Amazing videos and very detailed man... my question to you is I have an 08 335i auto and apon trying to do a burnout launch it started spinning the tires and then a big "thud" happened from the transmission and I immediately stopped after that! My question is I have a new used 2008 transmission to replace it with But do I swap out the entire transmission or do I just change the mechatronic valve body? And if I replace the transmission completely does it have to be reprogrammed for a 2008 or not? Your help would be greatly appreciated I've gotten so many different answers
Your thud likely has to do with wore out stator bushing inside the transmission. The whole transmission has to be removed to replace it. Recommend replacing the clutch friction as well while are in there
Hey, I found your removal videos very helpful getting my transmission out, but I can't seem to find a single install video anywhere and am having an issue with my install. I can't get the flex plate and torque converter to line up all 4 bolts. I've tried every combo matching of holes but one never lines up. I've looked for one hole smaller than the rest, but it seems like I have 2 next to each other that are oblong side to side and the other 2 are oblong top to bottom. Everything spins as it should, the transmission went together with no problem, I'm kind of at a loss to explain this and can't seem to find any info on it anywhere. Do you know of any install videos or a forum post about it that you could recommend?
