Even if you use a dry adhesive for the book covers, it is always a good idea to use a wet glue, or a bookbinding glue to do the spine. When the paper is a bit wet, and you score in between the cover and the spine, it will have a bit more "give" and you won't have as much trouble with the book being so tight. Nice tutorial - thank you!
Great tutorial. I've had these binder rings for months and hadn't used them but I will now put two books together tonight after watching your video. Thank you.
LOVE your mini..I feel the colors are just perfect..thank you for showing how to do the Tim Holtz binder rings..I picked up two packages of those today and can't wait to use them!
Okay...that is just too cute! It's great to see how easy the binder rings are to use! Thank you for that! I LOVE the embellishements you've put together for your cover! I'd love to see another video when the whole thing is all finished! Thanks very much!...Nancy :o)
I would probably punch holes AND attach the binder ring first before adhering it to the "middle paper"... much less before putting the covers on it... just so I don't have to 1) see the brads.. 2) it keeps it together better. the only risk would be bumps right on the binding. but that's what embellies are for! lol
You should have put the binder rings in with the brads before you added the embossed paper. You then would have a clean spunk and not have to worry about useless embellishments. You could even add a d ring to your project so you had something to hang charms off of. Just an observation of common sense. Your project is gorgeous and your distress technique rocks!
Hi Leanne, can you tell me how far apart the rings are from each other? I'm unsure if the plastic pockets I already have will fit these binders. Thanks!
Hey Pedro. You ca usually find these binder rings in any scrapbook store. There are some online stores that sell them as well. You can check out scrapbook.com store.scrapbook.com/ch-th92914.html Hope this helps.
Hey Carlin. I use my paper trimmer, but cutting chipboard is very hard on the blade. I usually have one blade for paper and one for chipboard. :) Hope this helps.
I think it's kind of trashy how you put those brads through the outside of your paper. Why didn't you put them through before you put that extra piece of paper over the outside of your spine ? At least they would be covered up from the inside.

you can also attach the binding ring to the center before you lay it down on the paper so you don't have to hide the brads later. :-)
LOVE your mini... LOve the embellishments... I wish I had the dress form.... :)

Hi, Leanne ... What is the best way to cut chipboard ... I'm a newbie to this

Hey leanne i want to make one of that but i cant find rings here in philippines
Adorable! Thank for you time. Well done :)
Love this! :-)
Why don't you fasten the ring with brads BEFORE you cover the spine with the paper? Then you don't see the "legs" of the brad!
I do believe that Michael's carries them. If you Google "Tim Holtz Binder Rings" you might have better luck. :)
