Setting up a filter with an LFO is an easy way to add a touch of funk to any track. More seasoned producers would surely know how to do it, but if you haven’t quite mastered this technique I’m gonna be showing you the settings for Maschine’s Filter effect I use quite often to get a rhythmic synth like this one.
It’s a perfect example of using a very technical aspect production in a musical way.

*Why* are there umpteenth “Plug-ins”-some that are CRAZY Expensive-that (appear to) essentially do the Same thing??? tyia

It’s hard to generalise. It depends, some of these plugins do bring something different and useful to the table, but some of them don’t. Sometimes the difference may be subtle, sometimes they bring entirely new functionality that’s not available in the stock devices. It’s true that in many cases people buy plugins without realizing they can achieve the same thing with what they already have.
