I am still bit confused with the linear view tho...
I do everything in ideas view, I do mixing there too, with SSL E channel strips, vu meters etc...
What about setting up macros and snapshots and just record the performance, where u would end up with one audio wave ready for mastering?
Any thoughts on that kind of workflow?

Nope no curved automation, I'm pushing that agenda hard lol. You could do that by resampling! Just pick a empty pad and record the master while you perform.

Is it possible to apply a filter to all groups only during desired portions of the song (say, a buildup) and disable it in the others? Or is the routing pattern fixed throughout the track?
Yeah, just use it during that part. Now you can also use a clip that ranges across the entire song and use that in your master dummy group. You can't automate bypassing an effect entirely that's the only limit, and the problem is the lowpass filter of Maschine has a rolloff at 12kHz or something like that so you will lose a little bit of highs. You could get around that by using a plugin thats all the way open.

So say I make a Master Group and add a stutter FX to it, do I have to make another Master Group to add another Perform FX to it and route the channels to that?
Add a group. Place fx of choice
Go to output set destination
I’ve been using this work around for a few years but I still get upset that I had to go through all of this just to get a fade fx in my songs lol This is definitely my #1 on the list of things missing from Maschine. Hopefully soon. (Oh and of course a full fledged song mode where I can add automation without adding empty unique patterns to my patterns)

@@BlezzBeats Yeah I know someone who works @ NI in the Maschine department. He told me that a lot of new stuff is supposed to come at the end of the year although he isn' t allowed to talk about any details. The MPC One is already on it' s way, so I' ll definetely check it out to have a comparison.

Hey dude! How do u automate basic daw mixer features like channel volume and panning like u do in regular daws since maschine u cant automate the mixer window?
Just like we're automating the parameters of a group in this video, you would automate the sound level under channel, output instead. Master, group, sound, one of them is always selected so you wanna be on sound. Similar to that you're always on either channel or plugin, there you wanna be on channel. Then either hold the button auto down while you twist a knob or hold shift and press auto to pin the automation so it will stay activated and record your knob movements. The automations will be recorded onto the pattern so make sure you have your patterns duplicated and therefor unique if you're recording over copied scenes.
Hi again! Yes i see there is level and pan on the output which is automatable both on group and sound... so this is the same as the levels and pan on a regular DAW mixer which is automated?

You could also route the sound directly from the group instead of from the group. I'll come up with another smoother workaround for that, it's possible. And thank you!

How do you remove automation from a single pattern without clearing the automation on another pattern using the same sound?
But how do u record write automate volume level of a gadam sound?! Everything ekse i can automate with ease but i have an audio track i want to bring levels of individual sounds in and out but this is giving me hell!!
One thing you can do is put any effect with a gain like the EQ
@@BlezzBeats but that doesn't reduce the volume to zero. Guess I have to copy each sound to its own group.
Side note, I had an Idea. Since maschine is capable of having 16 pads be recorded as midi simultaneously in the form of kits, couldn't one then somehow find a way to route 16 external audio signals to convert to midi triggers, and therefore unlock the capabilities of recording 16 tracks at once. Example: I could record a whole band guitar vox drums bass keys and have each mic be recorded in a DAW, and output the DAWs audio tracks to convert into midi and be finally routed into maschine as a kit. Thus unlocking a quasi multitracker mode.
@@olevoni1990 You can also route to one pad and automate the gain on that particular pad. Routing possibilities are endless.

Good video, bet many people couldn't come up with this themselves. The BEST way to improve maschine automation tho is to just use ableton live like a normal person lol. Migrating maschine into ableton got rid of all of my problems and has given me way more options ... best decision ever
Yuh I prefer doing it on the fly in Maschine I really don't see a big problem for myself, tried Ableton and it's not for me. I wanna keep my hands on the controller most of the time. But I do bounce my tracks to Logic and pimp it up a lil bit for some sparky shine those last 5%!

I have my Directory set to the right location it jus wont load anything into the manager when I scan.. I read I maybe have to bridge the plugins? I'm jus tryna run things like span and izotope plugins.. help me blezz! You my only hope mane! lol
@@coltyrolty7646 A few plugins that are VST3 only are not supported atm, I don't think bridging or wrapping VST3 plugins to VST2 is possible but I'm open to being proved wrong! Are other external plugins showing up?
@@BlezzBeats yeh man the only 3rd party shit I've gotten it to recognize is wobble, hybrid, and I think one other.. it wouldnt load a gang of shit I downloaded from native access until recently, maybe that was fixed on the recent update. Im really jus tryna load a visualizer plug for mixing and izotope vinyl.. Idk but I'll keep diggin too and if I remedy it I'll let yall know how I resolved it 🤙

I have to keep running it back and your hands sometimes are blocking for me to tell what you are pressing lol and your Maschine is different from mine layout and everything, which makes it more difficult for me to see what you are doing. I created a master group like you said but the mute doesnt work. But when i turn down the master knob my groups turn down too. how can i record that automation?

Meaning when an artist is rapping or singing I would like to be able to automatically mute the best then I I unmute to drop the beat back in.. Like I most hip hop records you hear... Well Underground and 90s hip hop mainly is what listen too. I can do it on protools but I would like to know how to do on the Maschine. And would like a better understanding on how you did the automation effects in that video. I really got confused on how you did that. You was doing it so fast

You can achieve it with this method too so please watch it back. Make a new group (lets call it a master dummy), add an effect to it on group level, route the audio from all other groups into that effect, make new patterns, record your automation. If you wanted to achieve what you explain, you can for example automate the level of your master dummy group. The master is not automatable that is the reason for this workaround.
@@BlezzBeats yeah that's the thing how do I route the audio from all other groups into that affect or Master dummy? Do I create a pattern in the master dummy and perform a effect. And you right I cannot automate the master like I can when I want to automate effects. It won't allow me to mute beat automation wise. So I get lost on how to route the groups into that master bus or dummy like you call it..I need to make it automate from me controlling the knobs as it go and if I don't like it I can undo the automation record. Are you following what I'm saying? I'm still kind of fresh from the MPC and SP 1200 world so forgive me for continue asking you questions about this because I really would like to know and learn more extensive capabilities of this machine

Whats the benefit of doing it via a fake group and not on the master channel. I dont get that.
Master channel will affect everything, routing it like this allows you to use clips while still sticking to patterns in the actual groups, you dont have to mess around with group settings "destructively", layer perform fx, there's many advantages. But when it comes to the master, you actually can't automate any parameters at all without this workaround.
