Farmers and pros will do their own chains, weekend types will just be sold a new chain every year, that's what the dealers want, not grinding thousands of chains per year.

that's neat and all but by the time you get it all setup you could have done it manually. also the $40k price tag limits it's use only to shops that have a massive volume of chains coming through especially after you consider maintenance costs. if you guys really want to get these machines out there you need to take some tips from the vending machine market and provide the machines free and just give the shop a percentage of it's income

What is wrong with you people 😂 this is clearly a tool for a high production environment. It's supposed to be "limited to shops that have a massive volume of chains coming through".

Markusson from Sweden rebadged. Once setup, which takes time and care they are very effective.

so much time to set it all up, you'll be faster by hand.

I use 6' chains, i feel like once the initial setup is done this could probably save me a few minutes doing 4 or 5 at a time. Of course i still won't pay that much for it.

You wouldn't say that if you had 1000 chains to do. All about volume and nowhere does it say this is for little guys 🤣 these comments are mindblowingly stupid

If each chain had to be set up to be sharpened like the setup in this video (and I can't see where you'd find two chains needing the same sharpening) then a person would be crazy to buy this machine. The name of the tool sounds great "automatic chain sharpener" but it's far from being "automatic"
I'll just stay with my Dremel or files.

By the time this thing is set up I could have hand filed 10 chains

I feel like the 620-120 is better than this. Less complicated.

Keyboard experts at it again I see. For starters the machine runs around $6800-6900 u.s funds if you know how to shop. The video is detailed to show people who have never used it, how to use it. It takes a min or 2 to setup once you know what your doing. It produces perfect matching results on every cutter. Results you cant get with a file no matter how much you try to convince yourself and the world you can. Bench mounted grinders do not produce the same results either because they develop slight slop and play in them and you can produce the exact same force and motion on all cutters every time. This is not for the guy who needs to sharpen his chainsaw chain. This is for shops or logging contractors with mechanical harvesters running 24hrs a day with high volume chain sharpening demands. The precision of this machine increases bar and chain life, reduces bar maintenance and lowers bar oil consumption due to faster and more consistent cuts.

Tell us you bought one of these shit box machines without telling us you bought one….
This doesnt even make sense for high volume since every chain is different length, teeth..etc…each different size and style requires a different setup….
So i cant see it even being viable for high volume operations…they could just hire someone to handfile all night and its cheaper….you still need an employee to operate the machine
And you still have to do the rakers by hand…

    • @apexrtx1000
      @apexrtx1000 Год назад

@@TheAcenightcreeper yes every chain is different but you drop the chain on, adjust how much you want to grind off and how deep you want it to go and flick the switch and walk away. If your going to a different pitch, loosen a screw and adjust. Takes less than one minute to set up a chain for sharpening. This video is detailing setup for the first time you use it out of the box, hence more time. And it cleans the gullets and does the rakers too. Id like to see you handfile harvester chains haha, ya a few here and there but Try 2,3,4,5 or more mechanical harvesters running 24hrs a day. Youd look real cute trying to keep up with your handfile. Some harvester chains need 50% of the cutter removed the first sharpening due to rock damage etc. Tell us you dont know shit about logging without telling us you dont know shit……….yes I have one and it works great. Allows me to repair a broken chain while one gets sharpened. Allows me to do a number of things while a chain is being sharpened. Zero problems keeping up with demands. Some guys over here do all their own chains and make another couple grand a month doing chains for others. Love it when people assume stuff based off an instructional video

@@apexrtx1000 post a video of you doing 10 different size and pitch chains in under an hour, alternating between square ground and round file…
Local hardware charges $6 to file a 32” chain, less for smaller…
So you would habe to do 1500 chains to recoup $9000, i think the machines are more now, plus what your time costs…since you have to manually operate the machine, you cant go off doing anything else for more than five mins without stopping…plus what salary do you pay yourself? $50/hr
If you ran it full time, you still paying someone to run it…its not automated, you cant just throw a chain on, hit a button and walk away.
It also only does rakers after you do two manually…rakers are the fastest part of sharpening. Also, for rakers it goes off the height you set at manual file…problem is, every tooth is different when it comes to rakers, no matter how exact the sharpening…chain teeth get chipped and broken, therefore requiring more filing to fix and lower rakers…if you set off the raker level on a chipped tooth to use for the rest of the raker height, youve got a shit chain that is so grabby you cant use it

@@TheAcenightcreeper even at $6800 it is out of the budget for alot of people. Personally I didnt care if it took 10 years for me to say “its paid itself”. It saves me time and Im not spending nearly as much time out in the shop preparing things for the next day because I can do alot of those things while A chain passes through the grinder. Most of the people who commented on this video Have zero experience using the grinder or even watching someone who knows how to use the grinder. They based assumptions off a very basic slow paced video on how to do initial setup before you use the grinder for the first time. My comments are based off actual experience and ownership and the benefits it has provided me which only a few have been mentioned. Considering most people complain about the cost of a hand grinder, this is definitely not for everybody.

If you have a degree in mechanical engineering, you still need a 32 hour course on how to get this machine operating…jesus christ…you need to tell customers…sorry, only doing one style of chains this week…otherwise your spending 6 hours adjusting settings

Frankly, when you get to a set and forget level that is affordable, then market your product. This is not well received. I am sure some young engineer could build something cost effective that is very user friendly. Instead you gave us this.
