god their dynamic is so interesting to me... calls back to that event where Kaeya wrote Venti a message saying "I triumph over you" in Hilichurlian. That was absolutely a veiled threat. For all his time in Mondstadt, Kaeya is still a Khaenriahn and I'll bet that he has no more respect for the Archons than Dainsleif does. He just puts more effort into covering it up. You can kinda see it, too-- at the beginning, he's making some subtle jabs at Venti by implying Barbatos's vanity and lack of concern for the people, which Venti promptly shuts down and turns on its head. Kaeya actually seems somewhat taken aback by it (the "..." before he switches back to the topic at hand), which indicates that he wasn't expecting to hear an Archon speak like that- it would go against what he's been led to believe based on the history of his nation. This is a super neat interaction (Edit since there's some confusion- in the old event w/ Venti, the hilichurlian message Kaeya wrote was "mi muhe ye". He claimed it meant "I love you", but there are books you can find that reveal it actually means "I triumph (over) you", and from Venti's reaction you can tell that he got the message too.)
I think it more like he is testing Venti belief and ideals as Archon. He did live happily in Mondstadt (before Crepus died). He is aware that Archon not necessarily what they seem to be and learn different doctrine between Mondstadt and Khaenriah. It's natural that he have doubt and skeptical about God but not as much as Dainsleif. To me, it's look like he want Venti honest answer as he know Venti hide things. The end of the hangout is Keaya feeling guilt but Venti assured him that Keaya is part of Mondstadt
Nah it's the opposite kaeya at first was saying how much barbatos cares for the hymns and the praise for the anemo archon it has in then venti shut him down saying that barbatos doesn't care for the praise and he would prefer that the people are singing from their hearts bc they love signing that's what left kaeya speechless (the "... " part 💀)
I thought it meant "I love you" Well whichever one it was, I don't think he was trying to insult Venti/Barbatos. I think he just knows that Venti is Barbatos and is having fun pretending to not know Venti's true identity when he really does. I think he's curious as to what Barbatos thinks and is subtly trying to learn about Barbatos' opinions on things. I have a theory that maybe the thing Kaeya's father sent him to Monstat to do was kidnap him or steal a specific thing from Barbatos, and that Kaeya has the ability to identify Barbatos right away. I mean even if he didn't, I'm sure Kaeya would be smart enough to figure out Venti is Barbatos from his wit alone. I wonder if Venti knows that Kaeya knows and if he knows Kaeya's true identity and his mission. I feel like Venti at least knows that Kaeya is Khaenri'an because I think he would know to recognize the star-shaped pupils, but I don't know how much more he knows.
