Honestly, if they want trains to be on time even in the snow, the Shinkansen should run specialized "snow schedules" that add extra time between stations so that the trains aren't delayed running on a schedule for perfect weather.
Given how Japan is a punctuality based train system, this could improve their service numbers drastically!
Adding an extra 45 mins between Gifu and Kyoto would help. And they could explain to customers when the snow schedule is running.
Or better yet: upgrade the tokaido/sanyo lines so they can do snow removal operations without slowing down trains.
The train driver didn't have to apologize. It is better to be slow and safe than fast and reckless. Everyone is so polite in this video 🙏❄

Lovely. So wish that the US would get it together. There’s presently zero chance of accomplishing decent train travel, let alone high speed rail … nor doing so for under $100/ticket
There’s a way but that would require the government and local state governments to care about the public and its transport systems. If most states don’t even have reliable bus or subway travel there’s no way it’ll have reliable transport in between states. And currently Amtrak has lots of tracks and routes but they need more money and we aren’t committed as a country to beefing up or renewing these systems because “but my taxes” but then again we don’t really care about core systems like education or homelessness so is it really surprising?

there are high speed rail trains in Florida but not sure about how expensive they are

I was so thrilled to see Mt. Fuji; so breathtaking. I always feel nostalgic when I watch videos of Japan which is odd because I've never been there. Yet. It's a compulsion to go now, I guess because I'm not getting any younger.
I enjoyed riding the trains and love your sense of humour.
Now I'd love you to see the snow monkeys; I bet you'd make a fun video out of that. Plus there's oodles of noodles to try along the way! 😂

The blizzard blowing a crap ton of snow into Kyoto Station a few weeks ago was an amazing sight, imagine the clean-up though...
Great trip. From Snowy Kyoto to the heaviest one around Maibahara and everything changes differently when entering Nagoya. Yeah, heavy snow is amazing to watch, make landscape dramatic but for someone on moving using transportation, especially on rush, it's bit annoying.

Last time I travelled with the shinkansen is already 12 years ago. From Toyo to Kyoto. Kyoto has an amazing railway station. I stayed the almost the whole day to discover it and eating Sushi 🍣🍣🍤🍣🍣 😂🤣😂

Y was your kishimen moving when you first got it? I was a little freaked out when I saw that. Cuz it look like it was alive. 😂 Really enjoyed your video. The trains look comfortable to ride in and the scenery was beautiful. Sorry the stand was closed when you got there I hate when it says I'm Google maps that it's open and it's not they need to update it. Stay safe and can't wait for your next video
