Dr Cooper, that was a great explanation of something that I actually don’t have! I have not seen or heard the word “Thrush” since my friends were dying from AIDS in the 1980’s until around 1995 when better medications were released! You’re an awesome Doctor with incredible knowledge in that big brain 🧠 of yours!
Thank you so much! Lately your videos have been helping my ease with anxiety. I have EOE, BE and acid reflux and all seem so confusing on how to reverse. I take PPI for my acid reflux and now want to see how I can control my EOE and treat the BE. Seems as EOE is the hard one as not much I can do besides figuring out my diet as my DR doesn't want to do the Steroid right now.
My colleague and I were talking about hesitancy to start steroids being common when you’d not think twice about starting them for an asthmatic. Grant it the risks of asthma are greater. My colleague and I agreed we see reasons to be more aggressive about achieving reduction of eosinophils at biopsy - much like we aim for improvement of Ulcerative Colitis on biopsy. Thanks for watching.
it's driving me nuts! 2 years I've had this for, nearly 6 months since I had a endoscopy and the biopsies are taking forever! my voice is effected, horse like, my throat, chest is always sore, food getting trapped, or I bring it up, either swallowing it again, or I'm just sick, it's like living in hell, I don't enjoy food, I get stressed when I get hungry, and so far what you've said I always get thrush so, I'm going to guess it's just not going to get better. nothing is going to change.
I'm in the same boat, I have a flareup about every two weeks sometimes less and it takes about 48 hours to resolve. During that time I'm absolutely miserable but in between flareups I still don't feel good. I've ordered some of the medication described in the video enough for about a 30 day treatment twice a day and if I start feeling the results are working I'm gonna go ahead and order enough for about a three month treatment. I'm buying them for my very trusted online pharmacy overseas and while it's still expensive it's nowhere near the crazy prices I see if you don't have the insurance to pay for it here in the US.
Great video! In EU we have a budesonide tabled specifically developed to target eoe, its called Jorveza. I have it and will try it out shortly… I was diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia, Gerb and eoe.
@@paddymurphy-oconnor8255it put me in remission, so it works, confirmed by biopsy. But it gave me plenty side effects, thrush, nausea, stomach issues, … So now I’m on the elimination diet.
Questions - Infections : If you were to get one of the infections you described, how bad are they? Is it something easily treatable / minor annoyance or a significant issue? - Medications : Jorveza/orodispersible budesonide *IS* approved outside of the U.S. With a prescription you can buy on-line via Canada w/ prescription. Have you considered prescribing this for anyone? NOTE: PPIs did not bring down my counts, which is why I'm looking for alternatives, etc. Thanks!

In the U.K. - NICE has approved Jorveza/orodispersible Budesonide tablets with great results for EoE.
When should you take the medication in relation to meal times? Before? After? Or does it matter??
For me it seems like when I eat chocolate I get a EOE flare up . Does this sound possible or is it all in my head ?
Question.. i am just drinking the budesonide without "slurry" or splenda.. am i doing it wrong!??
It probably won’t stick to your esophagus as well and therefore may be less effective
My 10 yr old daughter has been prescribed budesonide. The doctor recommended we mix it with honey. It doesn’t seem to be helping. Thoughts?

How did you get on? 💊

Thank you so much !!
You’re welcome. I hope it was helpful.
Well now, eohilia exists. Is that something you know that works well?
It should work well but can be much more expensive than mixing it up the old fashioned way.
Doctor I'm on Eohilia and it works phenomenal..
That’s great. So far I have kept patients on budesonide slurry as the eophilia is costing $1000 range.
I’m supposed to start it soon but terrified to :( this helps a bit
@@stephabeauty_2661no reason to be terrified. Steroid doses are very low and have minimal systemic effect - mostly topical.
