It's up to the commumity... There's a game called "Shattered Horizons" a space FPS game that's been basically abandoned but it's such a good game the small community runs private servers to keep it alive. You can't buy it on steam unfortunately BUT if you have a CD key you can download it from steam. Once support dropped you can't buy it. HOWEVER you can still buy CD keys from less than reputable sources and play. Honestly I really recommend it. It's one of the most unique shooters I've ever played and involves magnetic boots and a full XYZ axis and 3D tilt and rotation of your pack so you can do like spins and flips in space and all the sudden you're running down a ceiling of a blown apart space station and wrecking people. Zero audio minus breathing and coms, (no guns sounds in the vacuum of space) it's really immersive. Again I recommend finding a key for like 10-15$ and trying it. That being said if the community wants it to stay alive they will definitely find a way and it's honestly really wholesome when a game becomes abandoned hardware except for the die hards. It's like those halo players that stayed on until the bitter end when halo 2 servers finally went offline I salute those gamers. Halo 2 was the GOAT, halo 3 was there too but the Halo 2 community was just so lit.
Heya, I'm a PS armor player with 1ID. I didn't personally play in this match, but I roll with my crew pretty regularly (not lately though). I'm so glad that PS armor is getting exposure like this! Definitely the best aspect of the game IMO (when it all works correctly lol). Armor matches can be so varied, and can turn from 20 minutes of sitting and waiting in what I like to call "tense boredom" to a full on brawl in less than ten seconds. Even armor in pubs is extremely enjoyable when you know what you're doing.
Would have never played it or got into modding for it if that happened. I'm glad with the direction they took it, compared to Squad, though I don't like the direction they took it from there once it was properly separated.

Real shame to hear PS has been abandoned by the devs. My PC broke a while ago so didn't play PS for ages, and I only got the chance to play it again recently, only to see maybe one or two servers with people in them. Always really enjoyed it, even more so than Squad. Never understood why HLL and Squad were vastly more popular than PS and yet PS basically took the best parts from both games in my opinion.
On the weekend there are only two servers, with three max, maybe another at only 20 players. Non prime time, there is usually 1 server active, with a small que. One thing for sure if you are from north America and try to join a German server, you will get kicked ASAP, those admins can also be blamed for this dead game
Gatekeeping is typically a good thing, but from everything I've heard the PS hardcore players gatekept the game to death. Less so gatekeeping and more so barring the gates and refusing entry to anyone who doesn't know the secret password.

Surprisingly enough a 37mm shell could pierce the side armor of the panther, and the body of a tiger behind the tracks, not sure on the king tiger, but panther and tiger are susceptible to the right kinds of 40mm shell
Not really that suprising since 14.5mm guns could penetrate the sides of a panther. Only saving grace was thr angle of the upper hull. 37mils couldn't penetrate the tigers (1 & 2) sides and rear from any other range than point blank.

I absolutely love what they're doing with this the way the modders are putting all these WWII tanks in it can make this game 10 times better with more vehicles and maps
I play PS every day. There are fewer servers available but if you speak more than one language, you can always get a game or 3 in. Tank combat is always brutal. I'm just a driver but the stress levels are sky high. Events like this are awesome as all the crews are experienced. When you see a line of German tanks sitting hull down and pummeling the flanks of an unsuspecting group of Allied tanks, it's very cinematic. But Cromwells are OP in this game. Very hard to kill and lethal in their own right. There are no Devs anymore but the modders have been busy and fixed the problems with French maps. Join in for fun ! signed, 2Pz. Bell end.
The only gripe I have with tank battles is that every single hit on a tank or even around it looks like a kill shot. The explosions are WAY too large and extra. Save those beautiful graphics for when the tank is actually knocked out. Which btw, takes far too long for some of these tanks. A Sherman shouldn't be able to withstand 3 direct hits from a King Tiger. And yes, I have seen this. And sometimes it's hard to tell if you are hitting a tank or not because hitting the ground (with even just an AP shell) will make this MASSIVE explosion, when in reality it wouldn't even be half that. HE shells create big explosions, but I'm just amazed people and tanks can walk away from some of these explosions. They are HUGE and the results are just minimal in game. Doesn't add up. Anyone else feel this way? It's the same in Squad.
@@theShermanator I want them to look cool too and they look amazing! But it’s confusing to watch because a single hit will through up a tremendous amount of debris and parts and then when the deaf settles you find a completely unscathed tank. Take a look at how a game like Arma does it and to compare and I think that’s how it should be closer too. Other than that, this game would be my favorite. Honesty, I wish I wasn’t so picky about it because I know I’m one of the few who actually cares about it. 😝 that’s something I need to work on though

Wonder why they chose to put a sturmtiger in the game? It was primarily meant to destroy enemy fortifications. And the actual real-world reload time could be between 10-15 minutes?!
Generally sad to see it head the same direction beyond the wire did, OWI needs to get they're shit together man, so much wasted potential between the three games.
1:05 This is what i was trying to draw in Roblox, the game Called Doodle thing game i forgot i just remembered Doodle, but anyways, i was trying to draw SturmTiger but the Ink limit is only 5K so i dont have anough to finish the Track wheels and Things, but atleast i fixed the barrel that was too long, its kind of like a SturmTiger all of the Things were almost completed but because of the Ink limit is just 5K i couldn't finish it it was almost there, but what i could draw kind of is the M6/T1 Heavy, and there it is the T1 Heavy or M6, kind of its hard to draw because i mess up everytime but not much, so yeah
Honestly I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. The template of the game only appealed to a small amount of players. The building and logistics system was too complicated and the balancing of inf weapons left a lot to be desired.
Man what a shame to see this game dying, I had a lot of good times playing it, peeling down a cliff face in a respawn truck at mach 5 dodging trees so I can get my allies a close flank. Ugh.
I analyzed Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose, I choose the clearly superior game, Post Scriptum, more realistic, bigger maps, less arcadey, more tactical, for I had little money, even less now, I chose the wrong game, the one I chose died, the other one is thriving, getting new updates, new content, the worst part, there's nobody playing Post Scriptum, 1-2 servers with 30-50 people each, if that, this sucks.
I could NOT decide between PS and HLL. I ended up going with HLL. If the devs are not working on PS anymore, It makes me think I backed the right horse. Of course, knowing TEAM17, HLL might be on for the same path :/
the only one problem i see with this game is the fonts and where there are, those are to simple, its makes you feel like a unfinished game, like an alpha
I'm gonna miss PS. 😢 I was so excited for the new armor mechanics overhaul, and after barely any time at all the game gets abandoned. I really REALLY hope modders can revive it.
I just looked at the mod list. Nice, very impressive. Just one question: WHY DOES NO ONE EVER ADD THE GOD DAMN PERSHING????????? And don't give me that nonsense about how it was introduced too late in the war in very small numbers, because the sturmtiger was added, and only 18 of those were ever produced! It really just drives me absolutely insane that the Pershing never gets any love.
I dont like to say Im a veteran of this game really. But from My experience I think theres a few things that were done wrong and went horribly wrong for PS. First. Post scriptum was a heavier on Realism and Tactical approach requiring serious coordination, of the Two. Of course Im talking about Hell let loose as alternative. And it was that. Since early Days PS gathered audience that was Insanely professional. People often brag about Arma and Squad being for Mil Vet's PS was Insane at times. People treated it like a real proffession. Played seriously and tried to fight like their life depends on it. And to the last single ticket. Also do the exact job they picked and get assigned in the teams. Radio chatter I barely ever heard anyone overlap or talk over each other. Less so than in Real military. Some of the best experiences I have had in any Military game. Vehicle gameplay to this day unrivalled. Where I think went wrong is, although I understand the Need for more players to have a sustainable project, they just tried to get anyone interested. Instead of advertising as Hardcore Milsim. So some discounts were had and many casual players joined. Great right. Well to sound elitist, No. Gameplay was never conducive to casual, and Elite players eventually started leaving because it became kind of COD, chicken with their heads cut of like. Even then, for Casuals it wasn't casual enough, so they also left. So now Theres a game That basically has no people playing, and no Experienced people to teach you how to be good in it. Unlike Dark souls that stood their ground and understood what it needs to do and Endure to form a community. PS cracked under pressure and tried to commercialize in hopes it will work out. But the target audience that came is better suited for games like BF or Hell let loose. Oh also the D day Update spiked a massive Hardware hit that left Players on Old Machines With Pre Ryzen CPU's suddenly from 50-60 fps to 15-20 fps. No matter how much you reduce the settings. Mainly CPU impact. 3 Of my friends Left because of that. They loved the game.
This sounds more like a failure of the community to welcome new players and show them the ropes than a failure of the studio. Maybe if you had been more open to teaching the influx of casuals how to play the game instead of being elitist dorks obsessed with living out your fake war fantasy you would still have a player base.
Less tedious if playing solo, no real need to use a mic if you aren't a squad leader, simpler mechanics, shorter spawn times, more action and most importantly... progression (even tjough it's way too grindy but atleast it gives rewards).
This is a awesome game when it comes go proper tank battles. This is way more realistic compared to hell let loose. Not to mention way better tank kills. Feels like a poof of smoke when a tank explodes. No ammo racks or anything in HLL.
@@theShermanator Sure, if you aren't an experienced gunner. PSRM and/or PV don't alter the cromwell's ballistics *that* much. The only "nerfs" to the cromwell are fixes to the forward internal collider and to the wheel mesh. In vanilla PS, those issues allow the cromwell to soak up shots that would otherwise be fatal.

I a lot of way i feel like PS is better then HLL. Yes the maps and graphics aren't the best but everything else is so amazing in my opinion.
I never understood why they made post scriptom it’s own thing and not an expansion of squad itself
Would have never played it or got into modding for it if that happened. I'm glad with the direction they took it, compared to Squad, though I don't like the direction they took it from there once it was properly separated.
Wait, they are made by the same devs?
@@danielm.595 post scriptom was a squad Mod that was bought out by the squad developers and then sold as a new game. They should have just made it a squad DLC instead of fragmenting the player base
@@Elatenl for one "nobody is playing it" is a lie debunked just by launching the game
for two even less people would be playing it if it was a DLC ngl
@@TacticalBeard This is not correct. The mod team, Periscope Games, was offered by OWI, the developers of Squad, for OWI to publish Post Scriptum as a stand-alone game rather than as a mod for Squad. Periscope accepted.
No member of OWI worked on Post Scriptum, to my knowledge, and aside from working in the Squad SDK, no one from Periscope worked on Squad.
I mean, if the modding community is active and thriving enough, the game could live on for a long while
It felt as if i was watching an Rts strategy game like men of war assault squad 2 or gates of hell ostfront
Loved it
On the weekend there are only two servers, with three max, maybe another at only 20 players.
@@aceambling7685 ive also had bad experiences with squad as a new player . asking people genuine question and being left with a blow of wind in the face (aka a big old silence) . hence why i love HLL but not squad (even tho i prefer a modern setting) . having a warm welcoming community that helps people understand mechanics they are interrested (supply chain for example) in is a fucking big plus , let me tell you that .
That Daimler in the video always had the jetpack joyride theme on lmao.
lmao they were TEARING it UP
It's a shame I couldn't get into Post beforehand. I got into HLL instead but never seemed as satisfying as this game was. I hope for the best for post.
PS’s future may be in peril but I gotta say Sherman, that game was amazing! Kept me on my toes! Miss seeing those armour battles in PS.
The dedicated armor mode in PS was so cool!
Those fire and smoke FX are fantastic.
Yeah PS did/does look great
Sadly I don't think much can be done to save the game. Even the modding community is super active the player base is still just simply not there and without any support for fully flesh-out bots it doesn't look good for the future. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I think.
The crane Was only used to load shells into the tank not into the Chamber and the big hatch at the back is only for the crew not for shells but the big hatch on the roof is for loading shells into the tank
I wonder if there is a way to procedurally spawn destructible furniture inside of the buildings. The map exteriors are amazing but the interiors are really bland. Having tables, chairs and shelves disintegrate around you would be awesome.
that would be really cool actually, not sure about frames though :D
PS allied tanks have incorrect sights for most of them, where the germans get adjustable sights, so you literally have to aim via tracer at far ranges
Ah fair
Well, at least the game is stable/playable and it supports modding so it is definitely not totally dead... (And they were able to add in vehicle rework) Even Red Orchestra 1's mod Darkest Hour is still sorta alive today so lol I hope they get their shit together soon
same thing happened with Beyond the wire. A game under Offworld Industries
PS was too much sim... it means smaller playerbase, and on top of that development was slow so... HLL has better balance between FUN and SIM... although i loved how PS were doing tank combat, it was much better and more technically advanced, this is what i miss in HLL.
Ill agree with that
The tank mechanics were far better than warthunder.
@@leiaorgana5098 in what way?
@@kiwuuspurr1927 Are you going to defend volumetrics in WarThunder?
PS does that better...
i'd love to see the A34 Comet 1 be added it is the best tank towards the end of the war for the brits cause of it's 77mm gun but if they add the Centurion then that's far
Oh I do love the Comet and the 77mm!
Mortar Cromwell :p Allies seemed really out gunned in this match up...
men, i really want world of tanks to be like this, the action feels incredible and if you could survive as a soldier and spot for the team after you die that would be cool.
Not with Wargaming running it.
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3 OK! i will do MY OWN World of Tanks with blackjack and hookers.. you know, forget blackjack
I'm actually glad this is happening. Modders have this tendency to actually give a shit about the game they're working on.
Damn the ending was an absolute Cliffhanger XD
it was kinda insane tbh
Need to convince owners to make post scriptum free to play at least for few days
I think it had a free weekend before? not sure
I absolutely love what they're doing with this the way the modders are putting all these WWII tanks in it can make this game 10 times better with more vehicles and maps
Very interesting, sadly the playerbase is just dwindling :(
PS is incredible.. I hope it comes back
I play PS every day.
I think its just an issue with game design, people want explosions to look cool haha
😝 that’s something I need to work on though
with these modded vehicles makes me want to play the game, but what a shame that the Devs decided to let such an amazing game die
i love this game (because it got dedicated tank mode) sadly i find it hard to get a tank mode room that atleast half full
yeah its a shame its hard to get games
so with the sturmtiger, that rear hatch and crane were for resupplying ammunition to the tank itself, not for loading the launcher/gun
Ah my bad
ah post scriptum, i remmeber playing the alpha and how fun it was as back then it was basically people who wanted almost a sim like experience, ive hever had so much fun leading i think a squad of 10 when it came out, idk how i became leader but it just happened, and its fun coordinating with people from one side of the map to the other and winning lol. But i havent played since probs the alpha if not 2020 at the latest. and heard the game basically became a bunch of kids who scream etc, just.. the game went downhill and reading baout the devs being fired and the game abandoned is disappointing
i think the sturm tiger is a bit extreme but what do i know. would like to see like a sturm panzer instead
I really wish this game would come back to life. But the servers are always empty. Specially tank servers
I was planning to buy this for a few years but i kept using my saving money, now that i see it's cheaper than hll, i wanted to buy itu but yeah the review said that it was abandoned. Oh well might try HLL later if my laptop strong enough, or back to PR
only 1 person left and he is just the CEO not a dev :/
Wonder why they chose to put a sturmtiger in the game? It was primarily meant to destroy enemy fortifications. And the actual real-world reload time could be between 10-15 minutes?!
Because the mod dev just wanted to, idk
Hope the cowardly devs at least open every door to future modders to keep the game alive!
Generally sad to see it head the same direction beyond the wire did, OWI needs to get they're shit together man, so much wasted potential between the three games.
My problem with PS is that the color palette make it look like Minecraft and the inside of buildings feel as flat and empty as a gmod map
Ha I can see that
1:05 This is what i was trying to draw in Roblox, the game Called Doodle thing game i forgot i just remembered Doodle, but anyways, i was trying to draw SturmTiger but the Ink limit is only 5K so i dont have anough to finish the Track wheels and Things, but atleast i fixed the barrel that was too long, its kind of like a SturmTiger all of the Things were almost completed but because of the Ink limit is just 5K i couldn't finish it it was almost there, but what i could draw kind of is the M6/T1 Heavy, and there it is the T1 Heavy or M6, kind of its hard to draw because i mess up everytime but not much, so yeah
You didn't need the crane for reloading the gun, you needed it to get new rockets into the tank.
Ah fair thanks
@@theShermanator also realized that's the 100th time someone commented the same thibg so sorry about that :D
hahaha
Honestly I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. The template of the game only appealed to a small amount of players. The building and logistics system was too complicated and the balancing of inf weapons left a lot to be desired.
PLEASE do more videos of spectating!
I got some t-cut. will take that scratch out right quick
Man what a shame to see this game dying, I had a lot of good times playing it, peeling down a cliff face in a respawn truck at mach 5 dodging trees so I can get my allies a close flank. Ugh.
post scriptum deserves better, HLL deserves to be left to die like this game sadly has.
Watching this, my War Thunder playing time knowledge kicks in 😂
lmao
I analyzed Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose, I choose the clearly superior game, Post Scriptum, more realistic, bigger maps, less arcadey, more tactical, for I had little money, even less now, I chose the wrong game, the one I chose died, the other one is thriving, getting new updates, new content, the worst part, there's nobody playing Post Scriptum, 1-2 servers with 30-50 people each, if that, this sucks.
Pity, but guess they didn't do enough community outreach as well as not doing anywhere close enough a good job on advertising.
agreed!
@Sherman eeeeep! Sherman responded to my comment! Flllleeeee
😂💥🙏
I could NOT decide between PS and HLL. I ended up going with HLL. If the devs are not working on PS anymore, It makes me think I backed the right horse.
Of course, knowing TEAM17, HLL might be on for the same path :/
These eye in the sky videos are awesome!!!
never heard of this game before. looks cool!
the only one problem i see with this game is the fonts and where there are, those are to simple, its makes you feel like a unfinished game, like an alpha
I'm gonna miss PS. 😢 I was so excited for the new armor mechanics overhaul, and after barely any time at all the game gets abandoned. I really REALLY hope modders can revive it.
maybe yeah
I just looked at the mod list. Nice, very impressive. Just one question: WHY DOES NO ONE EVER ADD THE GOD DAMN PERSHING?????????
And don't give me that nonsense about how it was introduced too late in the war in very small numbers, because the sturmtiger was added, and only 18 of those were ever produced! It really just drives me absolutely insane that the Pershing never gets any love.
Maybe send the dev $50 and he'll make it :D
@@theShermanator ah, I suppose that's how the modding world works. I might just have to see if I can encourage him. I really do love the Pershing.
People often brag about Arma and Squad being for Mil Vet's
PS was Insane at times.
Oh also the D day Update spiked a massive Hardware hit that left Players on Old Machines With
Pre Ryzen CPU's suddenly from 50-60 fps to 15-20 fps.
Sparks from the Cromwell, Thermite round hit, maybe?
oh maybe!
@@theShermanator Nasty..melt the frame..just became a Flintstone mobile.."Hey Guys! Grab a wall, put boots on the ground, and PUSH!!"
How was hell let loose more popular than this....?
Less tedious if playing solo, no real need to use a mic if you aren't a squad leader, simpler mechanics, shorter spawn times, more action and most importantly... progression (even tjough it's way too grindy but atleast it gives rewards).
PS has the potential but some things makes it suck, like the clowncars, the redicious speed of wheeled vehicles, the bias against wehrmacht
ha fair
how is the velocity of these shots so damn low ?
probably for balancing reasons
someone needs to open source this game and make it free
IDK if that would happen, I think Squad Devs wont like that since its their engine etc
This is a awesome game when it comes go proper tank battles. This is way more realistic compared to hell let loose. Not to mention way better tank kills. Feels like a poof of smoke when a tank explodes. No ammo racks or anything in HLL.
Yes, HLL could really use a tank explosion makeover. As it stands, most if not all vehicle explosions in HLL look exactly the same. Makes no sense.
realistic doesn't always mean fun.
Honestly i feel like performance and optimization is whats stopping the majority of people from enjoying this game
and yet we have a photo of war thunder
So? It's not easy to grab a picture from PS and the idea is the same
Tree OP... stopping a sturmtiger round
lmao
Do you need a crew of players to operate a tank properly?
Yes you do
That cromwell gunner at the start needed to be fired out of the cannon.
it was a tough shot tbh lmao
@@theShermanator Sure, if you aren't an experienced gunner. PSRM and/or PV don't alter the cromwell's ballistics *that* much.
The only "nerfs" to the cromwell are fixes to the forward internal collider and to the wheel mesh. In vanilla PS, those issues allow the cromwell to soak up shots that would otherwise be fatal.
@@theShermanator Addendum: I looked again and it's a 7AD crew. That explains a lot. They have a couple of pretty good tankers, but also have quite a few not-so-good tankers.
Post scriptum is so much better than this Call of Duty alike game called Hell Let Loose. I hope a WW2 mod is launched directly into Squad, it would be so great.
Looks like the drop on the 75mm is exaggerated
Probably for scaling reasons
Maybe we can save it tru crowdfunding
i just dont get it, theres such a community wanting to play the game but we just dont get to play it since empty servers. Why dont we join up and play together at the same time?
im not sure :D
I soooo love the fact that people were shitting on hell let loose before it even released and were saying how they can't compete with PS and yet HLL buried this game lol.
That is in fact what happened.. but HLL didn't do it alone. Team 17 marketed the hell out of it.
@@prototypechannel6975 Maybe, but keep in mind that majority of HLL comunity is aware of PS yet still play HLL. Not only marketing but the game succeed to hold the majority of the players. PS lacked on beginners friendlyness. I tried it and I was overwhelmed

What always blows my mind is that even to this day you will have people shilling for HLL to become more like PS, like do they not understand why this game died in the first place?
HLL just is a tad more arcade than PS which gave it a huge edge imo
This game is probably one of the best WW2 FPS games, if it had the players it would be the best.
I do like PS a lot
At first I thought this was Squad
haha its the same engine!
Post Scriptum is dead just like Beyond The Wire because it never should have been its own game. Both should have been DLCs for Squad. For whatever reason OWI thought it would be a good idea to publish them as separate games, dividing the player base.
Same as Medieval engineers. Sad times for historical games.
Medieval Engineers and Space Engineers (to a lesser extent) both died because of low content, high jank, and ugly aesthetics. Also for a similar reason to Post Scriptum and Beyond the Wire; in that ME should have been a DLC for SE instead of a standalone game, just like PS and BtW should have been DLC for Squad.
Is this even have single player?
nope
Post scriptum was a badass game wish devs stuck around, but instead games like hell let loose which is utter trash is still going
