New Makeup & Second Chance Makeup - Will It Work?

- Time to give some new makeup a second chance. I picked up the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Foundation Stick and it didn't turn out well, I also tried the new Patrick Ta Major Glow Creme and Powder Highlighter and it was a huge mess. Let's try them again and see if I can get them to work this time. Cross your fingers with me.

That eyeshadow, bronzer, and blush all seemed sort of reddish or cinnamon on my screen -- warmer vs cool. But they looked really nice on you. Even the lip liner pulled warm before you added your other lip products. I liked how the Walnut looked on you by itself... It seemed to really match or coordinate with the eye and cheek colors. 😊

Thanks for watching. These products are certainly "wants" and not "needs." That's true for most makeup, but especially for these two. I really have been enjoying the YSL bronzer and the Surratt Quad. I've been reaching for them a lot!

Eek, I almost did a little dance when you brought out the Surratt quad! I just picked up a few things in their recent sale, haven’t tried them yet but they were already in the lineup for today! I initially only intended to order their bronzer, but ended up also picking up their Nus Sublimes palette which has 2 eyeshadows and 1 blush in very basic shades. Their face powders are said to be outstanding, so I’m excited to put them on my face. Will report back!
Ooh, please let me know how things go with your new surratt. I also picked up an artistique liquid highlight in Lamé. I'll save it for another video. This quad is everything I want in basic form. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Surratt! I have a lot of their blushes, but none of their eyeshadows…until the recent sale. I got the Beyond Beige quad (among other things). And now… OMG… I get it. It’s simply beautiful! The way the shades play together is amazing. It can go with warm or cool looks. It just looks amazing on the eyes. It makes me feel glamorous, too!
I have that same YSL bronzer in that lightest shade. It’s literally the only bronzer I have that I don’t have to be careful applying. That’s a novel experience for me!! It’s fun!!
I totally understand what you're saying about the YSL bronzer. I don't have to worry about it. the Gucci bronzer is a close second, but it's still one I have to be careful with. I like that they're both so much lighter than all the rest. I'm really loving the new YSL bronzer.
The Surratt quad is everything I want in a daily use palette. Not too many shades, the ability to pull warm or cool depending on what I reach for, and something I can build up for intensity, or use with a whisper thin layer. I'm obsessed. I don't have any of the brushes, but all the other products I used to have from the brand just didn't work for me. The one blush I used to have was just too light (duchess) I had one of the eye duos with a cream and a shimmer in the purple tone. I never reached for it. I also had one of the lid lacquers and it creased. I'm so glad to finally discover something from the brand that works for me the way I love to wear makeup. I'll have to look for other shades and maybe build my own quad. I love the quality of the powders. Thanks for watching today.

The eyeshadow quad looks so lovely on you. That first shade would make a great "one and done."
I have the NARS Behave blush and I agree with you about it being "desaturated." It looks like nothing in the pan but works wonders on the face if you want to look more natural.

I have been reaching for the shade in Behave a lot. It's so good that I haven't been using the other shade I ordered much. I also picked up forbidden. They're both so lovely.
I'm really impressed with this quad and bronzer. I didn't think anything could get me to stop reaching for my ysl quad in Stora Dolls, but this quad is so beautiful. Just enough and not too much. I have used the first shade as a one and done shade since recording this. 😉

I struggle with eyeshadow and I think it’s because I only use synthetic brushes.
I used natural hair today with the Surratt because brushes from the brand are natural hair. I have been enjoying my BK brushes a lot. They're lovely, and I only want more now!

I can’t wear the CT by itself, I wore it in combination with the ilia stick foundation and loved it. I love my PT highlighter in Baby. The entire look is beautiful 💕
Ooh, I was going to pick up baby but it was out of stock. 😥 That's ok, "my love" it's so pretty. I'm wearing the CT with the ND concealer and that's a combo I like. It's really lovely and just a bit glowy.

I absolutely love Surratt! I have very hooded eyes so I always wear primer….but all of their products are beautiful, in my opinion. The only issue I have encountered is that some of the packaging is hard to open/access. Thanks for trying again with the other products - that was interesting!

@@thelipstickgal Oh - I love both of their foundations, their loose powder (which nobody ever mentions), all of their eye shadows (esp the new jelly like prism ones), all of their lip products (their gloss is slightly sticky but VERY long wearing). I think their makeup is so elegant - never over done. As I get older, I appreciate that.
I don’t have any of these -trying hard to rein in my makeup spending to focus on my upcoming boxing match and all the gear (a whole other story!) but I swear you are the lipstick whisperer - everything looks good on you and ends up on my wish list! And you have yet to steer me wrong!

It's pretty, but it's not the best highlight I've purchased in the last year.
Unsolicited advice that u already know...don't work too hard to make the CT work. It should work for you not other way 'round. You have that generous spirit that wants to help others be their best. No need to put that energy on a product that is recalcitrant.😅
Ooh, what a kind and thoughtful comment. I appreciate it. I don't want to give a product an unfair chance, but the CT stick foundation isn't what I really need/want. It's not bad, but not someth8ng that I was needing in my collection.
