As someone who also struggles with depression, I think it's important that people realize they never know what's going on when you're not in public. It can be a struggle for sure, but you definitely seem like you're really enjoying your summer and feeling much better! Love all your videos ❤
Yes, it's hard to know what's going on behind the scenes. I'm so grateful for the youtube community that so overwhelmingly supports and encourages me. My family is also a huge support system as well.
I used to work in radio for over 2 decades, so I'm really good at putting on a happy face when I need to. I've learned how to sound engaged even when I'm dealing with so much pain. It's a skill learned over years.
Thanks for being so open about your struggles with depression. I decided that it was important to talk openly about it so people would know that life isn't perfect for me. I also don't want there to be a stigma from being diagnosed with depression, or taking medication to alleviate it. I hope your summer is off to a great start. Thanks so much for your thoughtful and kind comment. I really appreciate it.

Ooh, what kind words. Thank you so much! I'm sorry that you also suffer from chronic illness. I know how hard it is. As for looking like I have it all together, keep in mind that I worked in radio for over 2 decades. My degree and are minors in Speech Communication, Journalism and Drama. All studies about how you connect and present to an audience. I'm uniquely trained to do this well. I do lay like a bag of bones in bed or in my favorite chair for much of the day, but I can pull myself up by my emotional bootstraps when I need to. : )
I love my family with my whole heart, and I'm so grateful for them. I'm also grateful for the YT community I have here. It's my favorite place to spend time talking about one of my favorite things: makeup!
Long comment incoming, I have thoughts! First, that YSL quad. I have put that Stora Dolls in and out of various carts since it came out, but I finally bought it a couple weeks ago. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! That sparkle shade is a dream. It’s so spendy, but I wish I’d just picked it up from the get go, as I’m mad I could have been enjoying it all these months. Now, nail polish. Dazzle Dry is a gel alternative system that is sooo good. Expensive, but truly lasts like gel. Love it. Lastly, it makes my heart so happy to hear how much time your girls are getting to spend with your mom. I absolutely cherish the memories of trips with my grandma, and I hope they’ll cherish all these memories they’re making!
Thanks so much Nichole. I LOVE the YSL quad too. I just purchased a second one yesterday evening. Selfridge's is having a sale, and I picked up one that's only available on their website. It's got silver quilting on the packaging! I can't wait until it arrives. Keep an eye out for sales. I picked mine up for $44 plus shipping. So much better than the nearly $70 price they normally are.
I'll have to look into Dazzle Dry. I'm trying to figure out ways to keep a manicure on longer than traditional polish. I spend so much time in the kitchen and bath tub, my manicures don't last when they're not ultra hardy.
My kids are having such a wonderful time with my parents. They arrived at their house in Ohio yesterday, and were so glad to be able to sleep in a bed by themselves. (one the road, they were sharing a bed in a room with mom mom) I loved the summers I spent time with my grandparents, and I'm so glad that my kids are able to do it with my parents. I received the Lancome balm in the mail yesterday along with the new YSL Candy Glaze Butter Balm, the Clarins Lip Oil Balm and the Bare Minerals Dewy Lip Balm Stick. Add to that all the other ones I have, and it should be an interesting video. I really like the LE ones, but like you, I need more color.

Thanks so much! I'm so glad to be feeling like myself these days. My husband took our entire family to see SIX last summer. It was my girls' favorite musical at the time. I think they've moved on to something else, but we were in full SIX mode last summer. Loved it. I've read so much about the English Renaissance and the Tudor "dynasty." I was so tempted by the Lisa Eldridge Épanoui (although honestly, as much for the name as anything, because épanoui is one of my favourite words in any language), but I have to admit that in literally every review I've seen, even that one and the lighter colours look like they're bleeding over the outline of people's lips. I love Lisa Eldridge as a person and makeup artist so much, but unfortunately, with one exception, I've been quite underwhelmed by her products. I had an allergic reaction to the original lipsticks when they first launched, and broke out badly from the skin tint recently, which was unusual for me. Her product I do LOVE, though, which I picked up recently and have been wearing almost every time I leave the house is the Liquid Lurex eyeshadow in "Bianca". It's the first liquid eyeshadow I've found that not only doesn't budge (liquids do end up in broken creases on my lids within a few hours) but I can't feel it at all. It actually made me realise that I'm really a single eyeshadow person (more than partly due to lack of skill, heh), so when I streamlined my makeup recently to only things I love that will fit in my one makeup bag, I decluttered almost all my palettes, and actually passed my YSL Stora Dolls onto my mum. It is a beautiful palette, though, I think one of the best formulas I've found; I just wasn't using it enough. I'm acknowledging and embracing that I'm basically a matte-in-the-crease and glitter topper person or a Bianca person. :)
I love the jewellery, especially the key earrings. For the most part, I wear very simple jewellery-I never take off a necklace that was a gift from my parents and I tend to stick to fairly simple huggies from Etsy, usually just a little star and moon. But I do love a brand called Lover Lover, which is made here in New Zealand-much more statement earrings, but I get comments on them every time I wear them.
I'm sorry that Lisa's products haven't worked out for you on the most part. What a shame. I LOVE Bianca. It's my most used LIquid Lurex. I'm nearly out. Bianca was the shade that taught me I really am a liquid eyeshadow person. I used to try the liquid glitters from Stila years ago, and all the other iterations of the popular product. They just didn't work for me, and felt really gritty. I tried the ones from LE only because I was in the habit of trying every single release she's had for my channel. I didn't have high hopes, but I was so blown away. I don't buy any other liquid eyeshadow, and love them for one and done days. I should use them more on camera.
Yes, the Baume Embrace are very emollient. They do tend to feather outside the vermillion border a bit, but it doesn't bother me with Épanoui, Sweet Fig, or Meet Cute. They're light enough that they don't look messy to me. I can't wear Red Curve or Metropolis without a liner. The darker shades really show up on my lips.
I'm going to look into Lover Lover. I am so interested in statement earrings. Thanks for sharing your favorite brands and for making the time to watch today.
@@thelipstickgal I was blown away by the Liquid Lurex formula as well (and taken really by surprise; I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as nice as it is, to be honest. I was also pleasantly surprised that Bianca pulls fairly neutral on me. I'm a big pink person, but it's actually not that easy to find pink shadows-especially in that kind of formula-that aren't too warm or too loud, and don't either look like pink-eye or wash me out. :) I picked up a back-up the other day, because I'm not entirely sure what the longevity is like, if they dry out, and it took so long to be able to try it in the first place because it was out of stock for so long. Now that Lisa is stocked at SpaceNK in the UK, I'm hoping that means she'll have the resources (and possibly contractual obligation) to keep everything regularly restocked. I'll be pretty gutted if it's discontinued! I used to have the Stila shadows as well, and I do have one MAC one that *would* be really pretty, but you can absolutely feel it on your eyelid, and I hate that feeling as if it's actually weighing down your eye or something's stuck there.
And thank you! :) I might still give Épanoui a try, then, because it looks like it might not pull *too* warm; I look for anything with "mauve" in the description, because otherwise it'll likely do a Pillow Talk and turn straight-up orange on me.
I frequently forget how fortunate my neutral skin tone is. I can wear nearly every shade. There are some that I don't prefer, but I can wear almost anything I want.
I'm so excited that Lisa is being sold at other retailers because when those retailers have sales, I can get the products I love for a discount. I might need to check my Bianca to see if I need another one. Mine might be dried up. It's been a few months since I've reached for her. I've been favoring Emily and Cressida.

It was a long month in my camp. My nephew was in a very bad car accident. His neck is broken and many other serious injuries. He lived with us for 9 years when he was a kid. He isn't paralyzed. We are grateful to God he is still with us. He is 37 and strong. He will survive and thrive. Then I hurt my back. It is getting better slowly. I didn't wear much makeup honestly. Eyebrows and powder foundation. Have a wonderful week. Happy 4th of July ❌️ ⭕️

I love that you have a collection of antique jewelry. That's so cool. I don't have many pieces of fine jewelry, but I'm looking to expand that. It just pains me to spend the money, not to mention that I love more novelty pieces. Safety pin earrings, bear necklaces, rings made out of spoons and coins (ect.) I should stick to more quality pieces that will last longer.

Glitter is a hard line for many people. I'm not as worried about it as some, and I'm totally head over heels for the Golden palette. I've been loving my BK Brushes. They're so luxe and beautiful. I've been reaching for them over my natural hair brushes. I can't wait until I've used them all and know how best to utilize them. Sometimes new brushes take me a while to figure them out.

It's a Guerlain Rouge G matte lipstick. Let me find the shade number. I'm so sad they "reformulated" and updated the packaging. The new lipsticks won't work with the old packaging. 😡

Edit: it's shade 530 blush beige. It's not part of the new shades they just released. (It it's not listed on the Guerlain website) You might be able to pick it up from a discount retailer (fragrancenet.com) they might have it. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you. 😭

@@margaretlavery4118 sadly it's a recently discontinued Guerlain Velvet matte lipstick shade. I purchased it at the beginning of this year for my luxe lipstick videos, and I love the formula. The recently reformulated and came back with direct shades. Sorry.

I am so glad you finally feeling like yourself again. ( even you had a difficult time with chronical pain, and pain from the surgerie on top. And mental health issues. I never noticed this in your wonderfull video's. And thank you for making so many video's for us even you were strugeling.) I noticed your juwelery. I think it suits you well. I love that the ducks look like a normal hoop when you wear them. I prefer silver juwelery for myself. And I have one piercing that is done terrible on my left ear. And it was been teard down. So I always wear earrings that cover this. Now I wear half hoops that are quite bulky but i like them for now. Before I had tiny studs with a little black stone and a light pink stone as well. The pink stone was the center of a tiny flower in silver. These were tiny but just large enough to cover my scare from the tear. I love more romantic juwelery or just the opposit and go for a little bit grungy stuff. ( I love Anthilope shop, an juwelery shop from a French girl on you tube. She loves beauty as well but she launched a juwelery line with some grungy, gothic juwelery. Love here pieces.

I went through a dainty jewelry season, but I think that's over. (Dainty for me) I'm wanting bold gold tones pieces that will wear well. I do have lots of sterling silver, and white gold. There will be times that I only want cool tones.

So glad you are feeling more like yourself. I recently found a massage therapist I like and been taking 3-5 dance classes a week, which has brought me back to myself. Nice to come home to my body. ❤ I normally wear crystal and silver jewelry made by friends. However, I just found Artemer and love their pieces. Still loving LE skin tint ... just looks lovely.
I've been seeing an acupuncturist and my therapist. That has helped a lot. Once it doesn't hurt to stand or walk, I'm planning on starting yoga. I want to get my body back to feeling like me. Dance would be a wonderful way to do that, but I'm not much of a dancer. I'm terribly uncoordinated. : )
I'm just looked up Artemer, and I'm in love. The only jewelry that I have that is in that price range is my wedding rings. Sadly I don't have the $22,000 for the cool, pave, chunky ball earrings that instantly caught my eye. I could easily wear any of their creations, but I'd need to save forever. (or wait until my kids are out of school)
I've made lots of my own jewelry in the past, but it's been a while since I've done that. I've only been making charms for my gold hoops recently. That's not really making an entire piece, but making my fave, solid gold simple earrings more versatile. I'm glad you're loving the LE skin tint too! When I receive my next batch of Douglas Jr movies I'll have 15 of his I think?!! Lol I'm just totally smitten by his iconic beauty (who has eyes like that?!!) and his impeccable acting. They pulled It's Tough To Be Famous from yew tewb so I just had to buy that one -- he's SO sarcastically funny in that film, it's one of his best I think. I also repurchased The Birds that I used to have -- it's a classic just like Dougie and therefore one that I can enjoy over and over. If I really love a movie once is never enough to watch it lol. I get engrossed in the acting or directing nuances -- no casual surface watching for me, I'm a nerd what can I tell ya 😅. Sorry for the novel but you sorta asked for it hah!! 😂🤣 Love ya, ❤️🥰🎥💄!!
I loved the novel! Thanks so much for sharing your favorites. One of my favorite Classic Films is The Major and the Minor with Ginger Rogers and Roy Milland. It's such a funny one, and Ginger is stellar. I grew up watching Golden Age of Hollywood films, and I love nothing more than sitting down and watching a black and white classic. I need to watch more Douglas Fairbanks Jr. films, so thank for reminding me to check those out.

Yes, this 2023 version of The Buccaneers is chasing Bridgerton. I feel like the 90s version of this that was on BBC is certainly much less modern. I'm reading the book right now, and it's different than the Apple TV+ version by the same title. That's ok, I enjoyed them both.

Happy early Anniversary. I can't believe that it's been 22 years for my husband and me. It's crazy how fast the time flies. I actually brought my husband to tears when I said "we've got a high school freshman and junior this year." He frequently forgets how old the kids are getting and gets emotional when he realizes how soon our kids will be out of the house. These past few weeks while they've been visiting grandparents has been very quiet, but we're learning how to spend time together without the kids. It's a totally different thing that we'll have to relearn how to do. Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for watching!
