- Since my youngest son has moved out on his own, we decided it was time to give his room a MAKEOVER! I knew what color scheme I wanted to use but I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg getting it done. So, while there were some thing I bought new, there were MANY things that I thrifted and made over to fit in with the decor. I can’t wait for you to see how it turned out!

Hi Melissa, I enjoyed your Chanel and makeover. Could you tell me again the name of the sage green chalk paint color. Did you buy it at Walmart? And the wax paint. Again the name ? And then the white chaulk. I have a dark hunter green chest I want to do in the color you used.

I just found your channel. The room redocame out beautiful. I love to paint used firniture and other items. Up here in Maine we often find furmiture and other articles left at the end of a driveway. I like having a one of a kind home.

Overall, I love the soothing monochromatic green scheme. I probably would have tried swapping the brown cabinet near the door with the white table next to the bed.
Thanks so much! We thought about it but the brown cabinet was a little too wide and it would’ve been too bulky for the area. Putting the white table there kept the space a little more airy.

Very nice job! I like that you didn't over-feminize the room with frills, ruffles, etc. It is a pretty room but also comfortable for a man to sleep in too.

I know!! It is so pretty and I really didn’t want to paint it so when we decided to keep it we just went over the top with a light coat of stain to match it up with the original and it worked beautifully!!

Put a waterproof mattress protector on that bed...no one wants to climb into it after your son...or anyone else has slept on it
There is one on there. You must not have watched through all parts to see us put it on. But thanks for watching what you did. And the sheets get washed fresh before guests come, as any normal person would do.
I cannot believe that before you put the box spring down you did not vacuum under the bed and left your son's nasty lighter there, really? Guests will just love that. You should have put the bathroom items in the bathroom, easier for guests.
Too much clutter on the little white dresser but it does look nice.
