    This shocked the racing world when he switched to a Plymouth Arrow. And made it competitive 😊.

    i love it because he proved that a small block MoPar was still competitive in racing when others in Nascar gave up on it not going to name names

    Funny how Ford really didn't sponsor Bob enough and Chrysler basically bankrolled the PS Arrow and when they went broke (gov't bailout), Ford started paying more attention. Similarly, Plymouth built the Superbird back in 1970 to get Richard Petty back from Ford. Follow the money and the talent, folks! Love the video!! I wish there was more info out there on his engine and the development of the PS W2 SB MoPar!!

    The Olny reason he was competitive with the mopar was because of the weight break it received. The 351 Cleveland had to carry more lbs per cubic inch than ANY othe engine in pro stock racing.

    Lee Shepard run small block and big block i think the big block was i believe was a 348 with 409:crank and other parts visaversa to make a light big block. He had a lot of success against Gliden

    • @CalvinWalker2000
      @CalvinWalker2000  Год назад +2

      He went back to a ford in 1980 after losing to Lee Shepherd in the first two events because the Ford was just slightly faster than the Plymouth.

      @@CalvinWalker2000 Not true, he went back to Ford because Chrysler went bankrupt that year. (although the Ford engine did make more power)
