This is one of the best lessons explaining both major and minor chords in mandolin in a very easy ,clear and simple way. Thanks alot. I would like to request you to kindly show us chords like G7, F#minor etc. and Chop chords in the same easy and simple way. Thanks again
Thank you very much! I can see myself referring back to this video, as I progress on my mandolin journey. (I just bought a mandolin, so I am a beginner - but I had taken guitar lessons for 2 months, so I know the basics for this type of string instrument. It is nice to see how to move the shapes)!
Crystal clear and man, I started off with a ukulele thinking it was easy, now I know I'll go for a mandolin. And try to remember both, picking and strumming. Thank you so much.
I'm trying to learn basic moveable chord shapes. Got the 2 finger bar chop chords down. Now to find an easy way to play major and minor 2 /3 finger basic chords. This looks great. Thanks. Dave S.
Mr. Emmer, thank you for such a clear and well presented video. I finally got a mandolin after searching for years, and it was really nice to learn some basics from your vidoes, and I look forward to more :)
Just found you! Thank you thank you thank you! This video I found to be way harder than the C/D/G chord video!😂 So I will be watching this one over and over and over! You are a fantastic teacher! After less than three minutes I knew 3 chords!🙏🏻❤️🎶 I have just been reunited with a mandolin in my family since the 1940s! Eager to be best friends with it now! Looking forward to your future mandolin lessons!
Hi Nicole, thanks for watching and yes, these chords are more difficult than the open G, C, and D, but they're pretty useful and fun once you get used to them. Thanks again! Enjoy playing!
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Kylo Nikolai I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks for this. I just started playing but have a left hand issue that does not allow me to be able to grasp the traditional chop cords. I’ve been looking for something like this for alternative cord fingering so I can really start to focus on learning them. I’ve really been floundering around until now with playing cords.
Apparently bar chords are going to be a dosey for me, I have NO idea how to make one finger maintain an even pressure on four strings. So cudose I suppose, from my very limited point of view, that's very impressive.
Well presented, can actually see clearly the chords you are playing and it helps to have the chord chart to.
happy I could help!
This is really great. It's especially helpful for guitarists who are accustomed to bar chords for major, minor, and 7th chords.
