Hometown show! For 'Know Your Enemy', 'Longview' and 'Knowledge', Billie invited a fan to sing and play the guitar with them. 2 of the fans picked out were standing adjacent to me, lol. Many of the fans recognized each other from previous Green Day concerts. In fact, the kid who played 'Longview and J.A.R.' last year on the guitar and who was featured in the 'Spotify Landmark Series: Green Day The Early Years', was next to me in the VIP line.
For the VIPs, we received, among other things, the opportunity to watch the band sound check from the stadium's suites. Two of the songs sound checked were 'Homecoming' and 'Too Dumb to Die', but neither was performed. Like Oakland Arena, they have an early curfew at ~11:00, so perhaps there was not enough time before the scheduled fireworks.
Billie Joe (during ‘Letterbomb’): OMG! We’re home! This is family! This is friendship! This is about home… Tonight, every song is about home! The East Bay! The entire Bay Area man!
To further celebrate the homecoming, the band held a Pop-Up Shop at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records in Oakland for 2 days, complete with exclusive merchandise, giveaways, free Oakland Coffee, and appearances by the Drunk Bunny and the A's Mascot, Stomper. Upon opening, there was a ~30-fan long line out the door. The first 250 Idiot Nation Fan Club members got 2 free tries on the carnival claw machine to win miniature stuffed pink or green drunk bunnies. Only 25 of the green bunnies were made and they were all in the machine. I aimed the claw to try to get one of those, but it didn't hold on :P I bought a pair of posters and they gave me a free Oakland Coffee tote bag, which was nice.

The opener was Catfish and the Bottlemen, who was actually scheduled to perform last year with Green Day at Oakland Arena for Not So Silent Night 2016, but they had to cancel. Many were looking forward to seeing them as well.

I really fucking love this video and here's why: Forever Now is my favourite song off the new album, probably close to being my favourite Green Day song, and probably just straight up favourite song in general.
I saw them live in Brisbane in May and was in the front, and while GD had dedicated fans in Australia (and just the whole world in general), I swear I was the only one who knew all the words to this and was singing along! Being that close to Billie and being the only one singing, it was like it was just me and Billie singing together! Such a good feeling, and screaming "I AIN'T GONNA STAND IN LINE NO MORE" was the best. Hearing everyone sing along and really feeling the energy captured in this video is amazing!

I love how at the beginning you can hear just the pick hitting the strings since you are so close.
I've listened to this song for years being perfectly aware it started with the line ''my name is Billie and I'm freaking out'' but for some reason I'm just making the connection now that it actually is.

I consider 2017 to be one of the finest years of my life and a big part of that was seeing these guys live here in san antonio. The concert here took place about a month and 3 days after this one I believe and catch fish&bottlemen opened as well. Lmao idk why but I started referring to them as ned and the needlefish (sponge Bob joke. ) and dude this part was fantastic. My favorite song to see them play had to be king for a day because I love the parade they throw on every time they perform that song lol ita like they spend 30 minutes just doing weird hilarious dances and randomly bouncing to different classic songs

Saw them when they came to Raleigh, North Carolina. Had my tickets a month prior to them coming, it was my first time seeing them live, and it was easily the best concert I’ve ever attended! Can’t wait for them to come back to North Carolina!!!

I've been to Green Day concert for the second time November 2nd 2017 in São Paulo (Brazil), the first time was at the same place, October 20th 2010. Watching this video makes me feel nostalgic. Green Day is my favorite band, thank you for uploading this video.
