Yield and Overcome, bend and be straight, empty and be full, wear out and be new, have little and gain, have much and be confused. One of the great lessons from the Tao, love to see it encapsulated here.

If you are a creator, "Believing in possibilities that do not exist" should be at the cornerstone of whatever is being built... Another bomb interview with Brad! For me, it is imperative to give myself permission to release the need to feel unworthy. I have allowed my value to be defined by external forces that do not hold the key to the doors of my opportunities. It is really the principle that in the past, I have put the key in the hands of those that are not worthy of believing in what I believe... At least not yet. Namaste to FC and Brad Rushing. Light is bursting through this video!

As an imaginative artist i believe it’s my role to believe in possibilities that don’t exist :D I do this in my art: I ignore the idea that ‘it’s all been done before and there’s nothing original’ - that’ll just defeat imagination and fresh experiences. In business it seems different. Thanks for sharing your ideas about this, you’ve put it in a way that seems to make more sense than the common memes. Maybe because I’ve struggled with acute shyness in a similar way. It’s an eye opener there’s a possible work around.

Amen to that. I would go so far as to say that these thought processes, or lack thereof, are one of the main things holding back our race and our planet from Evolution. It's like our whole human race is grinding by, trying to hold on by the skin of their teeth to their dogmatic beliefs... they are everywhere you turn...academia, religious institutions, the scientific community, business, governments... and all of the social divisions that come along with all that baggage. It seems to me that a certain stage of consciousness choice becomes a player in evolution... increasingly so as evolution persists.
      Let go.
      See the possibilities.

Trust in your own senses is powerful and beautiful and true and yes no one knows exactly how things work and have a reasonable idea.....at the same time, things do move according to cause and affect which we are causing through our constant biasing for sure and impossible to do otherwise. So irrevocably it seems we play a larger part than we are taught to believe in our reality and manifesting through beliefs is true. Life is not happening to us but through us. Thank you for these interviews and sharing wisdom. Much Love.

While these interviews cater for people who work in artistic and creative fields, I find them highly relatable to my current struggle for an academic career. Reflexibility is really the key to keeping your life goal alive. If we cannot separate the end from the means, we will find ourselves getting stuck easily and our dream drifting away.

Self-victimization is the ultimate disempowering move, since you're not feeling responsible anymore of what you're doing.
I feel like that's why I can't stand most political stances, it's always an oppressors/victims world view rationalization.

Cool interview. Insightful, and interesting. Brad Rushing is a lot more thoughtful, and worldly than most of the Cinematographers/DPs I have worked with. They as a breed in my experience are more 'left brained' and less empathetic/sensitive type people (not a bad thing) it is the nature of their work/job, and these are important characteristics to have to get the job done, and the film completed. I really like Film Courage. Respect.

I'm reminded of a pretty great movie... and more specifically a pretty solid scene in that movie.
A little boy has been lied to, led astray, and generally jerked around most of his life, and he's just hitting the tween years when he's dumped off by his mother and her boyfriend to live with his Uncles... and at some point there's more lies and he's not even sure what to believe, and one of his uncles comes out to talk to him...
"I usually give a kind of a speech about becoming a man, when boys are a little older than you... BUT I think you could use a bit of that speech just about now. You see... As we grow into adulthood, we CHOOSE to believe in certain things. We believe in them, not because they're real or true. We believe in them because they're WORTH believing in... like... Good always triumphs over evil. It's patently UN-true. We still believe in it. We still tell our children to believe in it, because it's a principle that's WORTH that belief." ~Robert Duvall "Secondhand Lions"
It's a cute little movie, and a solid "coming of age" viewing, especially with kids (and TEENS) in the house, even if it's a tad "corn-ball"...
I doubt any of us would be here, watching this with Brad Rushing if we DIDN'T believe in opportunities whether they exist or not... DAMN whether they exist or not. They're worth believing in! ;o)

That which is possible often laughs in the face of the more probable outcome.
I often find myself citing what is more probable, myself. It keeps me feeling sane.
But I wouldn't dare blaspheme the possibility gods.
