The history of Columbia Picture's intro! Speacial thanks to Ifrequire All the rights go to the original owners of the content No copyright infringement intended
They had a very funny opening logo for The Mouse That Roared. The torch lady shrieks, hikes up her gown and runs off leaving the torch dangling. At the end of the movie she returns to her regular pose. Also in Cat Ballou (1965) she sheds her gown to reveal a cowboy outfit and begins shooting guns. Truly inventive. Most goose bump raising use may have been for Lawrence of Arabia when the logo appeared on the huge screen in all its 70MM and 6 track stereophonic glory
3:34 I don't know if that particular version first appeared in 1980, but the clip is taken from a movie from 1982 (not 1980), a Chuck Norris movie called "Silent Rage."
The black and white ones all I can think of when I see them and hear thar music is The Three Stooges coming on. I was waiting to hear Three Blind Mice or that Listen to the Mockingbird song
Favorite is ‘95. Only subtle differences with 95,99, and 01. Nothing wrong with having music from the movie track for the opening , but I like the aurally that it’s definitely a Columbia picture.
1995: "This is it. We did it!"
4:55 when that legendary intro started
I love how the torch lady just smiled at the camera after saying "Zotz all!!"
The voice was so pretty
Zotz...what's Zotz?
What Year?

The reverse 6:14 intro is from the film “Big Fish”.
Danny Elfman’s score is so blissful!

I can’t imagine anything else coming on after the black and white ones other than The Three Stooges. Lol!
i take it 2012 was from the movie
'2012' and not from the year '2012.
it was in the mid 1990s that they brought in the piano.
The glow effect got like really bad from 1970 until 1995 came along and fixed it
After 1980, the rainbow in the background gets stronger and stronger. Complicated!

Grande Colombia
Hey what happened to the one with Cat Ballou, Bye Bye Birdie, The Trouble With Angels and Thank God It's Friday!!
Those are variants, I guess they didn't include the variants.
It's pretty obvious that they were trying to mimic 20th Century with the song used in the 30s. Very similar.
The 2001 may be a Disney one
