When you first play the game the family is disgusting and evil and little to no empathy goes to them but you learn here how sweet, kind and loving they were and it was only ruined because of Eveline

Most likely, if Eveline stayed put, Mia would either be sent home or to Tensu, and as far as Eveline is concerned, either Umbrella Corp would find her and kill her, or Tensu employees would've taken her back.
Yeah you're probably right. Mia would've still worked for Tensu, they would've asked her about the girl and she would've inevitably tell them the location of the Bakers' home, thus sending agents to kill her
But I still think the Bakers would've adopted her :P They're just that kind of family to me
NeoLedah Yeah, but given Eveline's nature, even if she was adopted before she went batshit, and even if Tensu / Umbrella Corp didn't ruin the fun, something at some point in time would've most likely triggered her to become a killer. Eveline is a ticking bomb waiting to go off. She killed an entire crew because she didn't want to be taken to the lab (semi-reasonable at best) and for all who she doesn't think is good enough to be her family, she kills them, and in the game, that could've potentially exceeded 17 people, not including the entire crew. She forced a guy's insides to rot out of his eyes, nose, and mouth, and killed him almost instantly by forcing him to vomit himself to death because he called her a name. And that guy was her surrogate father, or rather, the man playing the undercover role as her father for the mission. Think of what the hell Lucas would go through lol. It was only a matter of time before Eveline turned on the family anyways. May as well get it over with :P
It sounds to me like Eveline may have not actually known better to me, considering her sole life experience up to that point had been whatever nightmarish crap lies within the unnamed B.O.W. manufacturers' labs.
Doesn't explain what she did, of course.

Back in my day we had loading screens for every ol game you kids these days don't appreciate a 45 second wait for such wonders. When I played Final Fantasy 9 id have to call into work and inform them that I would t be in the next day.

Imagine if they decided to do a reworked ending If they were to do something like a legacy release of all of the current resident evil games all at once there could be a chance to do something like a few changes to some of the choices and maybe one of them involves saving the bakers from their deaths but the chances of that happening are 2% at a push but it does sound like a good thing doesn't it if they tweaked RE7s ending a bit

If you play in the main story with Ethan, in a cutscene which I don't remember what part, you will see Ethan is having a conversation with Jack. Zoe also was there, walking around. Jack apologized for what he and his wife done to him and he adviced Ethan to defeat Evelyn for good. He is actually a nice and decent guy and even feel guilty to try to kill Ethan many time.

Lucas was already messed up in the head way before the mold infected the entire family, if you look through his old bedroom (Snake Key, 2nd floor) and go inside the attic, you'll find a note that Lucas wrote himself about how he killed a boy who's bullied him in school. Lucas invited him to his "birthday party" and then locked him in the attic and left him there for several days until he died of dehydration.

And there are some lighters that actually work in the rain
To be able to fight the mutamycete like Marguret did shows how resilient she was to the infection. I like to think that's why she had one of the most twisted mutations, sort of like an extra dosage to make sure she doesn't break out again. The Baker family were so damn sweet its so sad that you couldn't save all of them.
I’d argue Jack was the most resilient. He had probably the most inhuman mutation and he shows multiple times he’s in kinda control. He stabs himself so he can’t hurt others and talks to Ethan in the dream/mold sequence.

They probably used motion capture in that scene with actual double doors. I doubt it was done according to the plot considering how small that detail is, but they must have decided to use it in the final product anyway so that it'd look more realistic.

Actually, it would be very interesting:
You enter the prologue as Eveline being transported on the vessel. Everything on the ship happens mostly the same, but instead of Eve being attached to Mia (who wouldn't even be present in this situation), she merely snaps and causes everyone on the ship to perish. Eveline is found by Jack and taken to the house, where she tells them how she has no where to go, so out of the kindness of their heart, the family lets her stay with them. She begins living with them as if they were her own family. And unlike in the game, she does not age rapidly.
During the 3 years she is present, Eveline begins gradually losing control of her powers, and begins noticeably affecting the family members, eventually leading to their deaths, or converting them into molds. Zoe would be the only survivor due to her bond with Eveline being the strongest (and because she's one of the more interesting of the Bakers), and because of Eveline's traumatic experience, she becomes increasingly aggressive, and possessive, which would lead to the events of the game, where Joe Baker or a friend of the family (could be Mia/Ethan) ends up in the property, wondering why they haven't heard from anyone for some time.
It could probably end with Eveline finally coming to terms with herself and her powers, but before making the full turn, Chris Redfield and Umbrella show up and kill Eveline.
That would have been Groovy !
