Ok now this is a concept I love for a new series! Modern fragrances can be an ocean of mediocre blue crap to navigate but damn it, classic fragrances can be an ocean of watered down mothball water. I'd love a guide on which ones are worth getting today, vintage hunting is just not my cup of tea, had too many duds early on.

Great episode. Some new stuff and good tips an Antaeus. I’m really interested in Rose Cuir now. Was a big fan of Ellena’s Rose Poivre back in the day.
You should check it out fot sure ... a beautiful green floral with fruity Blackcurrant & "leather" ... a really elusive fragrance for some but I love the stuff.. it is one of my favorite Ellena frags along with Bel Ami Vetiver & Cuir d'Ange 😊

Really interested to try that Stories collection from Lapidus now. You know the ones in the Berdoues bottles? Supreme Desire and Sensual Hero at the top of the list. Won't lie....Wild Attraction might be a take on Layton, but even that one would be worth trying if they've still got their game on. If you can somehow grab a sample set Ramsey, you're the one I would absolutely trust with the impressions. 🙏

I recently bought the current version of Animale for women and it’s still gorgeous! There’s a parfum version that I had no idea existed too. The women’s version is a floral chypre with a heavy dose of civet.

Dear 🐏, what a great initiative. Current Lauder and Heritage EDT ara truly great frangrances and can easily go unoticed due to not carrying 3 digit prices. This is great public service my friend.
Pulling the trigger on Animale Animale after this. Quorum is def not for me, but I can see it being hugely loved by many.
If there's more iterations of this "pilot", would love to get your impressions on Coriandre by Jean Couturier - I smelled this decades ago from my grandmother and current EDT is so amazing I would appreciate some perspective on this.

Although I will say if you buy the current Heritage or Zino and love it I would still rec hunting down the vintage of some of these as they are just amazing. 🤌🤌🤌
I wore Zino last week, new formulation, and you're right, it's amazing. And just today, I received Animale Animale and will wear it tomorrow. The other I picked up earlier this week is Bogart Pour Homme, again, amazing. So good to hear your in-depth reviews of these fragrances. I'm ordering Lapidus Pour Homme tonight, can't wait to wear it too!

Yeah I totally agree ... but for the people asking for this video and where to get good "Vintage Fragrances" that are still good in their modern form, these are a good 5 to start with and then they can dig deeper if they want to take the next step and go for the deep vintage 😊
This would be an amazing series of videos. I love 70’s and 80’s vintage scents but it’s hard to know what you’re getting on eBay etc. more please!
Hard to keep going as I dont stumble upon many of these vintage frags in modern formulations that are worth it often... but I will try to keep this video idea front of mind 🤌🤌🤌
About Heritage EDT, the new square bottles are similar to the 2016-2021 ones (listerine bottle)? I don't know if I should buy a brand new one or look for those bottles around 2018.
If you can get the listerine bottles for cheap do that as its a known commodity ... i have never smelled Habit Rouge / Heritage EDT or Vetiver in the new square bottles 🤷🏻♂️

Man, I just got a sample of vintage JP Sublime and now I'm in my house like "where is my wife" but I live alone and I have never been married haha, beautiful perfume, but no way I could pull this one off!
I bought bunch of mini bottles of vintage guerlains too, hope they arrive soon and also got recently 8ml of Bel Ami and it's a great blue collar work scent, I might have to buy a bigger bottle. Thank's for introducing these great frags and thank's for the video, much appreciated!
I love Sublime ... its not as feminine as you might think at first... its such a beautiful chypre
Bel Ami is one of my favorite perfumes of all time 💪🐏
Amazing stuff...I have all of these except Lauder.I agree with Lapidus pour homme...it's a monster powerhouse...I love those perfumes because they're statement makers,stuff from different era,but stil so good.And how they're making them so cheap??I encountered Lapidus pH first time in in 1992.And I love Guerlain Coriolan.Another underrated gem.

Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men is a good one here. I tried a 2018 bottle and it's excellent.

@@RamseytheRam The Ted Lapidus might be worth me looking into as I think I have seen it at stores here (Australia) unless there are others in the Ted Lapidus line.
I wore a Shulton vintage Mandate today, which would fall into the exact opposite of this video, if compared to the current Eden Classic one.

Haven't bought any fragrances in a few months, needed a break (well, my wallet did) but I'm def just blind buying Lapidus tonight. Might throw in a couple other old school cheapies. I really enjoy Herrara For Men. I have many expensive bottles but I burned through HFM in 6 months. Maybe it's not your style, idk, but I love it. Reminds me of being in a department store in the 90s but at the same time I never smell anything like it on anyone nowadays. Familiar but not common. Thanks for this list!

I have a question. So I went to that perfume shop by my house again and they had some cool stuff. I got a bottle of lagerfeld cologne,.well,it dose not say lagerfeld classic or lagerfeld cologne. It says lagerfeld eau de cologne. No classic,but not just cologne. Anyway it smells really good. Paid 7$ for a 30mil. I got a set of Stetson splash with Stetson and Stetson black and Stetson caliber all in one package, plus the older style splash bottle 100 ml of Stetson. And I got a old splash bottle of English letter. All under 10 bucks. And I got a bottle of boss number one. I can't find the batch code for the boss number one but it's has a sprayer not a splash. I smelt it once before briefly in the newer version and I'm pretty sure this is at least a little bit older than that one because it smells way skankier and animalic. I love it. A new favorite! I got a Giorgio Beverly hills something in a black bottle but it doesn't say the actual name I'll have to research it. Also got another bottle of Oscar de la Renta pour Lui for 6 bucks. A 50 mil. It's not vintage but older than my newer one. Anyway do you know what lagerfeld version I got? It looks exactly like the lagerfeld cologne bottle but says eau de cologne ,not just cologne or classic. Anyway awesome video tell me what you think about the lagerfeld

Fun fact: Donald Trump released a cologne sometime in the late 90's/early 2000's that uses the same flacon as Lauder For Men. It has the old school all gold cap like you mentioned.

Love these heads up vids,gotta a grab a couple I don’t have Animal Animal for sure,got eventually,took forever to arrive lol,Tabu from Dana in a bottle style you got ,its beautiful however it states cologne on box and bottle ?? Came from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 so the stickers on bottom of bottle is in Chinese ( who’d of thunk it lol) and it’s a splash and edt and has the classic small hole opening to control and the fragrance amount right ,so I’m thinking it’s definitely aimed at the masculine market however I thought it was a feminine fragrance weird yeah ???.anyway it is a genuine article everything is age appropriate box,bottles ageing on both it’s a partial 80 % full an enigma to me for sure cheers Rams food for thought 🙏👍✌️

I absolutely agree with you about modern Kouros. I wore Kouros in the 80's as a teen. It was amazing! Last year I bought a modern version. Wow, the vintage blows away the current one. I was disappointed with how it smells. TLPH is much better than current Kouros.
Btw, is Lauder for Men(current version) similar to Cerutti 1881? I would imagine it's better. I'm ok with 1881.
The modern 1881 is more citrusy ... i prefer Lauder for Men

For Shalimar I prefer an edt from the 60s or 70s to a pdt from the 80s or 90s. Shalimar's PDT is not what I expected to be honest, I gave it to my mother. I think Guerlain did a better job with the pdt in Mitsouko which I enjoy more than the Shalimar
Man for me the PDT & EDP of Shalimar made my top ten... of all time! 😂😂😂

@@RamseytheRam Oh shit, I'm really sorry Ramsey. To be honest, I'm by no means saying it's bad, but the very old edts which were the second concentration in Guerlain were fabulous. I recently acquired an edt L'Heure Bleue which has impressed me in the same way that shalimar 70s edt did.
No offense taken at all... whats funny is I usually prefer the EDTs of Guerlain.. but Shalimar is the exception where I love the EDP / PDTs
Nice video pal, lapidus is still ok, boss no.1, aramis, ADC colonia, versace l'homme, many others but for how long until these get reformed to death, be a sad day.

Sat in the carpark while waiting for the wife to do some grocery shopping...I'm not wearing any perfume. Oh my what's this in my pocket? probably 1981 splash bottle very aged...4 large sprays inside the car. Oh man you should have been there...the wife gets in and on the way home I had to open the window its still banging out now. Can Roja make it like this?

I find it fascinating that perfumes are, often, formulated either for men or women, as some of the notes of these would be right up my alley, as a woman, but suspect I'd recognise they would be better suited to men. I wonder how perfumers came to that division in the first place?
You know whats funny is I read that the notes for Men or Women have also changed over very long time frames ... I am talking about over 100s of years.. rumor is in the 1700 and 1800 hundreds Lavender was considered a feminine smell... now it is in probably 40 to 50% of all masculine perfume.... Rose was considered a masculin flower back in the day too before it flipped to a feminine note ... its just crazy how it really seems more to do with trends and what is "In" rather than any hard case of this is a fem. note and this is a masculine one... interesting topic indeed 🤔👍
@@RamseytheRam it really is. My philosophy is I'll try a masculine fragrance whose notes appeal to me on the off-chance that I'll like it and can wear it easily.

Guerlain Heritage is similar to Zino.Beau de Jour is copy of Zino,just drydown of Zino is still best..Heritage last short.not even 5h.
I dont know if you have smelled the vintage gold cap Heritage but it easily last 8 hours on my skin... i smell it all day although I usually reapply

I think it has a special place, because it has a distinctive smell and also it was created in the year I was born. For some reason I'm more attached to fragrances that were released in the year I was born :)

I got a vintage Shalimar EDT and it reminded me of vintage Lagerfield Classic. Tell me I'm not crazy or do you also see the similarities?
Well I personally think Shalimar is much closer to Coty Emeraude
Lagerfeld Classic smells more like the trend it inspired in the 80s CK Obsession, KL & KL Homme etc...

There is just a lot to smell.. sometimes things smell the same at first until you smell more... plus everyone's nose is different
