There is enough music showing the pretty side of life,Slayer shows you the ugly truth.
you are true slayer songs potray the TRUTH............ as well as most old school death and thrash metal songs
slayer sees through your christ illusion
The horror of reality and human psychology far outweigh the beauties.
There is never bad SLAYER, but SLAYER with Lombardo on drums is top shelf hot ass peak SLAYER.
fucking right! when Lombardo is playing you can definitely hear it and know it's him on the drums... that man is a legend
Dead skin mask south of heaven
Or Angel of death
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Nathaniel Cruz Instablaster ;)
@Jonas Alexis thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Atleast they pick a version of this with Dave and Jeff! R.I.P Jeff Hanneman!
South of Heaven, Skeletons of Society, Die by the Sword, Jesus Saves, and Bloodline.
ALL Those PLZ
I would add Dead Skin Mask, Divine Intervention, and Seasons in the Abyss.
Slayer has a lot of good songs though. It's difficult to just pick a few from among them.
I would say the same exact songs lol but in a different order. Skeletons of society then south of heaven
World Painted Blood!
Excellent playlist
I agree 100% with the lyrics. Can you imagine what this place would be like if we all agreed to choose logic over myth? It'll never happen of course and that's unfortunate. I'm grateful to bands like Slayer that astutely express the anger and disgust that too few on this planet feel. If everyone unequivocally shared faith, blood sacrifices and slavery, would still be go to resolutions in everyday life.
Well said. I agree as well. "Religion is hate, Religion is fear, Religion is war."
It would be the literaly the same!!!
@@sandorhartig3957 how so last I checked in a lot of places slavery is abolished and gone as-well with blood sacrifices so no it wouldn’t be the same at all
@@sandorhartig3957 No it wouldn't be the same.. Fine example of how it is when religion is a minority is Scandinavia and see how people live there.. Much better than in example Poland or Croatia..
Slayer at their best, OG Slayer members, Lombardo V8, Tom still headbanging, Slayer doing their best to shock the hell out of society. More SLAYER!!!!!
30:14 Vin: "How old is Tom Araya?" Well, he was born 6 June 1961, and *this* was recorded a short time _before_ it aired on 29 July *2006* ...so he would have been *45* years old at that moment. In *2010* Araya had an Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, which sadly meant that he _couldn't_ headbang anymore :(
@Chicago TRS black label society Black Sabbath
Vin has a lot more tolerance for religious criticisms than a lot of other religious people.
Hats off to you, big homie.
And the funniest part is that Tom Araya, the vocalist is a catholic ;)
I don't mean this to sound mean, but there's no way to get it across any better: Believing that Tom is a "christian" just because he said so, ironically sounds like typical christian gullibility. It's much more likely that he just wants to be controversial or maybe display how gullible people can be. I can see how someone who doesn't know the band very well could maybe somehow believe that, but it's just not rational to think that the singer of a band which is committed to piss off religious people from minute 0 would be a committed christian. Either that or Tom doesn't understand what "christian" means, which I can also kinda see. (Not that I think he's dumb, he just seems mildly autistic sometimes.)
@@satanslittlehelper802 I can't find the interview right now, but tom a has said that he is very devout in his faith, and that the anti religion lyrics of some songs don't bother him because if it did, than he wouldn't be very sure of his faith after all.... basically he has no doubts about his faith, so singing a song won't change that. If I can actually find the interview, I'll link it.
here it is bravewords.com/news/slayer-frontman-tom-araya-talks-about-his-faith
@@krustbag1039 Okay, well then, let's assume he did mean his answer honestly, which still doesn't fully convince me, but what constitutes being a christian to you? Am I a christian, just because I claim to be one? Do you expect me to act in a certain way? It has to be more than just "believing in the abrahamic god", as jews and muslims aren't considered christians. It appears to be a semantic issue, but even I, not a christian, find Slayer's lyrics quite harsh and unnecessarily offensive sometimes. You should be able to understand that what you're singing and basically standing for as a frontman causes extreme friction with your supposed religious associates. He's just acting completely against his claims that they don't even really matter.
@@satanslittlehelper802 there is a very important distinction between christian and Catholic.
Catholic is the original church formed by st peter as directed by Jesus, and has a proven line of succession from the apostoles.
For Tom to truthfully claim he is catholic, it means he is baptised catholic and receives communion multiple times in a year.
Your argument that the lyrics conflict with his faith is null, singing a song that is anti religion is not a sin, and has no adverse effect on those that have strong beliefs.
The idea of sheltering people from art that might damage their faith, is a protestant christain one.

A real thrash metal MASTERPIECE!!!
That whole album is a masterpiece.
@@MorbidAngel31775 And its predecessor.. Sepultura 1987-1991 was arguably the greatest period of any thrash band, even above 1985-1990 Kreator, 1986-1990 Megadeth, 1983-1989 Metallica, 1984-1990 Slayer, 1987-1994, 1987-1991 Overkill etc.
Black Flag: My War if you want Rollins
Slayer - World painted blood
No sanctuary
And Americon off the same album.
SS - 3
Slayer Hallowed Point
The absolute, uncompromising rawness of this song is what makes it stand out.
Nice! Been a long time since you did Slayer. Dead Skin Mask or War Ensamble next please! And Helloween ☆ Keeper of the seven keys 🎃
I love listening to your balanced and well thought out analysis. As a Christian myself, Cult is one Slayer song that I do struggle to listen to (and I am a Slayer fan). Your commentary brings a little more perspective.
Why are you christian?
R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman!
Man you can hear the difference when they were all together . So tight . Lombardo just killed it .
R.I.P A.O.D R.I.P FU&KING SLAYERRRR
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
Christ illusion is one of their best album. I love Final Six
Amen brotha, Final Six is one of there best songs ever. Why doesn't more people react to other SLAYER songs that are not so mainstream ? SLAYER NEVER MADE A BAD SONG. React to them all please ?
@@slayerstacker2074 they really haven’t. Every single one of thier songs just instantly drops my jaw
Everytime I hear "I'm Sori" I keep on thinking "Why are you apologizing?"
I can't be the only one.
Like she is apologizing for Vin being there.
I have asked for Henry Rollins... but with Black Flag! RISE ABOVE!!
The non Black Flag and non SOA song by Rollins that I like is Shine off of his album Weight
It's good to see Jeff. R.I.P
SLAYER isnt Slayer without all 4 original guys
Keep in mind, tom (singing) is a devout Catholic, don't take the lyrics as the views of the whole band.
kerry is the anti theist in the band.
Also they like to write songs that piss people off haha (ie disciple)
That song is just about describing an organised religion they said. Or a “cult”
Jeff was an Atheist too, and Gary is an Atheist as well. Not sure about Paul, but I think I read somewhere that Dave is a reborn Christian.
@@Gregbaltzer the distinction is that an anti theist has disgust for religions, where an atheist just doesn't believe in God.
@@krustbag1039 Everyone should be disgusted with religions though.
@@Gregbaltzer dave is a christian ?
Great reaction! Have to say I'm impressed how you, being devoted christians, can be so pragmatic. I am not sure that I could do that if I were that religious but it's really interesting to see how you are able to see things from all sides. If every religious person (including atheists and agnostics) were like this, the world would be a better place.
El otro día mi papá me vio escuchando esta canción y me hizo un problema
"Do you really think that we will get along when we get rid of religion?"
"yes cause that's one of many things we need to get rid of in order to get along eventually"
Sendu Agree It has destroy the Word. GOD HAS KILLED IN ALL ways.
Black Sabbath - Into The Void
do Mandatory Suicide by Slayer!
I love that you put so much thought into kerrys lyrics, haha....
kerry's writing is simple, "whats gunna piss the most people off"
Eyes of the Insane is a more lyrically rich song from the same album
Not true, there is quite a bit more to it than just "what's gonna piss the most people off"
Especially with this album...he had shit to say and for good reason
stop giving kerry all the credit for solos, both him and jeff solo on most songs... RIP Jeff Hanneman
yea and jeff wrote alot of material for slayer if not most of it, like angel of death, r.i.p jeff, always the good ones that pass.
Jeff was the fastest out of 2.
@@MorbidAngel31775 fastest, since when was music a competitions you poser
Nergal from behemoth has said on many occasions that extreme metal has turned into very much like a SPORT.
He did all the solos on this album
Whenever its anti-religious lyrics its usually Kerry King that wrote it because, well, hes kinda anti-religious. Whenever the lyrics are about war and murder och social issues its usually Tom that wrote it because he finds it interesting. And just like you said, Tom separates what his band does from his faith. Whenever he "blasphemes" by singing anti-religious lyrics he doesnt see it as blasphemy, its just him telling a story through music.
Well, if catholicism is true, I guess it all depends on how god feels about it.
I'm on a Vin & Sori marathon today. I still love this channel....when I first discovered this channel back when u guys had 10, 000 subs and now 108!! Congrats guys!
slayer- dead skin mask, skeletons of society and seasons in the abyss or pretty much anything of seasons. It has to be their best work!
The reason why people aren’t asking for Henry Rollins is because he usually to busy talking about himself already!!!! 😺😂
Yeah do all death metal maaaan rrrraghh reraggh raaaaaahhhhhhh!!!
one of my faves of theirs, i really liked christ illusion as an album.
Iron Maiden "Infinite Dreams" (studio version)
3:44 Best reaction EVER while listening to mah boys in SLAYER. (New sub, just for that reaction!)
Ahaha LOL 😃😃😃😃😃😃
when I listen to bands like this, I dont worry about the lyrics, I just love the noise, beat, guitar, drums, voice. Im a Christian to but I separate myself like you said. I have two death metal bands that I have myself. One of my bands is a Christian death metal band called "book of Enoch", the lyrics are more Cristian based. My band "Dark Famine", this is all death and destruction. None of my music has nothing to do with the devil or 666, or anything like that. I reject bands and lyrics like that.
you gotta admit you were both grooving to this track , Love Slayer !!!
He's not a Christian he grew up in a Catholic upbringing totally different he's not practicing religion.
Tom said in an old interview that he was raised Catholic and that is somehow translated into him being a religious person in the present. I think he's probably more indifferent to the god question.
Cool, it's awesome that you listen to this break it down and actually took the time to educate yourself on the members of the band.
Well done..
React to Repentless by Slayer, the music video. They play in the middle of a full prison riot!
they need to do back to back reactions of that whole video trilogy
Tom Araya is a Catholic Christian. He’s said that when it comes to singing, he puts his belief aside, and sings the words that are just words. When it comes to anti religion and satanic lyrics, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman wrote those songs
All wars are not religious. Territory (and obviously power) is also a very big cause.
The biggest difficulty I have in critiquing religious groups is understanding how people speak about theirs being the ‘truth’ when everyone can’t be correct.
BLACK FLAG- MY WAR (classic ROLLINS)
Wait, did I hear Sori say the baby should be here any week now?
Holy shit, time went by quicker than I thought.
Also., Tom says they make music like this mainly to fuck with people.
I consider myself a Christian I like listening to Slayer to blow off some steam. It pumps me up. So many people use religion to justify their own carnal thinking.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a metal band that speaks out for christian beliefs more than Slayer. Understanding Evil or evil's perspective doesn't make you evil. Slayer's music is all about what's coming in the book of revelation. They are more anti abortion, anti war, anti all of it. Singing about it doesn't equate to siding with it. It slaps people that are asleep and allows them to see whats happening in the world around them. Understanding Evil doesn't make you evil. It does equip you to fight it much better.
Second chorus the original studio version says "the target is fucken Jesus Christ I would have led the sacrifice and nailed him to the crucifix"
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, Dead Skin Mask, In the Name of GOD, Bitter Peace, Overt Enemy
Slayer - Repentless (official video - many others have reacted to it without copyright issues)
Slayer - Read Between the Lies, is a good tune for Slayers views on the whoring of religion.
Slayer is still on their final tour...it is supposed to come to a conclusion in Los Angeles this December.
As for religion...no doubt some powerful people use religion as a tool to accomplish ends. This probably puts a stain on religion for many.
Araya has said that God understands that this just sounds cool and He is forgiving. Their lyrics doesn't have nothing to do how he feels about God. And I respect that, God is how you want to believe in Him.
Great reaction guys would love a reaction from you on sepultura refuse an resist an as always keep it real peace out 😁😁
I think Sori you will especially love this: It’s time you reviewed a second QUEENSRYCHE (another Seattle band) song. Vin loved ‘Eyes Of A Stranger’ last year. I recommend ‘Silent Lucidity’ their biggest hit. It went Top 10 in 91 and was nominated for Grammys and AMAs and nominated for 5 MTV Video awards, winning one, beating R.E.M.s Losing My Religion in the Viewers Choice category. It is a beautifully lush ballad with strings by Michael Kamen of Metallica fame as well as many film scores. The album Empire went triple platinum and is their biggest seller, even though ‘94’s Promised Land debuted at number 3 on Billboard. Queensryche is a band that deserves your attention. You will love it so much I think. Video is great too. Please use the studio version or official video version. No good quality live clips. Trust me. Sooo good.
SLAYER FUCKING FOREVER!!! 666!!! R.I.P. JEFF HANNEMAN WE MISS YOU!!
You two are blessed to be asking such precise
Black Flag - Rise Above live
1st wave of Black Metal
New Wave of Black Heavy Metal
Its probably tough to understand as devout christians how someone who is (say for example catholic) can perform a song like this. But since the beginning Slayer's modus operandi has been to shock and cause a visceral reaction to people who hear their music. Its pretty clean when you listen to a song like Dead Skin Mask that quite alot of this is for effect and show. But it doesn't mean there isn't some hard truths being spoken in this and in other songs. Its always sad to see riffmaster Jeff Hanneman, he is definitely missed.
That said I don't think you guys have done any songs from slayer's best record yet, Seasons in the Abyss. War Ensemble, Seasons in the Abyss, and Dead Skin Mask are all legendary songs and among the best in Slayers entire catalogue.
To answer your question Vin, I think if we got rid of the church then we would see alot less pain and suffering. Religion? No. Humanity needs something to believe in, even if that belief is not believing in something. And maybe thats my deistic bias, because I think if everyone basically formed their own religious ideals and weren't busy trying to force them on others, the world would be largely a better place. Which isn't to say it would end wars, or it would end suffering. It would do neither. Though it doesn't surprise me that you would think the world would be worse off without the church. I believe it would make the world a better place without it, but I also don't believe in original sin. I would guess that if you are a proponent of original sin, then you would think that the world couldn't possibly be a better place without organized religion.
Also there is a big gap between "Carpenter named Jesus existed" and "Jesus as the christians know him to be, never existed" .
I always chuckle when Tom says at concerts they're going to play a love song ... "Dance with the dead in my dreams ... "
Happy I got to see them on their last two passes through my general area (central NC.) Hoping they extend their farewell tour for an additional US leg that might swing them nearby again. Some shots I got during the whole day in Charlotte, NC last June.

Pantera - Primal Concrete Sledge live in Moscow
Death - Without Judgment
I am a Christian and I understand this song. Religion is bad it causes wars hate, suffering, etc. Jesus and God do not care about “religion”. What most people don’t think about is that religion is a very broad term. Anyone who has hope, has prayed, been to church, taken communion is “religious” something I struggle with is people who don’t want to accept Jesus. God would still love and respect that person’s choice however he would be sad but I feel defeated when someone doesn’t accept him. Another thing that could be helpful to remember in this song is what you said every race religion culture there are good people and extremists in every category.
This was before 2010 Unfortunately in 2010 tom had back surgery recovered but couldn’t head bang like he did anymore to this day.
This final tour ends later this year but u never know they might extend it🤞
apparently there is no historical document that mentions Jesus other than the bible ...youd think for such a guy with crazy powers people would be writing all sorts about him.
Slayer - Mandatory Suicide, Dead Skin Mask, Read Between the Lies, South of Heaven.....Go!
I express anger at god? I wish I had that luxury. Trying to be pissed at something non-existent makes me feel angry at life and mentally simple for praying to nothing. I was a baptist for abt 20 yrs. Dont think I'm a satanist either, no god? No satan either.
Y’all are a such a beautiful couple!!! God bless you both!! My girlfriend and I are both Christians but I’m the more metal one!😂😂😂😂
Serious that awesome

Thomas Ackerly you gotta see the faces on people when they see a cross on my neck and hear the metal songs I hear 😂 metal! Best kind of music🤘

Still loving slayer music hiding behind you're Christian mask
...As for the innocents, I've had a simple simple list for my *now* 8y.o. since he was 3 and had to fix it.
1. We tell the truth.
2. We be kind.
3. We keep our promises.
4. We follow the rules.
It was the best I could do for the moment as a single Dad.
Father helped me. Maybe this helps someone else.
Im a Christian and I love Slayer, and is their singer. They are not satanists, even though some of their songs talk about satan, as does the bible. They sing about the dark side of humanity, cause it definitely exists, but they do not promote it in any way.
Even if the bible doesn't encourage war (if correctly followed), god is at perpetual war against his own creation.
even the cristians cant resist headbanging on dat riff
Lamb of God & Napalm Death are two of the best bands for the criticism you’re looking for.
At last!😊

SLAYER!!!!!!
He is NOT Christian he is Catholic there is a big difference
Gojiraaaaaaaaaa - Of blood and salt
And while you're at it... Slayer - Postmortem! ;)
In 1986, _Postmortem_ was *the* most bad-ass song of all time. Even _now_ its still pretty frakkin' bad-ass, and as art, has stood the test of time.

Toms Catholic not Christian
Catholicism is a Christian denomination.
Christopher Carty fair enough
Christopher Carty
Catholicism is not like Methodist or Presbyterian it is it’s own deal though not far removed from one another.
Just like Baptists are Christians, Catholics are Catholics.
He's a Catholic, he doesn't engage into his lyrics. He explains, he is singing from anothers point of view, giving their opinion from what the song is saying, Much like Angel of death is singing what happened in a historical manner, not condoning what happened.
