I wonder why they want to take photos. It has happened to us in Japan (a girl), Egypt (a family) and New Zealand ( young Asian tourists), all very kind.
My impression is that the Japanese, esp the older ones, are just very considerate and helpful. For example, my friend & I were staring at a map in a Japanese train station and we must have looked lost. All of a sudden, a middle aged gentleman (a commuter) came up to us and ask if there is anything he can help us with. So sweet and definitely not an ordinary gesture in my country (Philippines). I love Japan!
I've seen plenty of stories from female english teachers in Japan experiencing unsafe situations. Even though it's much less common, it's still a thing.
The face shields for changing rooms are GENIUS - I used to work in retail when I was about 17 and I also got grossed out by the thick make-up streaks on tops. We have Uniqlo in the U.K. but we don’t have a lot of them (certainly not up North) so I always forget about it, but thank you for the reminder! I love the simplicity of their stuff and it’s always excellent quality. I am going to enjoy this video with my lunch 😊

I love the musical road! When we went to Mt. Fuji my boss told us about the musical road, that you have to maintain a certain speed on that part of the road so that we can hear Fuji-san sing. And it was amazing! I was happy to hear it 😍 also, can I be a potter as well? 😊 Learning japanese is hard, but I think the more you converse with the locals the more you can learn. Keep going and the best of luck! 💪💪💪

In Australia we just have bumps on some main roads/highways that make a loud noise in case you fall asleep and drift off the road. $25 for the toll each way seems so expensive!
