Lucy!!! Those films are so tied up with memories of childhood. She is still so recognisable, and sooo pretty, yes in the superficial aspect but also beyond that. Her facial expressions and voice for one. Such a great actor.

Georgie previously directed an LGBTQIAP+ short in 2016 called "Tide", in which she also starred, but was not the lead.

The only thing is I don’t get the specification lesbian short film, this is an universal theme, and i think it can stand on its own without a label.

rewatching this and i'm floored. the beauty, passion and longing is captured so incredibly well.
where did you get the inspiration for this? and how did you decide to divide it in 3 parts and arrange it the way you did? it's so wonderful and wanting to write and direct a short film myself, coming up w these bits is so challenging to me. i have so much admiration and love for your work.
thank you so much for this thoughtful comment and i'm so glad you enjoyed the film!!! to answer your questions: I'd been wanting to do some kind of fragmented sappho project for a few years (after adapting a shakespeare sonnet for the screen, I felt like she was the next logical place to go, and then separately i'd had an idea for two separate films from diff perspectives of two characters in love (so you only know it's requited if you watch both) -- and then i had the opportunity to film something in london and the two ideas just collided!
i wish you the best of luck with your short film endeavors!! it's such a bizarre and wonderful process!
