You need to enclose everything prior to the /2a in brackets. Also, since you are using a / rather than a horizontal fraction bar, you should enclose the 2a in parentheses.

Wouldnt have a clue what the quadratic formula was if someone was to ask me. I do remember some things from school but that is definitely not one of them nor have I ever had a use for it in my life.
