    I love the pump segment. Helped me , unreal . In this one pump move , longer , straighter, increased lag , now I don't even think about the arms , the bump is now my swing starter , the arms follow the hips and whip the head thru the ball . No brainer, LOVE IT

    Great video. I use a club caddy. It gives you so much information. When i took a 5 year gap between playing golf. The caddy really helped identify how much inconsistent i was. Then I had to go back to drawing board. After 5 years of practise. I am back to my college days.
    I use to use foot powder to determine where the ball striked the head of the club. Foot spray gives instant application and results.

    Another great video, many thanks. How do we get the release, like Tiger, but not flip? I have also been working on your drills to compress the ball and get forward shaft lean. When I try to accelerate the club head through impact I tend to get flippy. Any hints on how to avoid this?

    Sir, what a great informative video. I was wondering if you have ever used the swing caddie indoors with almost golf balls? Are the numbers the same as real golf balls?
    Thanks again for all of your useful videos.

    You are brilliant Adam, does the left leg (while the takeaway) play also a big role (loading power) for this ?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  2 года назад

      Thanks Uschi, I’d say the left leg should ‘release’ a bit as the torso pivots in the takeaway. You’d have to make some swings in front of a mirror to dial in the feel you want

    • @3spressoShot
      @3spressoShot 2 года назад

      i would say other then getting the left hip towards the ball you want your left leg passive. and then on the down swing is where you really transfer weight and activate that leg

    I had a Swing Caddie SC200 plus, returned it. Told me I was hitting 90ish yards total with my driver as I was watching it go 170-190 yards before landing. It was also saying my driver swing speed was 47-66mph, when a GC2, Top Tracer and Flightscope Mevo pegged it at 86-93mph.
    How accurate is that 300i you had in the video compared to the Flightscope you have?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  2 года назад

      Wow, not sure what was wrong. I've seen a number of tests with Swing Caddie and the 300i that were pretty accurate when compared with Flightscope. I'm afraid you must have had a faulty one.

    Can you pls clarify for many of us passive hands was taught by many teaching pros back in the 80s and 90s and the body will square the clubface and now hold and drag is the hottest concept for playing great golf which seems to parallel that earlier concept i have tried all my life to make passive hands work with no sucess i see you recommend active rolling hands through impact and follow through like many of the top professionals recommend image's of Tiger show his hands rolling over is a must pls help tks

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  2 года назад +2

      George,
      What counts is what the club does (to the ball), not what the golfer is thinking about. If you frequently leave the club face open then try to roll it closed etc. Personally I tend to swing to much in to out, so I key of swinging more around my body after impact. In other words focus on what you think will help your impact.

    Hi Adam, another great video! Any opinions on weighted clubs for training or other speed training devices? Do I really need to spend 2-300 dollars on these things? I have the swing caddie 1-300, very accurate with my irons, but I went for a fitting with Taylor Made and they compared my numbers to theirs (Trackman) with my dirver, and they claimed my swing caddie numbers with the driver were way higher than their trackman numbers.

    is that long stretch of your right shoulder making it go internal? or is it still external andnits just a bigger turn?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy

      It’s combined with the turn. The right shoulder would retract more back into the spine/center

    Fine reminders ,ADAM .What makes the ball fly faster is the ACCELERATION of the club head when it makes contact with the ball;,not the SPEED of the club head (Remember law of physics :Force = Mass x Acceleration o) So what counts is how much the club head accelerates in the the last inches before contact with the ball is made .Start the downswing slowly and make your body turn go its fastest possible only when you are about to reach the ball, the release being a result of this acceleration .Springing from a "sit " position to an extension on the lead leg with the left foot tuning over (like JORDAN SPIETH ) adds to this acceleration .Nobody seems to remember the peculiar and unusual swing of LEE TREVINO who did this perfectly to great effect

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  2 года назад

      Thanks for the comment Raymond.
      3D motion capture proves that the body has to decelerate to transfer energy to the club. That said if the image of acceleration helps you then go with it
      Best, Adam

    • @raymondchastel9503
      @raymondchastel9503 2 года назад

      @@Scratchgolfacademy Yes ,you are right ,I didn't express myself properly :the BODY decelerates ,it "unloads" the acceleration ",because the acceleration is flowing from the body to the club head through the arms then the wrists ,and then the shaft

    • @raymondchastel9503
      @raymondchastel9503 2 года назад +1

      @@Scratchgolfacademy There's another mathematical explanation I should mention :
      When you move the body and the club in the back swing with the club head far from the body at the top of the swing ,you build up torque :torque formula is Gamma (Torque ) =I (Moment of inertia of body plus club )x angular acceleration of body plus club
      Torque is built to a figure which reflects your energy output 'Your's is lesser than the one of DUSTIN JOHNSON :then when you go into impact ,your arms and hands get close to the body with the club and "I " (Moment of inertia decreases ,so angular acceleration goes up as torque remains constant more or less.So the maximum acceleration is transferred to the club head and then ball .Just look at a figure skater ,she rotates with arms wide open then she brings the arms back close to the body and she accelerates fantastically

    Hi Adam! Why am I more consistent in hitting my graphite shaft 9 iron but when I transfer to steel shaft 9 iron I could barely hit the ball purely and I always end up with a chicken wing?
    Love your videos

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  2 года назад +2

      Thanks Juan.
      Not saying you don’t hit the graphite better, but the odds of your swing really changing when you go to steel are very slim, it’s likely more feel that’s negative. I’d stick with the graphite.
