Dude, thank you! I had a tiny tiny piece of metal in the plunger. Great to be able to fix something with only an Allen wrench and a needle nose. Very helpful to watch someone take things apart ahead of time.
Great video. I borrowed my sister-in-law’s nailer and quickly jammed it up. The manual tells you to remove the front plate but says nothing about looking in the cylinder. Works great now. The only thing that I would add is to watch for the little black spring. I didn’t see it fly out when I opened up the top. Luckily I didn’t lose it.
Great. Mine stopped working just after I hit more than one nail in fast succession but did not look at the time and finished the job with regular hamer and nails. Will look tonight as I'll need the thing again.
Awesome video, thank you. My Porter Cable pin nailer is not up to the job, now I got an idea how to git er done. Thanks again for a no BS video, great job!
Thx. You gave me the motivation to take the cylinder head off and clean out some gunk and maybe a couple bug larvae that were near the top. No idea exactly what the problem was but it's working now.
I'm a stapler from Harbor Freights and the plunger always gets jammed I always need to get a little hammer and Tinker it down to go back in so yes again thanks for the video
Help! I have a new brad gun, worked for a day, now pressuring it up to even 140, it starts hissing air out of the relief on the very back of the cylinder (facing you is you hold it straight out like a gun.) That end has a plastic cap and it can be turned 360 to change the direction of the venting air. It will not stop leaking, and at anything up to 140, it simply will not "fire". Some difficult folks think it is junk and wanna tear it to pieces, I just think it might be something more simple. It likely was a harbor freight.
Maybe lack of lubricant in the cylinder or just a bad machining job. Running it at 140 sounds like trouble. If you bought it at harbor freight you should have 90 days to switch it out no questions asked.
Hi, I have an Airmaster pneumatic hammer for nails and staples that no longer knocks. Air comes out when the button is pressed, but it doesn't beat anymore. SUGGESTIONS?
Thank you! I disassembled it and found a staple that blocked the striker. That's why only air came out and it didn't hit the staples. I greased it and now it's very OK. I dared to open it after watching your movie. I said to myself: WHY NOT ???
Mine works but the problem is when I shoot once n go to shoot again it won't work unless I disconnect the air hose n plug it back again then it shoots n repeat to go shoot again
Sorry for the late reply. Is it well oiled? It sounds like maybe the piston is not returning properly. Could be lack of lubricant. Or debris in the cylinder, or a faulty O-ring. If there's no noticable issue than take it apart. Spray everything down with WD-40 let is soak for about an hour. Reassemble and see if that works. Hope that helps.

I have just fixed my nail gun that misfired thanks to this video. Turns out that a a piece of a broken nail was jamming up the gun. Big thanks !
my o ring was out of of track, pushed back and voila working again, thanks my dude!!
Thanks for that! It was easier to disassemble than I feared. Mine was gummed up with oil that had solidified like hard beeswax.... now like new!

Hi,
I have an Airmaster pneumatic hammer for nails and staples that no longer knocks. Air comes out when the button is pressed, but it doesn't beat anymore. SUGGESTIONS?
Hard to say without looking at it but my first recourse is always to disassemble it, clean it, and look for anything broken or corrosion.
Thank you!

I said to myself: WHY NOT ???
Glad it worked!
Thank you for the lesson you just got me out of a tight spot
Do u think this is typical with most air nail guns 16/ 18 gauge?
It's very common on the small gauge nail guns. Also guns not being oiled can make them misfire and jam.
Thank you so much , it was a bent nail. works great !
Glad it helped!
Very helpful. Thanks for posting. 👍
I have the same problem. Do you think I can try to take all apart with my Dewalt brad nailer?
Yes they are made to be serviced and most of them work similarly.
