ALL travellers should be doing exactly that. What I do is to bring some of my old clothes in an old bag that can be ditched locally . I hand out my used pants, shirts, socks, jackets or shoes to those living in the streets. On a worldwide basis, they are often totally ignored by the locals (despite this great initiative by Big Boy Adventures), and to see the smile on their lips when someone shows they care about them is simply priceless. Great video, Brennan!!

Thanks Lars. The whole experience was amazing but walking around the dark alleyways giving food to people that were really unlucky was an incredible feeling.

@@OliveOilandGasoline Definitely a giving experience! It would be great to see hostels actually promoting such activities, but on the other hand it could start with the charities reaching out to them first...

This by far is one of my favorite videos that you have posted. I'm also very much involved in contributing to one's that are less fortunate that I am. I do enjoy it Life and the joy that it brings but also wish for everyone around me to have this enjoyment as well. You see more episodes such as this period

Thanks Don!!! I need to fit more of this in my life. I did an earlier video on going to an orphanage in an Indonesian landfill where families live. It breaks your heart but people need help and there is more than enough of everything to go around.

So very true, we often forget how fortunate we are not to be in that position, and how easily we find ourselves in that position. Therefore whenever we can, we should aim to improve the lives of others around us, even for a short time. Thank you for sharing this thoughtful piece Brennan.

I definitely feel fortunate for the advantages I was given rather than earned. Life is hard but it's much harder if you were dealt a bad hand from the start. The strong should try to help the unlucky.

This is awesome Chef!! Very powerful and positive. Sometimes a wake up from reality and helping others makes for amazing memories. Being able to help others and feed others is such a great feeling and humbling moment. 🙏🙏🙏

Well said, it is humbling! From the outside it feels like it would be the opposite but you definitely feel lucky to be able to help someone and get a smile.

Impactful video! Seeing food be brought to those who could not come to distribution locations was powerful and uplifting.I can't even imagine how difficult their lives are. I always need reminders that people like yourself are out in the world helping others. It is to easy to watch the news and only see what shmucks are doing.I had a great time at Silver Lake with my brother and his family. We went to York Beach and his almost 17 yr. old son had his first lobster/lobstah! They were all impressed with the fudge and taffy at the Golden Rod.Love from Vermont

Thanks! Its funny how the algorithm hates it though. Its not getting much love at all.
I got emotional when I was handing out food to those sweet, incredibly unlucky humans. The strong should try to help the unlucky.

@@OliveOilandGasoline I've shared the video twice with my little band of Facebook friends and family. I shared it specifically with my oldest and dearest Windsor friends (twin sisters). I really like the idea of looking for ways to help local people when we travel. If you have more videos like this one I would really like to see them.Woodstock looks great.I went back and forth from Windsor to Barnard last week visiting my brother and family at the State Park. Thanks again for the video. It was very meaningful.
