    I've been to all the big cities in Southeast Asia, and I'd say Kuala Lumpur is more relaxed than Bangkok and Saigon, cleaner than Jakarta and Manila, and cheaper than Singapore.
    Yep, every city has its own uniqueness, pros & cons, but Kuala Lumpur is the best city for you to explore food and culture from all over Asia in one place, with family and kids. It’s like a sandwich of all the flavors in a discount price.

    Hi Zane! Selamat datang ke Malaysia! Hope you enjoy your stay here. Btw im an expert in Bahasa. As you mentioned a lot in your video about our Bahasa, actually in Nusantara (Malay Archipelago/ SEA archipelago) Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia speak the same language. Which is Malay with different accent. We can understand each other but a little different case with Philippines as their language is the same Austronesian family language but we cant really understand them. Only some words are the same meaning and pronunciation, the other are the same words but different meaning. For example, what you said about 'Selamat'. 'Selamat' in Nusantara is like a greetings or 'good'. Selamat pagi = Good morning. But in Philippines, 'Salamat' is Thank you😂 another funny things such as Selamat Pagi = good morning in Bahasa but in Philippines, Salamat pagi is 'thankyou, stingrays'. Then Ayam is chicken in Bahasa, Ayam in Philippines is Dog.😂 But there are a lot of similarity too. You can search if you find it interesting.🤗

      @@zanetravel Actually selamat by definition means prayer/peace/safe. When we say Selamat jalan in english it's basically' means safe journey. Depends on the context of usage it can mean safe, good or peace. Selamat tinggal means good bye/farewell; selamat pagi good morning; selamat tengahari good noon (if there is ever good noon in english, I don't know); selamat petang good afternoon/good evening; selamat malam good night.

      @@nrc468 Filipinos have their own languages (Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilonggo) but historically, Malay was widely used as the lingua france for trading purposes especially in the Southern Philippines. Most of them at the time can understand and speak Malay while also speak their own native languages, just like other ethnicities in the region. It is comparable with English in modern days, where everyone can at least understand and speak very little English.

    Jokes aside, I saw comments saying like "don't compare", "KL is KL", "KL is unique" whatsoever with few shown some kind of ...dissension? Well folks, it is normal to compare to something we are already familiar with, and noticed the similarities between the two. It is not comparing as different version but the impression they got when they see KL. That's just how our brain works... unless they never actually been to NY but saying KL is like the NY of Asia - which doesn't make sense in this context BUT base on the same context, this is totally probable 👉🏼 "Wow! This is like KL of America!" - by a Malaysian 😉

    Heck, I spoke to a call centre in Manila recently.
    If a poorer country wants employment for their unemployed, what better way than to have a popular lingua franca spoken within the country...like English.
    Malaysia actually did its citizens harm when it changed its medium of education back in the 70's.

      You talk like being able to communicate in English is something foreign to us Malaysian 😒 It's mandatory in our school, and our school is actually free. Plus, your assumption that Malaysia needs their people to go overseas just to be maids and low-skilled labours just to help their families back home.. What? Delusional, are we? Malaysian never have financial reason to move overseas the way Indo and Pinoy does. If they do, it's mostly due to LGBT reason, or chasing high-skilled jobs (USA data on highest race/country earners in USA proves this, Malaysian in USA earns higher than Japanese/Pinoy in USA despite being of way smaller number). While we do have Pinoy maids here, you never heard of Malaysian maid anywhere, do ya? Doesn't have to think so hard why, so you can stop your absurd pity in our "inability" to be maids overseas.

    • @shinachikudidnthappen..mov9196
      @shinachikudidnthappen..mov9196 Год назад +1

      We don't even want to be maids in our own country, what makes you so sure we dream of being one overseas just to "help" our family here? Just because your country sucks, doesn't mean your neighbour is as desperate. We don't have to sacrifice our own as maids just to be able to afford a living (ps, food, electricity, water bill, fuel is way cheaper in Malaysia since our government can afford to give subsidy. Can connect the dots now why we don't have to migrate to be maids?)

    Durian is part of Malaysian life. It’s a source of income as well as food. It’s our national identity. Accept it or leave.

      To ask people who can't accept durian to leave is a bit much, no? 😂 I myself can't eat durian, it's too heaty and cause immediate reaction if i eat it.

    Shisha is not popular throughout the country, it is only in certain big cities with shisha bars. KL has a lot of tourists and immigrants, so it is a melting pot all right.
