Maria hit the nail on the head when she made a point of saying Carnivore Influencers who are lean and in very good shape WITHOUT all the body fat to lose can eat the extra fat and be fine. But those with the fat to lose who are not so fortunate cannot get away with that. Just like other commenters have stated, trying that only led to weight gain. I think a very important point that Maria and Craig always make is that everyone's weight loss story is different. Their needs are different and that is what they teach us. There are so many great people here on RUclips to teach us but there are also a lot of "New Carnivore Experts" and it is easy to become confused. So educate yourself and it may take some experimenting to find what works but it is worth it. THANK YOU BOTH FOR ALL YOU DO!

You two are doing such a great service to us fatties because I have been watching those skinny girls who were never fat in the first place, talking about eating the butter... I have been fat since I was two years old... only a very few years of my life I was slim... I ate because of stress and needing comfort... emotional eating that led me to becoming a carb-addict... and so many people have no idea that carb addiction is real... I have been Carnivore for four and a half years worried all the time about not eating enough fat because of all these Carnivore people saying it is essential on this way of eating... but I never lost one single pound, even eating OMAD... one ribeye per day and maybe a couple of pieces of bacon... no... no weight loss... Thankfully I found you... Today, finally I went to your Macro page and found out I have 56% fat on my body... and I never realized that... I know I am fat... but holy-moly... no wonder I have not been losing weight I ate too much... a whole ribeye in one day!....

This makes so much sense to me. When I did low carb for a long time, it wasn't all the stick of butter. I did keto. No stick of butter. Came back to it all now and everyone is pushing down butter. And it didn't work for me. The PSMF really does work and because not every day is a psmf day, it's not even risky ❤

I just eat when I'm hungry. Lots of tri-tip mostly. Some days if I feel like I need more fat I will add several tablespoons of butter to my coffee.
Just had my bloodwork done after eating this way for almost three years. HDL up, LDL and triglycerides down.

This is the first video that makes 100% sense to me. What finally clicked is that in *any* case, high protein is good (and will also help make me feel full longer b/c, instead of fat doing that job, protein is doing that, which I also didn’t realize). NOW I also understand that if I have fat to lose (and I do, lol) “*adding*” way more fat is not going to help me “*right now*” as I’m trying to lower my body fat percentage, however, once I no longer need to loose fat, that’s when I start “*upping my fat intake for balance/maintenance*”. Mind blown because I’ve been experimenting w/this approach by chance (including making and eating your PSMF Hawaiian rolls, along with intermittent fasting) and I am actually seeing results, so thank you for your explanation (of the what, why and when). So I’ve been Carnivore 62 days and finally have been able to sleep after 10 yrs having to use meds thanks to Carnivore.
I’m staying the same weight so I tried Maria’s macro calculator and it had me at 1104 calories per day not on PSMF days. I didn’t sleep at all last night and the only change I made was following the macros. Finally, at 3:30 am I got up and did the TBsp of butter (Elizabeth Bright) & finally went to sleep. So as far as my system goes some butter & more calories is critical for my health. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@MariaEmmerich I put my measurements into your macro calculator and it said if you want fastest fat loss use the default sedentary that was already set. I used the butter (for sleep) at 3:30 am after I hadn’t slept all night after going that low in calories. At this point I value my sleep more than weight loss after not sleeping for 10 yrs without meds. I was sleeping fine on Carnivore & only one day of going that low in cal/fat/protein I didn’t sleep & that was the only thing I changed. Have you had anyone else like that? 🦋

I don't ever remember being suggested to do a stick of butter today, I do a teaspoon of fat once or twice a day, and then get the fat that's occurring in the protein that I'm eating, I never got the overdue fat from any of the people I've been watching and I haven't been where I've seen 85% fat I have seen 75% and I guess that's just because of the content naturally occurring plus the teaspoon of fat. It's working for me wonderfully I've lost 23 lb and 30 days, my also's tone definition is increasing, as my weight has been dropping I plateaued for a few days each week so I assumed that's when I was regaining muscle as I lost. I don't know, I'm just trying to learn first time that I got into trying to get healthy first versus losing the weight, and just went into this looking at it that if I focused on just getting healthy and eating nutritionally and getting rid of any and all garbage, I was just going to have the side effect of losing weight. And that's pretty much house but going. I'm watching a huge variety of people and I'm really trying to see when the information about What mechanisms is what foods and why. I think you need to reduce the fat and increase the protein. We also don't recommend OMAD as you don't get enough protein in one meal to maintain your muscle. We have seen several seizure clients, after being keto for a while and getting seizure under control, who can lower the dietary fat and increase protein and still have good seizure control.
