I was 10 when this song came out, dancing to it in my bedroom in front of the mirror trying to be like these 2 lovely ladies. These gorgeous ladies Agnetha ( the blonde) and Anni-frid ( the brunette) were famous child singers in Sweden, way before forming the band. The boys were also in Swedish bands. They are 2 married couples, they were married before starting the band. They are all still involved in music to this day, but not as a group. One interesting song of theirs is The Winner Takes it All. It was written by Bjorn and sung by his wife Agnetha just after they got divorced. The band broke up shortly after. They were considered to be POP, specifically Euro Pop. They won a contest in Europe with their hit song Waterloo which also burst them onto the music scene. They went on the be one of the most hit producing bands of all time, even to this day. Some favorites of mine, Chiquittita, The name of the Game, Take a chance on me, Lay all your love on me, super trouper, I have a dream...just to name a few....haha. They are my all time favorite band, I'm a superfan. I love to see you enjoying them 💚💜

I am a rock musician and i dig this song....tell no one.
I greŵ up one listening to ABBA in Spanish.... they are amazing
I had an ABBA eight track in the seventies. Saludos desde Puerto Rico.
I love to see you enjoying them 💚💜
I don’t normally like this kind of music but this is THE Perfect Pop Song.
ABBA is successful, it has you smiling from ear to ear! Fun music!
The most popular dance song ever. No one sits out when this song comes on.
The line of the bass are superb !!!!!!!!
It makes you want to dance, at 17 I was out dancing.great time.
Guaranteed to get everybody bobbing or dancing when this comes on! A pure ABBA classic.
ABBA became Swedens largest industry, wealthier than their Kingdom. Australian fans made them go international on this song.
Donna Summers, Gloria Gaynor and K.C. and the Sunshine Band are some of the other big disco acts from the 70s and 80s.
It's never been used in commercials, it was on the radio ALL the time, and a lot of wedding receptions play this and EVERYONE gets on the dance floor and EVERY ONE knows the words! She is only DANCING she is not looking for sex guys, geez! LOL! 1976 "that is old" Well that hurt! My second child was born in 1976 and I was 29 years old! After THE BEATLES, ABBA is my second favorite group ever. You can't go wrong with ANY of their songs. The stage musical and movie "MAMA MIA" are both FANTASTIC ( I like the movie BETTER, though) and all the songs in both ARE ABBA songs. It's a FUN movie and you should check it out. A sequel was made called "MAMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN."
The definition of JOY!❤
They were influenced by traditional Swedish folk music & The Beatles. My first records I bought ....I love all of their music - too many to choose from but maybe Summer night City - Eagle - The king has lost his crown. 😊
Love you guys. Such positive energy. Love from the UK
There are a million songs from ABBA that are Great Feel Good 70's Songs, Check out - Does your Mother Know - Gimme Gimme Gimme - Take a Chance on me - SOS - Fernando - The Winner takes it all - Waterloo - Angel Eyes....etc.....
best pop band of all time
I love ABBA! Listen, I was born January 1970 and I am all about disco! ABBA is the shit and while I love all of their songs ‘take a chance on me’ is my favorite song that is such a badass song! Anyway, to anybody out there, who does not like ABBA, your soul is empty! I’m obsessed with disco. I’ve always been obsessed with disco. I grew up listening to it because my mother was a big time disco fan I mean big time!
