I have lost over 30 pounds in 6 months by changing my diet, intermittent fasting, adequate rest and exercise; all attributed to following the advice of Dr. Fung. I started with Dr. Fung’s advice and continued with Dr. Mindy Pelz to fast for my hormones. I am 47 years old and in peri-menopause. I have never felt more comfortable and healthier in my body in years until now. Thank you!

I'm 55 years old woman, my morning routine is as follow: No phone, no tv, no news, but apple cider in warm water plus coconut water. wash my face, brush my teeth and get on my knees to speak to the Lord Jesus who kept me during the night and who direct my days. I pray about 15 minutes on weekdays and I get ready for work. The fellowship with my God gives me joy and peace and crazy energy and I take at least 10k steps everyday. so simple. He teaches me to regulate my emotions since the world has gone crazy and to trust him in everything. I FOUND my peace and JOY. I lost extra weight about 6 years ago, and kept them off till today. Simple as that no complication.

I would love to have my last meal at 6pm but I’m a late night sleeper and staying up brings on the worst snacking habits in my life. So I have my last meal around 8/9 when I finish with family and prep food and house chores for next day. When my family goes to bed and it’s quiet I sit and have that last cup of tea and something comforting😂😂
Need to change this but not sure how. I am new to fasting and started last Sunday 8/9pm to 1/2pm. Rough start Monday was a fail broke fast at 12. Tuesday to Thursday perfect then Friday morning was washing grapes for little one fell in my mouth 😢 but nothing else till 3.30 as punishment except black coffee but still felt guilty in the night after reflection so I had a glass of JD and Diet Coke on ice (instead of tea) with 1/4 can of Pringles and fell asleep on the couch watching Dr Mindy. Today Saturday 12pm had two cinnamon rolls with coffee finishing this podcast and reading all your successful testimony and planning to start again tomorrow Sunday. Please I welcome any tips!!!

Hello mindy. I've lost 160, and gotten off all 5 medications I was taking. I'm on my first 2 week break from fasting hard for 20 months. I guess you could call this a bulk phase if I were a body builder. I've put about 12 pounds back on, and I feel great! Strong. I'm resistance training my arms with bands and Springs every day. Arms are growing back and toning real nice. Again, today it's like you knew I needed to hear all of this. You know, the thing about dealing with a Dr. In the office is you can not go back and hear that conversation again. With you, I can replay all your videos so that I can get that continued support that we need. Thank you. Your helping me to live long enough to know my Grandson. Not reading my Bible and spending time with my Abba in the morning before the kids wake up and immediately get into action - and I feel lost (and much more stressed!) for the rest of the day. So yeah, totally agree with that and the other points as well. Starting to apply these more as there are definitely cortisol and excess hormones stored from a previous life of constant stress, sleeplessness, bad diet that started in my childhood. But, I've come around, and so WILL YOU!!! Don't ever give up. Even if you don't loose weight right away, or not enough, or too slow. Do not ever quit this proper and mindful way of eating and living. And if you fall, stand up and make yet another step into the right direction. Caesar also began with learning how to walk and fall as a baby before conquering half the world. 😁🙌

I am 33 years old and have lost 6 pounds in my first 6 weeks of fasting 'Like A Girl.' I love it! I tell everyone about my new lifestyle! Hubby is super proud of my efforts and already notices a difference in my moods surrounding my menstrual cycle. Thank you for this helpful info regarding morning routines! Perfect timing as we homeschooling mamas are jumping into another school year and often new routines happening at home. I feel like the a key tool for me is eating carbs earlier in the day and shutting down my eating window earlier. Side note, my PCP loves your book, your mission and is helping guide me in getting my health back! I am borderline hypertension and overweight. Thank you, Dr Mindy! I feel like God answered my prayer when He dropped your book in my lap!

@@DrMindyPelzhelp! I lost my period two months ago (never have had that happen in my life before; was always super regular), and haven't gotten it back. 33 years old, no kids, but I started OMAD the week before I was supposed to get my period, and this was also before I found you on RUclips. What steps would you recommend I take to balance my hormones back out? Currently 160lbs, 5'7.

To be honest with you, I feel so fantastic and energetic since I have started my intermittent fasting of 22-24 hours . I was 88 kg 3 months ago and now I am 74kg🎉
My ideal weight according to BMI is 65 kg and that’s my aim now.
My cholesterol was high in the past and it come down from 6.8 to 5.4 🎉
My levothyroxine reduced from 125mcg to 75mcg now and still Dr. Saying that my thyroid is hyper active due to the wrong dose of levothyroxine. So, my thyroid check will be on October again and see am I need 75 mcg levothyroxine or less 🎉
May be when I arrive my actual weight of 65 kg, I may not need to take any levothyroxine!! 😅 who knows! 🤞
My brain is clear and I feel more happy mentally. My body becoming slim and my belly fat is reducing from 103cm to 93 cm now 🎉
I don’t feel any suffocating or bloated my stomach after my meals anymore!
I reduced a lots of carbohydrates in daily bases which feels amazing!
I always thought that I can’t live without carbohydrate like pasta . But
I have realised that carbohydrates and the sugar are our enemies.
I love zucchini which satisfies my hunger and spinach every day.
I give up daily coffee and Tea and
I feel so fantastic. I love boiled eggs which giving me so full and energetic.
    Overall, I feel fabulous 😅
    Thank you Dr. Mindy ❤

I started my intermittent fasting lifestyle on June 6,2024 at 223lbs.. and on the scale today August 30,2024 I am now 202lbs 🎉 this is by far the best decision I have ever made for myself! I find fasting very enjoyable now and recommend this to everyone to at least give it a try for yourself! It's a very healing process for the body, and that alone excites me!! 🙌🏼 And just some back story on me.. at my heaviest weight in 2017 I was 292lbs to today 202lbs so its been a long journey, but since starting to fast which was about close to 3 months ago, the weight has just fallen off fairly easy. 🔥 Love that i found this lady here and her channel because its helped me so much! Dr. Mindy, love "Fast Like a Girl," and all your careful, studied, and generously offered work. I've lost +/- 30 pounds for the LAST time following your advice. 3/10/2021 cleaned up my diet, totally organic. Next eased into 2 meals/day, then OMAD for about a year. Now OMAD 3-4/ week, but eat a super awesome salad mid day 2-3/week. I find I can do an 80/20% day, say a birthday celebration or such about once a month then back to regular routine next day. Just returned from hiking, yoga, swimming and meditation in Italy and Barcelona where I imbibed, ate pasta, gelato and even pastries. Bounced back into a healthy routine. Not going to miss out on local delicacies; however, I didn't go overboard, appreciated all, stayed active and didn't beat myself up. I feel great, looking my best (61). It's not only easy now, it's rote. I'm in this for life, and I can't thank you enough!

Hey☮️ .,,. Mindy suggests a strategy of 5 days/ week 17 hours fasting, 1 day/week no fasting, and 1 day/ week a 24 hour fast. Combine this with low carb, no sugar, healthy veggies and some protein. You can vary the hours of fasting for what you can actually manage. I’ve also found I lose more weight on a 4-1-2. I’ve always been really into health, eat strictly, exercise much cardio, and my weight has never gone over up aside from 2 pregnancies. A few months before I turned 51, I started gaining weight at the speed of light. I have a lot tools/tricks -none of them worked! I gained 125 lbs in less than a year. I used to be a health coach, I taught people how to lose weight, and even all my tricks and education did not even touch this weight. It’s shocking.

Love this, alot of this i've been doing while I tinker with the fasting/wellness/health lifestyle. My eating window is either 9:30-5:30 or 11-5 ish. My morning routine has been wake up, stretch, make black coffee while waking up kids getting them ready and out the door (I know all the research behind pushing coffee back, but it's my morning joy and jumpstart and I just can't seem to do it). Then the bus stop, which I thought I would hate but love for the morning light, and some times a quick walk with the dog, come back, check emails for any fires, then do my workout routine then get ready and dive into work truly. After a few hours I break my fast with an oat milk latte , muesli, and a sourdough english muffin with peanut butter. I used to try just fat and protein but then I craved my sweet and my carbs by afternoon. But I've found having it right away, heavy on the fat, the rest of the day i'm fine just having veggies and protein for lunch and dinner. Glad to hear that it isn't a terrible thing :)

I have a black coffee in the am before eating. one day a week I try to do a longer fast (usually 17 hours or a little more) and on Sundays I don't fast and pretty much eat what I want but stay "healthy ish" When I do have sugar on that day I use organic cane sugar or coconut sugar. I love to bake so I have yet been able to kick the habit of dessert once a week. I have a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar after every meal. I eat sauerkraut daily and a few times a week i have kefir. I use only cocount oil or avacado oil. I am trying to get into the habit of checking glucose ( this is new to me stil) I am finding that weight is coming off of those places where it has sat for years. I would love to lose 10 more pounds. :-) I am at about 9 lb loss in a 2 month time. I am no longer tired in the afternoon and I feel so much better. One step at a time. I would like to try some longer fasts in the near future especially now that flu season is coming.

I’m so glad you did this video! I’m 63 and ever since I started paying attention to my eating patterns, I noticed that I’m super hungry early in the day. Since I started my fasting journey with you a few months ago, I’ve been following my natural hunger patterns and I find that I almost always finish eating between 12:30 and 2, about a 5-6 hour eating window. I haven’t lost the 5 lbs I always want to lose, but my sugar cravings are much lower, I haven’t counted calories in months, I’m sleeping better, energy is good, and I love not having to deal with food decisions later in the day. Socially, I bend into a salad if I’m eating out later, but I rarely eat out. This is my circadian rhythm, right? Is there any downside to this? Much love and gratitude to you!!

After years...YEARS! of not being able to release any weight at all, and in act added an additional 20 or so I am now down 15lbs in 2 months. Wow! I honestly thought it was longer. It really is getting easier as I use the detox methods, listen to my body (she's pretty cool 😎), don't stress over any of it and find my OWN WAY through it. I ABSOLUTELY love and appreciate you and all the free resources. Using them ALL! ❤🎉❤

I’m in my first month with Fast Like A Girl, and already noticing changes. I love going to bed with an empty stomach now, because I sleep better and wake up feeling rested. It’s wild that such a simple change can produce these results.
Waiting to drink coffee has been very challenging for me. I do wake up and go out on my porch to see the sunrise, and I ground as well. I manage to wait about 15-20 min while I wake up on the porch, but then I chug the coffee. 🤪 Gonna keep trying walk it back later.

Awesome idea. Easier to delay coffee when retired or if you can have it at work. Finding a chore or a distraction first helps.
Early walking is terrific; cardio fat burning and sunlight simultaneously; 2 for one!❤😊

How about treating sunset as your sunrise and sunrise (or when you get off work) as your sunset? I love going for a walk between 5 and 7 pm, just before sunset. If I’m not going for a walk, I try to do a 20-40’ exercise dvd (Leslie Sansone “Walk away the pounds”) after dinner.
Thanks for all you do in the healthcare profession. Best wishes on your personal health journey!

How to kick off your cortisol
    1) Be easy in the morning (meditate and listen to music) 2) Delay coffee until at least 1 hour. Take tea instead 3) Go for a walk 4) Take carbs early in a.m.

I love reading all the positive comments! I have just started to follow a 15 hour intermittent fasting schedule this week while reading the Menopause Reset book. Once I've completed the reading I will take on a more robust fasting schedule. I'm so excited and hopeful to get results - belly fat loss, aches and pains gone, better functioning thyriod and even hormone levels.
I LOVE my coffee, but what I started doing a while ago is having warm water with a pinch of salt and splash of lemon juice before I allow myself any caffeine in the morning. Thoughts on the lemon water?

I started adding the juice of half a lemon to my elixir of cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, and ginger. Water is my base. I was diagnosed with CKD: Chronic Kidney Disease, stage 2.
After I started this elixir, I had my kidneys checked and my doctor was shocked that she could find no evidence of CKD. Yesterday, my tests are still showing no sign of CKD. The lemon has a lot of benefits and for me it detoxed my kidneys.
Pray that Dr. Mindy will comment on this for you. 😇🙏

I just started really listening to your channel and I really love the fact that you are talking about women and menopause and weight loss. I am a 54-year-old woman who has secondary multiple sclerosis, and I use a wheelchair all the time. I am the demographic you just described of waking up, grabbing a cup of coffee and getting on my phone. However, it’s not necessarily a negative thing for me and I find it energizing and a positive thing I’m not looking at it from a Work perspective. Anyway, I have lost 5 pounds over the last month and a half doing a keto-ish low carb diet. I exercise in the mornings For about 20 minutes 3 to 4 times a week. Thanks to you I started varying my intermittent fasting I do two days a week that are for 24 hours and then one weekend day of no fasting and the other days vary between 16 and 18 hours sometimes less it just depends. so thanks for all this info. It might take me longer to lose the weight because of having to use a wheelchair all the time but I am committed.

Love this channel! I’ve lost 30lbs and struggling to lose the last 20. It would really be helpful if you could display a list on screen of the 5 things you just mentioned. Putting lists of “actions” or suggestions of things to do is so helpful so we can write them down without having to go back thru the video. I know you sometimes do this and it is so appreciated ❤

Just started my 30 days 3 days ago. I didn't do the 2 week prep, as I am never good at starting slow on stuff. Full speed, from the get-go, is how I roll. 16/8 is what I'm doing so far....I'm doing it!! The first day, it took 3 hours to get from 0845 to 0900 before I could eat! 😁
I am 53. No menstrual cycle...been on Merena for 8 years. Hoping to lose more weight. down about 25. around 50 to go to my goal! I've been in a stall on weight loss for a few weeks. So ready to get past this stall, and lose more, and feel better, sleep better, and get rid of inflammation.
    🙂

I feel the same way. My work schedule is not uniform. I’m often starting work at 3 am or finishing late in the evening. I don’t have the luxury of waking up, sitting around waiting for the sun to come up or meditating. I can’t walk two hours after waking. I have followed the 28-day schedule for three months and I’ve lost almost no weight, and much of it is belly fat. I’ve had non-scale victories, so I plan to continue, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like weight loss is possible.
