Hi Damien ,Brook @Family on our Merry Fisher I have fitted a remote control to the anchor relay very simple to do and cheap to buy,it allows more freedom to move around the whole boat and also we use it on the beach to park the boat in deeper water or after a walk bring the boat back in hopefully this comment helps 😊
Another great video Damien and Brooke. Good to include the drone footage. Very well edited. One thing you could have included is the prep on the bow. As you know there is a securing pin on the bow roller. You should remove. Plus the securing/safety rope too on the chain of course. It is usual to remove both of these before you make your final approach to the anchorage. If weather permits it also helps to slightly lower the anchor so that is starting to clear the roller. You probably do all of this anyway but it would be helpful to first time boaters. Really envy you your weather and all those lovely sheltered anchorages. Looking forward to your next video. I have watched you video of the wrecks a couple of times. Amazing clear water you lucky people!
Good points John. We were kind of rushing because the drone was up and I was trying to drive and control the drone. But yeah they are all really good points. Especially getting the anchor free of the bow sprite. It has been crazy hot over here, too uncomfortable for sleeping onboard. More videos to come soon.
@@TheRudder Thanks Damien. “crazy hot” you lucky people. Still very cold, very wet and very windy here in the UK. Roll on some springtime weather ( but it won’t be crazy hot!)
As new Merry Fisher 895 (second hand) owners, we are loving your videos very much, thank you! :) Watched many of your videos today, and in one you showed your master/stateroom ceiling hatch with the fly screen panel that you have fitted. Can you please advise where you got this? Also the carpet. And where you got the cockpit fly screen panels made too please! Thank you! Pam
Hi Pamela, the fly screens in the ceiling hatch were there when we got the boat, as was the carpet. I believe the carpet is a factory install. The cockpit screens were made by a canvas guy here on the Gold Coast Hook, Line and Trimming. Find out more with this video - ruclips.net/video/-XdCfGdvAFs/видео.html I hope that helps.
I see many videos in which people operate their anchor winches with bare feet. Obviously they have never seen a winch fail, the chain come off the gypsy or a skipper go astern too hard.
Love this boat, wish we could find one in United States! This boat checks all the boxes for us!
Good luck on your search. Never did work out why they called it a Merry Fisher here and a NC there??

Good idea. Our controller has been a bit temperamental lately so maybe an upgraded is required. thanks
