Hi, what type of bow roller is that? Do you know the exact make or spec?
I love the house you passed on the canal.. reminds me of the house from the movie Amityville Horror, except a much more fancy pants version 😅 I have a Highfield CL340 with a GT console.. I love it. We cruise around just my daughter and myself on the lakes in NZ. I see you have a permatrim fitted to the Yamaha 25HP, i have the same model outboard and am thinking of doing the same to increase performance. Lovely video, by the way. Happy New Year.. have fun.😊 Warren & Shelby.
Thanks so much for the comment. Happy Highfielding!!
Love your videos! We were looking at the NC 895 and the 27 ft Ranger Tug. We chose a loaded NC 895 for a number reasons. The big things were the twin 250s, auto zipwakes, and the generator. Gets very hot in South Carolina. Please keep the videos coming. Probably will need to ask y’all a few questions from time to time.
Thanks David!! I hope you let the dealer know that our videos might have helped your decision!! Haha no worries, shoot me a message anytime. You can use the comment on the website www.therudder.com.au/
Thanks, but it seems like you forgot the 2nd cabin? Any changes there?
Thanks for the amazing review, have you ever compared the GPS/distance accuracy to an Apple Ultra 2?
Thanks for the comment. Sorry no, don't have any Apple gear. By the number of swimmers, runners, triathletes and marine enthusiast who use garmin I would think the accuracy is fine.
can a jet boat be docked on this on a mooring or does it have to be tied to another dock that doesn't move?
Hi Marty, fairly sure they could do a design for jet boats. They can accommodate nearly every of type of boat. The FAB dock needs to be tethered to something, pontoon, mooring bouy or jetty. Give them a call.
That chick is only 5 ft tall and talking like them areas are spacious for everybody. Im 6ft 6. That bed is NOT going to be long enuff.
The advantage of the FAB dock is what? No bio foiling on your boat? What about all the bio foiling on the FAB dock? What about duck/geese/cormorant foiling on the dock when the boat is out?
Hi, the main advantage is no annual application of antifoul in your boat. Not only a cost saving every year, but improved performance and no environmental runoff. There is no antifoul on the FAB Dock. Things do grow on it but it doesn't matter. When it is time to sell you can power wash everything off. Not sure about the 🕊️ 🦆 🪿 but they will shit on the boat whether it is antifouled or not!!
what was the best fuel efficient speed?
I would say around 23 to 25kn
Engines off.
@@AshleyJOsborne 😂 takes a long time to get anywhere!!
@@TheRudder great looking boat. Hoping to get one. What sort of money ie wet berthing or mooring slipping antifouling maintenance a year for a boat this size?
@@AshleyJOsborne this should answer your questions ruclips.net/video/PdGNdJZ7G40/видео.html
Hasnt it changed over the years
Our fav place and only an hour for us from Bribie Island, depending on the tide 🥰
We are upgrading as the one we bought was not quite the right size for the MF 895. Prefer Fabdock over Seapen as Seapen doesn't fully empty and the rope is very harsh. Also 240V power and seawater is not a good mix. A bunch of marina have banned Seapen due to stray current. You will still need to seal (with epoxy or other) the hull. Gelcoat needs that protection. It is a once only coat and can be smooth and white. Don't know hullmax, sorry.
hi love the idea of you tender rack 😊 may I ask the length of your tender please , and from where can I purchase them. thank you
Our tender is 2.9m. The rack was built by Stainless Fabrication on the Gold Coast. Hope that helps
hello sir am interested in purchasing the Turstme Kicker , my raft is 25kgs and two adults around 150kgs . do you think speed 3 will be okay ? and is it 360 degrees?
Hi, I don't sell the Thrustme Kicker. I would search in your location. Yes it swivels 360 degrees to provide reverse.
Excellent review, many thanks!
Thanks for the comment.
Hey guys. Great to see you having fun on your new Highfield. We added a Garmin screen to our RIB so have speed and more importantly depth data. Great when you are going into a shallow anchorage in the big boat as one of you can get in the tender and check the depth ahead of the larger boat. Have fun and good boating. Might see you at Bums Bay around Christmas. Regards Clare and John (and our two dogs) on oki doki.
Hi John, What a good idea!!! I really want to put a garmin on our highfield. Maybe Santa!!??? Definately want to get out over Christmas, see you around.
Big design mistake to remove the elevated aluminum region at the sofa in the stern. The identity of Highfield is removed. This design looks like the cheap RIB versions. Looks 10 years old now.
@highfieldboats
Good day from America really enjoy your videos. I am very interested in Mary Fisher 795 or 895 boat although over here they are NC 795 and 895. I know from some of your videos they’re quite handy doing some upgrades on your boat. How have you found the quality of the boats to be? Have you had any significant issues or have you heard of any kind of consistent issues that that boat owners have with these products. From what I can tell, it seems like Jeanneau build a fairly quality product, especially for the price point. We’re looking at would love to hear your opinion. Again thanks for all the great videos.
Each to their own, but you have a VERY narrow perspective which is only relevant to your own particular circumstances. Good anti-fouling is rather costly but in most cases it lasts for several years, especially if you give your hull a bit of a scrub every few months. I'm not sure pushing the environmental angle is relevant on any ICE powered boat. I think the manufacture and use of your engine has far more impact on the environment than does anti-fouling. Nonetheless, if your system suits your needs and works for you, that's great. However I think you might find not everybody will agree with your views about anti-fouling one's boat.
Well yes this is my perspective and opinion but there are areas, particularly in the US that are looking at banning antifoul on recreational vessels.
@@TheRudder You are on the Gold Coast so tell me how many power boats wet-docked at the numerous marinas are NOT anti-fouled? I'd guess less than 1% do not have anti-fouling on them. Same in Sydney & Pittwater. Some bathroom sealers are banned in California yet not in any other State. Let me know when antifoul is banned all over the USofA. I won't be holding my breath. Cheers!
What are you guys doing against slaps on the hull produced by even little waves when at anchor?
Not a lot to do, find an anchorage out of the wind and picking calmer nights to go out. I wish there was some solution.
Hi. Thanks for your channel, I just found it and am also on the Gold Coast. Can I ask, would you take your Merry Fisher to the Whitsundays?
We wouldnt drive it from here but we have thought about getting it shipped up for a season.
Love this boat, wish we could find one in United States! This boat checks all the boxes for us!
Good luck on your search. Never did work out why they called it a Merry Fisher here and a NC there??
@ Yeah, not sure either. I have a question for you. Do you have any idea what would make the 695 so much lighter than the Cutwater 24 coupe? That was the boat I was considering but it’s a bit too heavy for our 4Runner to pull. They are almost identical boats, however I do like the 695 better. I know the C-Dory boat is made with a composite which makes it lighter, but have not been able to find any specs on 695.
Nice work. Bit out of our price range atm . On the to do list .
Ours is for sale!
@ we’re 31 ft might be too small
So close! But not a fit
Have truly enjoyed you both thankyou! Wish you both all the best you have opened up your lives to us. So wonderful to see your humour and light hearted approach.
Thanks Andy. Let us know if you have any video ideas you'd like us to talk about.
looks like piss water! ill just stick with instant

One of these days you have to do the Great Loop!
For sure!! Just gotta get the right weather
Hardly a roll up or portable.
I know some boats that roll them up and store underneath. They inflate and deflate each trip.
This seems great. First do they ship to the US? And I think I saw a Kicker demo at a ICAST show that showed a connector for an external nonproprietary battery, is that possible.
I'm not really sure about where they distribute, but they are a European product so if they are over in Australia you'd think that they would be in the US. I'd be a little worried about no proprietary batteries. The voltage control on these units is very sensitive. Sorry not much help!
Let me make this shorter for you if you don't have time.... Attach rope (both ends, tow boat and tender.. IMPORTANT!), mash throttle 60knots.... congrats... you are towing. Store kids in Tender.
I look forward to the video on @thequalifiedcaptain😂
Brilliant product; we used it for 16 seasons on our previous boat (Hanse 430) & observers really thought it was a new deck😊
Wow that speaks for itself!! Cheers
Hey there did you consider any alternatives like the airdock or the seapen ?
We did, I see quite a few broken airdocks around, and seapens are a close competitor,.they are a few differences - course rope, location of pumps in seapens actually leaves water in the pen when "empty," 240V power near sea water.
We will have more Fabdock videos in the next few weeks!
カメラマン下手やな…
Thanks for it. Soon I may have the same problem. Now I can solve it by myself. Appriciated.
I hope.that is the issue. Easy fix
Thank you
Great video.
Thanks heaps
How many watts is that bow thruster
Unfortunately I have no idea. It is the factory setup. I have looked through several brochures and can't find it.
Thanks guys
This looks like a new and improved Beneteau Antares 10.8. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find either in North America.
Layout is a bit different to the Beneteau 11, one more cabin but they both have advantages.
No way trailerable for you. But in the US a permit isnt difficult to get and a Ford F-350 diesel can pull 30,000 lbs or 15 tons.
I would not like to do that pull-out!!!
I think the fitting you use to have with the little tap on, are called Johnson Bulkhead fittings , i can send you a picture and i think a part number from eBay in the uk, i think they are made in Germany
That would be great, thanks. When I showed stores here no one had ever seen them before.
Brooke you have got a gorgeous little body tight AF. Respect!
Great video, need to check Au from my bucket list soon :)
Thanks where are you from?
@@TheRudder Other side of the planet, sweden
Hello, I also have a Merry Fisher 895 Offshore. It's really a beautiful boat. However, what particularly bothers my wife and me are the 'splashes' or water noises that occur at the bow of the boat. Even with little wind, small waves hit the bow of the boat and cause noises that hardly let you sleep. How do you deal with this? Can anything be done about it?" Would you like me to elaborate on any part of the translation or provide any additional information about the topic?
Yes it is a problem. Brooke calls it tippy-tap. We don't have a solution apart from retreat to the mid cab or sleep up top. Not ideal. We just try and pick our days and our anchorages and try and avoid the wind. Otherwise good ear plugs. Sorry I don't have good solution.
Perfect boat but with generator
You can get factory genset.
Was great to meet you the other weekend. Informative video, seen some scary moments with anchoring. Also worth mentioning the anchor pro app has helped us no end.
Anchoring seems so simple, until it isn't!!
Where's the Highfield?
We use the Highfield as a larger tender and also just to use around the canals. Much easier to put the little on on the rack if we are going away for a night or two.
Great video. Have you ever thought about using and anchor ring ( a sliding weight that you can fit round the anchor chain)? This way you can reduce the anchor circle significantly and anchor safely in tighter spaces. I think there is a Kiwi product called an anchor buddy that does the same sort of job. Just a thought. Great that you have two starter batteries. Sensible if you are a long time away from shore power. Especially when the sun isn’t shining to top up with solar! It of course it is always sunny in Queensland!
Haven't heard of that, will check it out. There are some places now that are very crowded along the coast. Thanks for still watching even though you've moved on from the MF.
Helpful and clear as always. Love your videos.
Thanks so much for the comment!
After owning the 1095 2023 for now for 16 month, I have realized how cheaply made these boats are. The only things I like and trust are the Garmin electronics and the Mercury systems. It is a shame because I had enjoyed a Swift Trawler 34 for 9 years before the Jeanneau. This Jeanneau really fooled me. I will definitely be looking for a replacement in our next boat show.
Sorry to hear that.
Fabulous result and great advice. Your teak looks really good.
Brooke will appreciate the teak comment. We were actually thinking about doing a video six months after doing the job.
