I appreciate this video. A lot of people seem to be playing it, but something about the way it's laid out creates too much visual clutter for my brain.
The Bazaar is such an addicting game. Glad to see you playing it. Will greatly welcome your input and thoughts on the game. I'll probably learn some methodology, I wouldn't have considered otherwise.

I think I'll finally try it too. Kripparrian has been doing Hearthstone BG games for a billion years and now he has been streaming The Bazaar every say for 12-16 hours and causing untold havoc and Kripp is such a cool dude so with you both trying it I might as well. Hearthstone BG's sucks now anyway with the tokens and Mechabellum is fantastic but it lacks character honestly.
This has very similar feeling to hs bg. I would say though that comparing the first times I played hs bg and now bazaar both are amazing but I think HS bg is a better game. I have played it way too much though in the past so don't have the same spark for it anymore

Well it's always nice to be early so you can learn with the others. That said there's a lot of disconnecting issues etc. and it's quite expensive for a ~one month beta

But in the past I have greatly enjoyed Artifact, Hearthstone battlegrounds, XCOM, MTG, Civ5, Humankind, Slay the spire. I forget what games there are. I also like city building games and some colony simulators like prison architect
Have you played Backpack Battles? The Bazaar is basically Backpack Battles + Slay the Spire and I'm not sure if I like The Bazaar more; the PvE stuff is neat, but the PvP feels a lot less interesting and more high/low-roll prone, as the small inventory gives less room for teching. Also, I'm sure if the PvE enemies continue to have consistent loadouts, people will make apps to effectively know if you will win or lose against them with your current build, which cuts out of a lot of decision-making/risk-taking.
The inventroy is big enough to change stuff according to the opponent. But cannot keep like 2 different builds in in, it wouldn't be economically viable if it were the case. I have played backpack battles, I hated it because it took forever to move stuff around the inventory but I liked the mechanics and understand why people like it so much. High rolling is how every one of these games work, you build a setup that allows you to take calculated risks and when you hit you are invincible. The skill comes how to set it up so you maximize your odds and take risks in the right places. Yeah good point on the apps, they should add some random elements to the monsters
Without something new mechabellum gets stale pretty quickly, the funny thing is that unit drops were meant to fix that but only exacerbate the problem, until new unit comes its just the same 4 builds that will get you anywhere in the ladder, boring as shiet.
Yea currently the game needs to be played in a way that I don't enjoy much. Too little creativity. And huge imbalance on starting specialists & unit drops plus some items like nano repair kit. Or any kind of unit drop + item combination is usually like 50% better for the other player
@@SurreyEZ Glad somebody else feels this way. I went from playing every day to not really enjoying it at all. Was hoping a new unit drop might fix it but I'm just not enjoying it now.
At ~1500mmr things still seem pretty varied, people's individual lack of creativity aside. Is it really that bad at the top? If only a few comps are viable, couldn't this be addressed by re balancing some of the existing units? Lack of variety just means some stuff is overtuned, right?
I tried the game and was extremely disappointed to see that there was already people cheating in the bazar and balance that is laughable, ofc he shows the most broken hero. What are the cheats? I fought multiple peopel that in the first 1-2 days they had 999 gold and builds you would expect on later days. Really turned me off from a game I wanted to like.
999 gold I have seen loads, seems like obvious cheating. As for the other there is a bug where the "ghost" of the player is saved with post match buffs after it's already ramped, they need to fix that asap

I don't think it will be on steam, they have their own stuff. There's a mobile version release happening also in distant future

It's just bugs on what player boards the game is showing against you. Sometimes the boards are prescaled, sometimes a day behind etc.
