I think GRRM is very well-aware that Daenerys is on a highway towards becoming extremely overpowered very soon. Having three dragons, a hundred thousand Dothraki, ten thousand Unsullied, plus thousands of Ironborn and mercenaries, plus the best naval commander, the best land commander, the best Hand and advisor, etc.. I think all this power is supposed to come in handy against the Others.
@@thoughtsuponatime847 What do you mean by this? That because Drogon is this only one she rides, Viserion and Rhaegal aren't really bonded to her, so aren't actually "her's"?
I think G.R.R.M may have written himself into a corner, and my hope is that once he gets through it, and finishes Winds Of Winter, A Dream Of Spring will be finished a lot faster since the endgame will now be clear.
The end game has been clear for years according to him. The problem he’s having is the time gaps that are in both the last 2 books and also he tells the story through certain character perspective’s. As they die, he runs out of them making it harder to write and tie everything together. So he has in a sense written himself into a corner
@@michaelgarcia6520 I always wished that he just stuck with the original time jump planned for between books 3 and 4. Once he decided against it, things were just never the same and it seems like he's struggled ever since.
The first rule of writing anything, but especially for fantasy; do not make a mess that is too big for you to clean up. Mereen is a fucking landfill in this regard and I think the series is doomed because of it. I honestly think the introduction of Euron is in this same vein as well, even if he is a beloved villain by the fans. What in the world is this Lovecraftian cultist doing in GoT? And why is he showing up so late? And on that note, Aegon is ALSO another case of this. GRRM is a gardener when it comes to his writing but the man was mistaking weeds for flowers it seems. He didn't pluck them often enough(and in some cases is planting them himself) and instead he let them take over his garden and now we're in a giant inescapable mess, the man is getting old and he has already seen what happens if the story isn't ended properly thanks to the show. I think his obvious preferred interest in other projects/world building instead of what is supposed to be his magnus opus says it all. The guy isn't oblivious to his mortality, its a big theme in his writing. He KNOWS the clock is ticking. Yet seems like nothing is moving and he is taking every step he can to further himself from completing it. Its sad to watch, especially since for as rich and interesting as his world his, his actual legacy will be "never finishing the series" if he doesn't write these last books. I'm not really going to look back super fondly on fire and blood and other novelty world building pieces if the world they are building is ultimately never completed. It was just hubris and lack of discipline in containing things to the story he wanted to tell and its very unfortunate. Did we really need Aegon, Euron and a giant extended Mereen conflict all happening at the end of the middle act of the series, leading into the final act which has been built up for 5 books(white walkers and Dany arriving in Westeros)? It seems like all the pieces were in place and maybe Mereen could have still happened and been wrapped up by the end of Dance if we didn't waste all this time on Euron/Aegon becoming two entirely new threats to Westeros. These characters are just antagonists you would introduce if your story is a never ending villain of the arc drama that you plan to have go on forever. I want to cut him some slack because I know myself writing is a huge undertaking and very easy to procrastinate on(I do this all the time with my own writing) but every year that passes I am growing less empathetic. He unfortunately does have a bit of an obligation to his fans to finish his work since we gave so much back to him for it, and it doesn't seem like he is taking it very seriously. The cynic in me tells me he is old, tired, has no idea how many more books are actually needed to finish and has come into unimaginable wealth late in life and just wants to enjoy it. Which I mean, fair enough man. But at least be honest and stop telling us there is an intent to finish the work, when all your actions point to there not being one at all.
@@DeynaAndSilaqui Such a good point about not looking back fondly on his novellas and Fire and Blood, if the main series is never finished. It does seem like he's doing everything except writing Winds of Winter.
@@DeynaAndSilaqui You're exactly correct. He was expanding the story in Feast exactly when He should have been narrowing it. I don't buy his "5 year gap wouldn't work" line either. He could've filled in as needed and left certain things ambiguous if he wanted to.
I think something really interesting to counteract Daenerys and her forces would be the lack of food. The Dothraki, unsullied, second sons need to eat but winter is coming and the dragons will be eating the little livestock dragonstone does hold. The Dothraki will have to eat there own horses and cannibalism could take place. Or she tries to get Faegon to prove himself as a real Targaryen by claiming a dragon. He ends up taming viserion which back fires as when Daenerys tries to call viserion back but he snaps at her. Riding on a dragon and burning an army is one thing, actually fighting another dragon (who you saw as your own child) is another. Viserion is the gold dragon and Griff took the golden company. Viserion was also the only dragon that opposed Daenerys in the show. Then rhaegal will probably be claimed by Jon (Rhaegars only real son) during the long night or just before.
@@hugoferreira7992 Think he’s described as cream with golden. But yes, some do describe him as the “white dragon” as he’s so pale. But the horns, claws and secondary scales are golden :)
I belive we must consider that in the book Dany's army will not self-multiply, she will have loses so eventually less and less people to feed. Also at least Drogon had a feast with those Lannister soldiers, I mean they are at war so if we don't count the time when they are in Winterfell (in the series it seemed not very long, how much it was in real time? It couldn't be that long because when Jaime left Cersei she told him she was pregnant, she miscarried off screen according to Lena, but when he came back she used her non existant baby to manipulate him till the very end as if he could do something by that point him to safe her, she had a flat belly but she reminded him about her pregnancy anyway therfore trusting it won't look suspicious so maybe 1-2 month max?). Anyway I just assume that they fed the dead enemies to the dragons given that Dany has a huge army that must be well nutrished to fight and them actually still wanting to fight for her. About the dragons when there are no enemies to feed on and no livestock who will be the smart one to try to stop them from eating civillians.
I like that idea. Aegon claims visecerion, as Viserion is named after Viserys, her abusive brother, and aegon (possibly) being a close relative who is against her fits. Viserion later will be claimed by the Others. As for Rhaegal I think he will first be bound to the Ironborn by the horn, but after the ironborns defeat, he will be claimed by Jon ostensibly but this may require the help of bran- he is the Green dragon .
Honestly, and I’m NOT kidding. What is holding him back is the fact that the story ended on TV. For real. Imagine if you were writing a story, and someone else finished for you. And now everyone wanted your ending. You lose motivation, especially when 20 million ppl already got their ending, as bad as it was. For me, cannon ended in the show when she set sail for Westeros. It’s sad because we waited for so long for her to come back, and D&D destroyed it. I will bet anything he’d already be done with it if they had taken their time and gave us 10 seasons like HBO gave them.
But that is an issue. Where we are in the books, he will need 3k pages to get her to Westeros and that’s too much for one book But what a travesty if we never get an ending. A real ending. As I said, the story ends for me when she sets sail for Westeros.
very well said everyone thinks he will finish HBO have a clause with him not too publish the Winds we dont know really only guess I really do not think he will finish it but when or if winds finishes it will be really problem is he would eventually be back too square 1 with dream of spring
He will finish Winds of Winter at the very least. Dream will likely be a much simpler book, because so many players will be wiped off the board after the complete chaos of Winds. I expect that Dream will be straightforward kinda like A Game of Thrones was, with just the main, streamlined characters driving the main plot and the supporting players feeding into that.
@@petertromp8786 I don't get this take at all. The end will be the hardest for George. It will not be simpler. It will be harder to do a good ending, than just move the already meandering characters around the map. Dream will be harder than Winds for sure.
*It's obvious to me that GRRM's books have become bigger than he could have imagined. There are so many stories, prophecies, characters and mysteries that I don't think even he knows how the saga will end. That's the problem with starting a story without knowing where it's going.*
I expect winds to be split in two for publishing, the first part being winds and the second part being A Time For Wolves, the original name for the 7th book.
@@rampantrambling idk, I personally like splitting mostly based on Geographic location to focus on certain groups of characters, makes a more complete feeling book rather than one that's been split in half, it only worked for AGoT and ACoK because they have very well defined climaxes that they end on making them feel complete. Either way I suppose it's all personal preference.
As big of a difference in talent as writers that GRRM and D&D are from each other they may have made the same mistake in the end. If George wouldn't have capped himself to 7 books we could have had book 6 by now. If ASOIAF was 10-12 books we could potentially be on book 7 or 8(maybe more) and Mr. Martin would have had the time to develop everything as quickly or slowly as the story progessed. As far as Dany holding everything up. I think this assumes her path is something traditional for a main protagonist. As we know with GRRM writing that isn't always the case.
What are you talking about? When did George cap himself at 7 books? Why do people just make things up? The amount of books for this series has ALWAYS been uncertain. This was originally supposed to be a 3 book series. 7 books is just what George said, he has no idea how Lon it will actually take.
What if Tyrion convinces everyone in mareen to go to support aegon just to get back at cercei. He could just tell barriston, greyworm, and Victorian to take their forces to Westeros Danaerys is gone, the dragons are gone, the people done want us here…
I could see this working for Barristen because Aegon would be the true heir, but Greyworm is loyal to her and also, victarion not only wants Dany's armies but also her
@@TheGreaseGoblins Yeah love that. Makes sense, Tyrion has met Aegon already. Come to think of it, Tyrion was going to Daenerys, and met Aegon, so why wasn’t Aegon going to Dany too? From his perspective, they could unite, and he could possess dragons that way. Why did Aegon not bother finding Dany and instead start conquering Westeros whiteout dragons.
@@made-line7627 Right, but then why did Tyrion himself continue on to Dany when he himself is a beggar with nothing to offer? Was it his intention to join Aegon, but he was captured as a slave instead?
@@umwha Great point, and I honestly can't recall. You'd think he'd want to go back with him to Westeros, but maybe he doesn't want to go back until he has something like dragon power to go back with haha
Maybe he should have thought about it before making so many secondary absolutly unnesary personages. If he wants to fit all the stories of everyone he may split one book in four, for example, and publish the material he by now has also it's an essier way to end some secondary plotlines therfore being more focused with the principal ones. I don't think that people will complain for having a 1/4 of his usual book to read and finally it will stop people keep on bothering him.
I feel Daenrys's story is building up towards wanting the throne for tradition and personal aggrandisement or wanting to have the throne to do good. I think she will face a choice like Stan is did, to fight for the good of the realm or to fight for the throne. I'd be satisfied with her giving up the fight for the throne to give everything in the fight against the walkers. Provided it's done well, which George can do I think he's rewriting his planned ending and the story keeps growing bigger.
One difference is that the dragons in the show cost millions where as writing them is free. I don’t completely disagree with your opinion because it is a problem. Great video
I think you are somewhat correct. There is a moving parts issue because GRRM decided Winds would be the point the show deals with in the final 3 seasons. And we see how yaddi-yadda'ing through that massive plot/story affects people. Now, as for the people who say he's written himself into a corner, I think this is one of these superficial Internet comments people engage in when they have nothing of substance to say. Like, "How about that weather?" That's ASOIAF's "George has written himself into a corner." It means nothing, though it gets lots of upvotes. There is no way George has written himself into a corner. That's ridiculous. He CARES ABOUT IT MAKING SENSE so he's taking all the time he thinks he needs while also being busier than ever with other projects. It's no more complicated than that.
He has also stated several times that he's stuck and he keeps rewriting sections of the book. Its like you don't know the most basic things before just posting random nonsense. It has literally been more than a decade since the last book. George is a professional writer with a contract for a completed series. Of course he is stuck.
True, people need to remember how truly brilliant a writer George is, just because he's taking a long time doesn't mean he's somehow lost in his story, he's always been a slow writer and there are many factors at play.
@@darksaint0124 stuck doesn't mean in a corner, there is a way out of being stuck a corner implies there not being a way out, he's rewriting sections yes but we don't know any specifics and there's a whole lot more to it than people like to admit.
@@demon_hawkeye5269 not really. A corner, in the context of writing, just means the writer feels like they no longer can go in the direction they intended.
I love your page, sir, it’s really nice to see Groups and people still discussing these books because these are my favorite series of all time even though season eight was crap. I still adore the series in the world and it’s nice that other people enjoy it as much as me.
Ha ha ha ha...how quickly we forget. Book One: Ned Stark HAS to set things right in King's Landing (oops). Book Two: Stannis or Renley HAS to take the throne in King's Landing (oops). Book Three: Robb Stark HAS to avenge Ned's death and achieve victory for the North (oops). Book 4: Cersei HAS to keep control of King's Landing out of the Faithful Militants hands (oops). Book 5: Jon Snow HAS to lead the Night's Watch in their battle against the Others, but only after he marches on Ramsay and rescues Winterfell (oops). Hearing what Daenerys HAS to do just makes me laugh - because George beautifully and famously never delivers what HAS to happen. Dany very well might never make it out of Essos, and with the show ending the way it did, I could see George scrapping the whole thing for an entirely different result (and I bet it'll be brilliant). And even if he doesn't, he's already said Winds will be the biggest of all the books, so George can get them there in one book if he "has to" or he may have Dany show up after the Westeros battle with the Others, and it's Dragons (with a few Westeros survivors) vs Others to end the series. George has said a LOT of people have to die and the ending is going to be bitter sweet - there's no promise Dany ever makes Westeros at all.
I think she makes it to Westeros and becomes involved with the fight against the Others (the foreshadowing and symbolism that she will is just too strong, and George will have f**ked himself if she doesn't), though you raised really great points, particularly about the character's intent and the actual outcome.
@@made-line7627 that's also true, that dream she had where she's flying her dragon and melting people in ice armour is something I've always interpreted as foreshadowing for an eventual dragon vs whitewalker confrontation.
What if Rhaegal and Viserion never escape the Great Pyramid of Meereen? What if the Sons of the Harpy storm the Pyramid in Daenerys' absences and kill them in a scenario harkening back to the Storming of the Dragonpit?
Is this really a serious statement? They are not in the pyramid anymore dude. Why does it seem like so many book readers in this comment section have no clue what is going on in the story.
There are only two people who can possibly be the third head of the dragon, taking for granted that Daenerys and Jon are two of the three. Either Aegon or Tyrion must be the third. If Tyrion is, maybe he must also be revealed as a Targaryen bastard. If Aegon is, he must he allied with Daenerys at some point.
It definitely tyrion, Tyrion has the most chapters of any pov making him the main character. I think Dany will marry both Jon and Tyrion , like how Aegon the conqueror had two wives. There will be a love triangle.
I think she is going to attempt to take the throne, and maybe causes a tragic accident. She will abandon her quest for the the throne and somehow learn of the white walkers and be the key to defeating the then. I think her fire and blood will be the price that must be paid to save Westeros. But I don’t think it will be Jon that kills her so unceremoniously. She will go out in a blaze of glory. Oooooorrr she is successful in taking the throne, but the people reject her and then she tragically realizes that the home she always longed for never existed and will never exist, and after losing so much in that conquest, will sacrifice herself to stop the walkers. After all she was kind of the start to fire magic returning to the world.
I think the fate of the dragons will be something like this Drogon stays with dany Viserion is taken by Euron but can't be tamed, there is this theory that dragon binder is actually a slave binding horn think of how the iron born supported Euron after it was blown and how the damphair started plotting after he supported Euron, maybe dragon binder can tame people and aggressive dragons for a short time but without valyrien blood a dragon can't be tamed. I think Viserion will die or be tamed by FAegon(a black dragon is still a dragon). Rheagel will somehow bond with Jon Snow. Maybe varys, Triyon and little finger figure out who he is after he has Rheagel maybe dany makes him swear never to try claiming the throne if he wants her help the same way she asked him to bend the knee in the show. About evening the odds just introduce ice dragons.
Imo the big issue was taking her away from the city.. She has to do SO DAMN MUCH now! And one book isnt enough time for her to meet and interact with certain characters.. Feels to me like the books may have to rush just like the show.. But my guess is that we won't get chapters of her leaving on her boats/the journey, but we'll get another PoV of when she lands from someone else. Or that the city will be tied up when she's away.. So she gets back and her bags are basically packed for her.. Otherwise she would need an entire book.. Like if she arrives at book 7, what's left for her to do? lol
@@serdavezilla6494 I'm not hating on him eighter but there is a point yeh have enough is enough never going too finish simple as I just dont believe he will ever finish it especially with all the projects lined we have listened too him for way too long too know that WOW isnt coming
I really hope George is already training Brandon Sanderson in his writting style, so Sanderson can finish the damn books once Georgie kick the bucket....unless Georgie had finished the books way time ago and he's just waiting the right time ($$$) to release them...
If GRRM goes Mad Queen in the books with Daenerys it would defeat the entire purpose of what has been established with the character so far: that's she's fundamentally empathetic and compassionate and resistant to the corrupting and deluding influence of power, on account of having been on the receiving end of cruelty and at the mercy of those with more power around her almost her entire life. She was essentially sold as a slave, for goodness sake. If she becomes obsessed with regaining her family's throne at any cost, including her "incorruptible" humanity, her character and her archetype will have served little purpose at the end of it all. George have succeeded in making a supposedly boring "archetype" like Alysanne Targaryen - someone who's fundamentally decent, common sense and resistant to corruption - incredibly compelling, and I really hope he stays the course with Daenerys, while of course presenting all sorts of challenges to her core values along the way.
*I think she will be destroyed by Winter. She will arrive in Westeros just as winter is raging, and she and the Dothraki never felt the true cold. Also, I don't think her army is powerful. She has no alliances, and without alliances her army was dwindling, unlike the other Houses. The moment she loses the dragons, she loses the war, and I don't see her having allies from the Houses of Westeros because everyone will see Dany as a monster that came across the sea with dragons to destroy everything.*
that would be cool, maybe her dragons would also be affected by the winter (i think its effects will be amplified by the others) thus dying somehow or get sick. If Faegon gets Kings Landing he will have the Golden Company with him and possibly the Martells and whatever was left of the Baratheons (- Stannis) so his army will be super large (probably more powerful than Dany's). So her chances of winning depends solely on dragons
I don't see Daenrys having three Dragons being a super difficult problem. Aside from Dragons killing each other, there are other ways to even the power level. After the dance there were 4 living Dragons. One, sheepstealer, disappeared with her rider Nettles. The Cannibal disappeared from Dragonstone never having a rider. Cannibal could reappear and do his dragonslaying thing. The other two also disappeared. Morning belonged to Rhaena Daemons daughter. At the end of the dance Morning is the size of GOT S2 Drogon. Morning is known in histories until Rhaena marries a Hightower and goes to Old Town. I believe that the Maesters killed Morning with poison. The last remaining dragon after the Dance was Silverwing, who last lived on an island near Tumleton. The Maesters likely poisoned her too. Maesters poisons and White Walker magic could even the odds without bringing in Ice Dragons.
hi, can you please talk more about the florents, and their influence on the tarlys and stannis, also about how the tarlys might switch to aegon because they want brightwater keep and the tyrells gave it to garlan instead of them
I may be a long plotter, but at least I know the story I want to tell, and the confines to not go too far off trail, the main driving force. And to have an end goal/keeping the ending at mind (a rough idea of how it ends), besides write the dang books in the first place.
Surely the winds of winter has to cover the second long night or at the very least the start of it which means Dany pretty much has to already be in Westeros! It does feel like Winds will have to be 5000 manuscript pages long to cover everything no wonder it's taking so long to write😂
Martin changed a three book narrative to a seven book structure. I think he originally anticipated TWoW would deal ultimately with the White walkers; ADoS was supposed to be the political fall out. (I could be wrong; feel free to correct me.) Daenerys’ story alone has already made that impossible. Is that part of the delay?
Those were my thoughts. I think that Martin got carried away with his creative impulses and let the story get way too big for its own good. I could see the story getting wrapped up in three more books, but two? That seems like a tall order.
@@devoralynblackwood2785 Yup I agree with you on that. I think to start out George had things more or less figured out, but things like Dany are probably delaying him because of what has to happen to get her involved in the main plot with the white walkers! Also, yeah I don't like making videos where I bash George or constantly go on about the same things. This was something I noticed about winds that is going to make it more dificult for him to write winds.
Reckon Daenerys is given a choice between fighting Others and taking Iron Throne from Aegon, and she chooses Throne. Then Aegon commandeers one of the dragons....
I think he'll be forced to add a new book before or between Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring because there are is just too much story for those two books to cover. I would have thought that that the Others would have descended on the Seven Kingdoms in Winds hence the Winds of _Winter_ , but half the people needed to fight them is hundreds of miles away. Therefore a new book is needed to get everyone into position and set everything up for the battle with the big baddies.
Maybe two of the three dragons will become feral. I don't think they need to be under anyone's control - what if Dany is the only person living who can control dragons? *She might be, and maybe three is too many to manage.*
Now we know the real reason why he couldn't write Season 8 backlash So he waited to see what happens with DOTD Ones people like it than he started to write I didn't bother watch DOTD because it's doesn't matter what happens in it Only thing that matters is song of ice and fire ending
Dany's stories after book two just aren't that interesting. It's like she is stalling for time while other characters get into place. Reading Dany reminds me of reading Tolkein, in the sense that it's a repetitive series of struggles followed by protagonists win, and then on to the next city to repeat the cycle. We could just skip all that and say she freed some cities and built up her forces before heading to Westeros.
Give the White Walkers an Elder Dragon that Daenerys has to spend 2-3 of her dragons to take out, easy. (disclaimer: I have never read the books or seen the show and am only here watching this channel for speculation on Martin finishing his books)
The Cannibal from the Dance of Dragons is an option. He is never tamed and disappears. Silverwing, Queen Alysanne's Dragon is another option. She also survived the dance and disappears.

Don’t blame it on Danny she made that show for me ,if it wasn’t for her I would never be SO in love with the show!! I’m disgusted that they did they need to rewrite her ending and I’m being serious about that!!! #DragonMomDanny🐍❤️
Tbh Dany's chapters just feel like filler. Everytime I would get to a Dany chapter I would just sigh, like "Come on we only have a few chapters left in the book, lets go back to Westeros please." After Dany got her unsullied army her chapters have been a chore to get through.
Probaly will see Drogon and will bend the knee to not end up being his dinner. What I wonder is how much time it will take her, then again Drogon came to her rescue so I guess it depends on how much it will take him to rest, eat and find his mother. Her burning the Khals and having everyone kneeling to her right after while was awesome to watch seemed unrealist, because one she just murdered all the major leaders of the Dothraki (who probaly already had a family with not so small children to claim after them), two, the Dotharaki are afraid of magic, so her walking from the flames is something I can see them being either afraid of or attack. Therfore it will take her more to take the Khals out of the picture to unite all the Dothraki and have them willingly support her to the point they will cross the see for her to fight snow zombies, they do love fight, sack and rape but fighting a supernatural being? I mean he can go with the same what happened in the series maybe more elaborated because there is a big cut from her walking from the flames and her riding along her brand new Khalasar but I wish I had at least one Dothraki telling what they think about her and why besides not being burned to the ashes by a giant dragon is motivation to fallow this self-proclaimed female Khal. Sure they respect those who are the strongest and her taming and riding a dragon makes her quite impressive for their values but she also just murdered their leaders. Even thinking about it is a very long comment, I don't want to be in G.R.R.M. place right now.
I think danerys and aegon will meet up and go help jon with the whites then aegon will die to the whites and leave just Jon and Fanny they will then fight and Jon and Danny will both die ending the targ line. Also since the dragon must have 3 head I believe at some point Jon dany and aegon will all fly dragons then all die. The book will probably end like the show since the Baratheon line, the Dornish line, the Lannister line, and the targarean line will all be dead so they will give the crown to bran since Sansa married into the crown but she is female.
The books are rushed, he uses the ever changing povs to make you think individual characters don’t cover loads real quick. It’s a real smart writing stratergy.

Pretty dumb to use the show to guess what will happen in the books, especially this nonsense. Why do you think George kept talking 10+ seasons while the show was going on? Why does it seem that certain people don't get that D&D basically did their own thing after season 4 and rushed through whatever material they had. I mean they literally shoved books 4 and 5 into one season right after splitting book 3 into two seasons.

Isn't Viserion white?
Actually any valriyan can claim a dragon
Exactly. Spot on
I doubt that's the reason since other authors had their stories finished by adaptations before they wrote their ending.
But that is an issue. Where we are in the books, he will need 3k pages to get her to Westeros and that’s too much for one book
But what a travesty if we never get an ending. A real ending. As I said, the story ends for me when she sets sail for Westeros.
It’s sweet how some people still think George is going to finish the books.
plebs gonna pleb...another 5 years they will be still reading GRRM blog and predicting sh1t
very well said everyone thinks he will finish HBO have a clause with him not too publish the Winds we dont know really only guess I really do not think he will finish it but when or if winds finishes it will be really problem is he would eventually be back too square 1 with dream of spring
Sweet summer child
He will finish Winds of Winter at the very least. Dream will likely be a much simpler book, because so many players will be wiped off the board after the complete chaos of Winds. I expect that Dream will be straightforward kinda like A Game of Thrones was, with just the main, streamlined characters driving the main plot and the supporting players feeding into that.
@@petertromp8786 I don't get this take at all. The end will be the hardest for George. It will not be simpler. It will be harder to do a good ending, than just move the already meandering characters around the map. Dream will be harder than Winds for sure.
TWOW must be split into two books. There is no way around it.
*It's obvious to me that GRRM's books have become bigger than he could have imagined. There are so many stories, prophecies, characters and mysteries that I don't think even he knows how the saga will end. That's the problem with starting a story without knowing where it's going.*
I've made this comment before: I'd like to ask GRRM one question...What if Tolkien never finished the Ring trilogy? Finish the damn series!
But Tolkien did die before finishing
I expect winds to be split in two for publishing, the first part being winds and the second part being A Time For Wolves, the original name for the 7th book.
Like what they did for AFFC and ADWD
@@cinemaniak1055 I would hope not, more like how clash and game of thrones were split, where you just split it chronologically rather than by place.
I’m really glad the channel is doing well, bruv
Thank you so much for the support as always and me too haha!
@@darksaint0124 He has stated numerous times that there are two books left. 7 books certainly seem to be his plan.
but he has to set a limit for himself, because otherwise he would NEVER finish it. Hell he may not have it done with just 7 in mind
It would be fucking hilarious to see Dany simply steam rolling aegon. But I doubt it will happen
But what if she does and that's what makes the people in Westeros hate her?
What if Tyrion convinces everyone in mareen to go to support aegon just to get back at cercei.
He could just tell barriston, greyworm, and Victorian to take their forces to Westeros
Danaerys is gone, the dragons are gone, the people done want us here…
I could see this working for Barristen because Aegon would be the true heir, but Greyworm is loyal to her and also, victarion not only wants Dany's armies but also her
@@TheGreaseGoblins Yeah love that.
@@umwha Because Tyrion convinced him to go take Westeros first, so that he didn't meet Dany as a beggar with nothing to offer.
@@made-line7627 Right, but then why did Tyrion himself continue on to Dany when he himself is a beggar with nothing to offer? Was it his intention to join Aegon, but he was captured as a slave instead?

Cersei makes sense as a "mad queen." Daenerys does NOT.
Provided it's done well, which George can do
I think he's rewriting his planned ending and the story keeps growing bigger.
One difference is that the dragons in the show cost millions where as writing them is free. I don’t completely disagree with your opinion because it is a problem. Great video
thank you!!!
Westeros Can Defeat Danerys targaryens army and dragons using wildfire, wildfire makes danys conquest of westeros a semi fair fight
He is talking more than a decade to write winds of winter. He made the first book in 6 years
He has also stated several times that he's stuck and he keeps rewriting sections of the book.
I have no idea how George’s is going to wrap this up. The world is so vast and the story is so rich.
I love your page, sir, it’s really nice to see Groups and people still discussing these books because these are my favorite series of all time even though season eight was crap. I still adore the series in the world and it’s nice that other people enjoy it as much as me.

GRRM doesn’t even care about finishing anymore. Hollywood opened its arms to him again, he’s a sell out
Ha ha ha ha...how quickly we forget.
Very true
@@made-line7627 that's also true, that dream she had where she's flying her dragon and melting people in ice armour is something I've always interpreted as foreshadowing for an eventual dragon vs whitewalker confrontation.

NO. UHN UH. Genghis Khan was a side character in European history until he wasn't. Dany is no side character and moon is no egg. It is known.
@@darksaint0124 Sorry, but I haven't read the ADWD for more than a decade. I forgot that Quentyn and his posse let them loose.
I think the fate of the dragons will be something like this
Drogon stays with dany
Viserion is taken by Euron but can't be tamed, there is this theory that dragon binder is actually a slave binding horn think of how the iron born supported Euron after it was blown and how the damphair started plotting after he supported Euron, maybe dragon binder can tame people and aggressive dragons for a short time but without valyrien blood a dragon can't be tamed.
It was supposed to be three books originally.
1. War of the Five Kings
2. Dany's invasion
3. WW invasion.

I thought that bald man in the picture with (F)Aegon, Dany and Jon was Illyn Payne hahaha, before realising it was Maester Aemon. I was so confused >_
Like if she arrives at book 7, what's left for her to do? lol
He had it mapped out prior though. And he had a timeline for 2 more books even before the show so I’m curious what it was.
George and HBO are holding him back

Distractions? Motivation?
This is also true

I may be a long plotter, but at least I know the story I want to tell, and the confines to not go too far off trail, the main driving force. And to have an end goal/keeping the ending at mind (a rough idea of how it ends), besides write the dang books in the first place.
My theory is there was a lot of season 8 in winds of Winter
D&D definitely made the right choice by simplifying Meereen.
Literally no reason for her to take the dothraki to westeros, at least not that many of them.
That's quite fascinating, thank you.
And thanks for saying that you don’t just want to bash Martin; I appreciate the “thoughtful” approach you have!
Now we know the real reason why he couldn't write
Season 8 backlash
So he waited to see what happens with DOTD
Ones people like it than he started to write
I didn't bother watch DOTD because it's doesn't matter what happens in it
Only thing that matters is song of ice and fire ending
He probably finished Tyrion's storyline already so I don't think that's the reason. His ass is just not writing lol.
Dany's stories after book two just aren't that interesting. It's like she is stalling for time while other characters get into place. Reading Dany reminds me of reading Tolkein, in the sense that it's a repetitive series of struggles followed by protagonists win, and then on to the next city to repeat the cycle. We could just skip all that and say she freed some cities and built up her forces before heading to Westeros.
agreed honestly
the solution is adding one more book before spring
Give the White Walkers an Elder Dragon that Daenerys has to spend 2-3 of her dragons to take out, easy. (disclaimer: I have never read the books or seen the show and am only here watching this channel for speculation on Martin finishing his books)
The Cannibal from the Dance of Dragons is an option. He is never tamed and disappears. Silverwing, Queen Alysanne's Dragon is another option. She also survived the dance and disappears.

Tbh Dany's chapters just feel like filler. Everytime I would get to a Dany chapter I would just sigh, like "Come on we only have a few chapters left in the book, lets go back to Westeros please." After Dany got her unsullied army her chapters have been a chore to get through.
We know the dosh khaleen will bend the knee to Dany but idk how and why xd
but we know Dany have to pass beneath the shadow (vaes dothrak) to touch the light
