- This is my review, and unboxing of the Czhoon 5 port USB C Hub, USB C Adapter 3.1 with Type C Charging Port, 4K HDMI Port, and 3 USB 3.0 Ports, Compatible with MacBook Pro, Chromebook, Nintendo Switch, USB Flash Drives and More found at amzn.to/2CZG7Ff
I have used usb hubs for quite some time now, especially with the lack of the needed ports on computers these days. Then the thought came across my mind. I wonder what would happen if I plugged a hub into my cell phone? I wonder what devices would work with the phone’s built in drivers? I wonder if I could use this hub to basically turn my phone into the processor of a computer? Take a look, and see if it worked for me.

That was my idea before watch. And I'm here already looking for solution i have smartphone huwaie p20 lite and i buy ugreen 10 in one usbc hub.. Then try with lg tv 4k and not working then i read again and was notification that i should use power delivery charger and i buying it then try again and also not working. I don't know what should to do more.. Any recommendation for it

Did you have to change anything in the phone settings to get it to register that the hub had an HDMI port? My hub is being picked up as a storage device and the USB ports work perfectly fine, but I get nothing on my TV when I plug it in from the HDMI port.
No, it's all driver base. So if it's seeing everything but the HDMI, that means your phone probably does not support HDMI out.

You can make a PC if your phone supports that mode, and with this dongle you can add monitor, mouse n keyboard and you can have full expirience

Most likely not. The hub is just a hub. The VGA driver would need to be in your phone. Most phones these days have a HDMI driver, but I'm not sure about the VGA

It should work with most smartphones that have a USB C connection. I say most, because there is always a possibility that the phone manufacturer doesn't allow it, or didn't activate it. Also, sometimes certain apps don't allow mirroring.

does the phone need to be unlocked to show the mouse? because for me the LCD screen is gone however I can connect it to tv using hdmi and see the locked display. Just need a way to connect a mouse to unlock it and get the data I want from it
If on Android, you may need to unlock your Developer Options for the show pointer to show up as an option.
Your phone must have HDMI out it also called ALT MODE DP and they are on flagship phones like Samsung S series

Yes, depending on what your phone allows. Some activate the otg drivers while others don't

Yes, it can mirror at the same time as using a mouse and keyboard. Every device is different, so you would need to try yours out to see if it works. A lot of times, a quick internet search might list the compatibilities of certain devices.

All phones are different. I do not know what drivers are pre-loaded in your phone. As long as your phone has a USB-C port, the mouse and keyboard "SHOULD" work. Other than that, I'm not sure what other external devices any particular phone might be able to use.
So what about keyboard and mouse at the same time ?
I just bought one and it doesn't work with my s8 , which does support otg and the hdmi output because of DeX mode, but it didn't work, any idea of why?
The only thing I can think of it to make sure that you didn't choose charge as the usb option.
might be something to do with mhl as samsungs require mhl compatible cables for display output
Hi.I need you help. I have a Ugreen 5 in 1 usb C dongle and a hdmi to hdmi cable. I connect. my dongle to the phone and the hdmi like what you did but the TV said there is no signal. How can I fix that? edit: also the TV reads the HDMi but it's said no signal. The mouse is working but for the hdmi port its not working.
Every phone is different. The phone has to have the correct drivers built in, and allow the HDMI output. Also, some apps don't allow output, while the phone might.

Does it work when using the mouse and connected to the TV monitor simultaneously? So I can work the mouse and not used my cell screen as the screen is cracked?.

also, you need to have USB debugging active? I also have a cracked screen with no touch available ... and I wanted to transfer everything from my old one to the new one .. but the USB debugging is off ... so I want to do the same to activate the second screen to be able to enter in settings and activate the option

No, it works the other way. It can make a PC monitor a mirrored screen of your smartphone.
Good review. I wish you could've shown a bit more of using it as an actual PC, but good nonetheless.
I bought a similar hub for virtually the same purpose. The hub I bought has an ethernet port so you can get better speeds and save your battery by not leaving Wifi on. Pretty cool stuff.

@@fredneedle123 I got a TOTU 9-in-1 USB C. On my main phone it didn't work for ethernet (nor did a couple others I tried because I believe that my phone doesn't accept some of the connections types (ethernet, HDMI out). I never got HDMI out to work on either of my phones, so I think the HDMI requires a Thunderbolt port, which uses a USB C plug.
You probably want to get one that doesn't require a separate power connection and can draw power from the phone. It drains the battery more but you have the option of charging it through the hub, something you'd be doing anyway with the ones that require a separate power connection. The hub also worked on my laptop.

I also have USB-C hub, but what I really needed isn't working, USB charging. When I connect charger nothing happen.
If on a computer, try a different port. Sometimes charging only works on certain ones with certain brands. There might be a lightning bolt next to the charging one.

Yes, but it all depends on what each phone has the internal drivers and hardware to allow to work.

Could you use this on a mobile with a cracked screen (unable to type password unlock) to control the mobile, unlock it, and back up the data etc.?
I would think so, but never tried it. You may have to use the hub to connect the keyboard, then switch over to a direct cable to the computer for backing up.

Well, the HDMI function probably depends mostly on the phone(!), which needs an USB-C port with DisplayPort (DP). If your phone doesn't support it, you need a different adapter for HDMI AND have to decide, if you want to use HDMI OR a keyboard/mouse/storage!

My father-in-law got a hub from amazon and he uses it to connect a wireless keyboard on his tablet. The thing is that when he plugs the charger in while the keyboard is being used the phone doesn't receive the electricity. Is there any explanation to this issue or is the tablet just not capable of transferring data and electricity at the same time?
Every device is different. Are you talking about this hub, or a different one? (I ask since you said got a hub) If it's this hub, the USB-C charging port is the one on the Left side while looking at the name on it. Other hubs may or may not support charging, not all do. A lot of times there will be a picture of a lightning bolt near the charging capable port.

As the second question, sure, if it's conected to your phone you can acces the storage, as for pd, it's a very specific technology, I don't believe you could pass 100w to an common adapter Edit: since you have to use the data pins to power when pd

Yea it works for some applicants. Like gaming etc. I have checked. But you need to do key mapping otherwise it wont work.

You could always just lower the brightness all the way down

It works with PCs and Macs as well. For phones, I only have an android to test it with. If it works with iPhone, you would need a USB-C to Lighting adapter. But, I do not know if it does.

funny thing is years ago when windows released their phone and showed the usb c adapters..NFC and wireless charging.extra display to tvs and use ur phone as a laptop.. everyone ignored it.. and the phones are now the way of the dinos...as usual - they bring ideas no one pays attention till years later when everyone catches up then its "new tech!" :O

hehe just kidding. I think what you are showing it's actually a great idea if you have an "old" phone and you want to use your tv for kodi. It's definitely faster and more reliable than the android boxes you can buy on ebay for 20-30 £ that always have issues.

I have an Unihertz Jelly 2E phone (Android 12), a 5 year old HDTV (not a Smart TV), an old USB mouse (I dont if it is USB 2.0 or 3.0) and a Sandisk Cruzer Glide 16 GB USB flash drive (bought in Nov. 2016 and I dont know if it is USB 2.0 or 3.0). I need to mirror the phone to the TV so I can have a bigger screen and dont have to look at the small phone screen all the time. The TV has an HDMI port. I need to connect the mouse to the phone so I can look, tap and swipe on the TV instead of looking, tapping and swiping at the small phone screen. I need to connect the flash drive to the phone so I can access the files. Can someone recommend 1 adapter hub or something that is available at Walmart or Amazon that can handle these all at the same time (instead of buying 2 or more separate adapters or hubs). Thanks.

Why bother with all the cables when you can mirror your phone wirelessly using different methods like chromecast or built in casting feature. That way you have your phone in your hand, sitting nicely away from the tv & controlling it. This is good for old phones or cracked phones. Why do you want to go back in time? 😛
Not all phones can cast. Plus this does more than just video out. It's got USB ports as well for pugging in external devices.

@@siddharthkshirsagar5159 I'm confused at what you are saying. This video is showing use of the adapter with a mouse and hdmi out. If you mean it's not showing casting, why would it, it's about the adapter and the HDMI port.
