This phone is a beast. osu!lazer is absolutely terribly optimized for Android atm and even good hardware struggles to get good fps. They're focusing on getting the Desktop version fully done before improving mobile
I played Arcaea on a 2015 phone and it runs better. It never have any input drop. Just the audio delay is very big and sometimes got fps drop if you use fracture hikari or any hard gauge due to the bleeding overlay effect.
I love rhythm games, but most of them are just like "press one of these four fields and repeat" there is not much difference. My favourite rhythm games are ones that play completely different: Patapon, Space Channel 5, Samba De Amigo, Project Diva, Rhythm Thief, etc. Most of them have a story that is mostly interesting (depends on the person to decide, since they are a little abstract mostly), and plays into the Gameplay aswell (Space Channel 5: create groove moxie to defeat enemies and save kidnapped people/Patapon: beat the drums in a specific pattern to the rhythm of the erath to command your troops and save the Patapon-tribe) Edit: Most games I mentioned are basically placed different exclusive consoles: Rhythm Thief on 3DS, Patapon 1,2 and 3 on PSP/PS Vita (don't play the bad PS4 remasters!), Project Diva mostly on PS home-consoles with some exceptions, Samba De Amigo on Dreamcast and sequel on Wii, Space Channel 5: Part 1 on Dreamcast and PS2 and Part 2 pretty much everywhere (the third game on PS4 will soon become available on Steam!). Especially Patapon and Space Channel 5 gave me some of the greatest moments in my life and I have SO much playtime for these, that it's hard not to recommend them. Space Channel 5 is definitely one of the harder ones, though!
You may need to write a custom kernel, modify the audio buffer and compile your operating system yourself, to get even lower audio/touch input latency.
In most of android phones, if you hold 2 fingers close enough to each other, the phone will stupidly register as only one and the registered touch is located right between the 2 fingers.
I don't think a big screen is really that necessary for OverRapid though. In fact, I find smaller screens to my advantage because when you do note slides, your fingers don't really have to travel as far (I play mainly thumbs-only). Scratch notes are also more easily reached and you have more control. I've played some professional ranked maps on a 5-inch screen, one time even at 4+inches. Still refreshing to finally see a youtuber play OverRapid though, three years ago all gameplay footage was rare and low quality.
As someone who's playing PC games on 144 fps, I'm really interested on trying to play mobile rhythm games on 144 fps. Also, yes! Please do make a video on OverRapid. I never played the game myself, but I always love when you make videos on rhythm games besides osu!. There's just not a lot of content regarding them besides the usual full combo/all perfect videos.
Btw when playing opsu, u can get 120-144hz depending on the game (i usually play maps with hd vids and i get 120hz) and it was good to play tho my phone's touch response not good as 5s, cuz i got the 5g but in terms of screen refresh rate it's almost same.
Android arcaea isnt buggy, the reason it drops arcs is because android phones do this thing where if you have two inputs close together enough it connects them in the middle, its android doing it, not arcaea. I tested it, and it happened on the home screen and other apps too
The issue here is that it's wider than even the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra that BengaleeHS currently uses. The implication here is that were it not so wide it would be doable. And tokaku even said it's impossible "without like- yeah, you know", but that "yeah, you know" is something that we all know BengaleeHS is able to do.
