“So, without any further ado…”. There’s never any ado on this channel (which is a good thing, believe me). Great DIY!

Important with Porsches with an ABS in the Brake System the order changed, so the first wheel is front left, front right, rear left and rear right. Usually 1-2 liters of Brakefluid necessary

Just found this channel, amazing! I just replaced the break pad & rotors on my 2002 911 carrera 4... I need that bleeder kit! I took the calipers completely off to clean and re- paint red with white Porsche decals...

Can you share the specific model number of the motive equipment for the Motive Bleeder please? Including the fluid reservoir cap and line? Fantastic video. I'm loving all of them. Well executed and easy to follow.

Hey great video, I liked it very much. I am originally german and just got myself the 996 C4 - my dream since I am 6 years old! Just wondered if it is not better to first empty the reservoir from the old brake fluid before connecting the motive bleeder - otherwise you have to drain all this through the calipers before getting the new brake fluid there...no?

How is the Porsche dealer flushing and refilling the brake fluid without removing the wheels?

Why do you need to take the strainer out? I don't see any issues with leaving it in.

You should leave it in, it's there to catch any contaminants that could be in your new brake fluid.

Bleeding usually done in diagonal pattern:rr-fl, rl-fr. that how brake system designed . But for some reason everyone say do furthest first. All 2000s repair manuals for VW used to say diagonally.

Porsche manual says “in no particular order”. Just 1.5 bar of pressure and flush until clean

@@Van-tastic 1.5 bar is approx. 22 PSI. I'd be concerned about popping off the reservoir. I use 12 to 15 psi. Seems to be fast enough. My recollection is that the instructions for the Motive say not to use more than 15.

@@GarthGoldberg Garth, I just read the manual… as usual, Porsche is annoying with it’s procedures. So, vehicles without TC, like my 99, should use approximately 1.5bar. Vehicles with TC, should use 1.5 - 2.0bar.
Additionally, the procedure for “bleeding the brakes” calls out RR, LR, RF, LF. However, the procedure for “changing the brake fluid” says, “no special sequence”.
What’s the difference between bleeding the brakes and changing the brake fluid? We’re not qualified to know!

@@Van-tastic if you let out all of the old fluid, then you're changing the fluid. Otherwise you're just bleeding the system, i.e. letting air bubbles and and some of the old fluid out.

Does the cap go tight, mine gets tight and then skips teeth and gets loose again.

Hi Doc, the cap on the reservoir does get tight. Perhaps yours has been overtightened in the past.
