    I also prefer the DJI Mic 2. Not only is the sound crisper and brighter, but the touch screen and Bluetooth direct connection to multiple devices are truly convenient!

      Yes i agree...i have news from hollyland, a 32bit float is coming sooon

  • @CC-gt3ro
    @CC-gt3ro Месяц назад +3

    First I want to mention that despite having bad view, I have very good ears and listen the sound on quality speakers, and i am audiophile with quality devices, and i think the Hollyland Lark Max has slightly more rounded warm sound with little more bass with noise cancelling off. And with noice cancelling on, the Hollyland is definitely better with its ENC noise cancellation, avoiding boxy resonance and distortion. But it is my opinion, and another person could have a different view. This is a opinion only based on the sound. The Dji has few advantages though, like 32 bits float, and the camera adapter for Sony with Mi hot shoe for digital recording without the classic TRS 3.5 mm cable which is a advantage on the gimbal, not having this cable dangling and could hit the screen or body.

    The BT capability was not enough to get me buy the DJI Mic 2. I like the Hollyland Lark Max and it has better sound tbh. The extra steps and inconvenience is bearable imo.

      Yeah i can understand, but for me i vlog with action 4 pocket 3 mainly so dji mic 2 easier no added plugs or cables

      @@photorabz Same here. I really tried to justify the bluetooth connectivity to buy the DJI Mic 2; however, BT is not as reliable as WiFi and Hollyland Max had one of the best signal hooping in the market. Maybe if it becomes more of a hassle, I'll make the switch but I just can't seem to press the Buy It Now button lol

    Beyond the sound quality which is the most ,the common problem is when your talent turn his back and always we pray for non cuts ,of cause at normal distance . That I want to compare
    The job done very well with both
    And also very important for me the noise cancellation which is obvious better with Hollyland when mostly my job have a lot of interviews on the ….roads or in noisy places

    The dji mic 2 being easier to connect into different devices is a big plus, but i honestly think the max had better sound quality, i also wish you attached the mics to your shirt in a more real world usage, so hard for me to choose between the 2

      Sound quality-wise, I don't really notice a difference between them, but when it comes to usability, it's a whole different story. DJI stands out not only for its seamless connectivity with multiple devices but also for its impressive direct Bluetooth pairing.

    Great video thank you. So i assume that the hollyland lark max has no bluetooth function to connect to a camera? in meanwhile i ordered the sabinetek smartmike+ and hope i will get nice results with the ace pro. Maybe in future i will also get the DJI Mic2, but currently its not working with the ace pro camera (and it might not be in the interest of insta360 to fix this soon as they might be sponsoring dji via this)

    Can you confirm with Mic 2 and Lark Max:
    With mic transmitting via Bluetooth is:
    - Noise canceling available?
    - is internal recording available?

    • @photorabz
      @photorabz  Месяц назад

      Mic 2 via bluetooth to action 4 and pocket 3, internal recording works.
      Lark max no bluetooth
      Noise cancelling is a function separatrd from bluetooth so it works anyway

    • @MrPlaneTalk
      @MrPlaneTalk Месяц назад +1

      Thank you. That’s interesting. The manual for the DJI Mic 2 seems to indicate that noise canceling does not work during Bluetooth transmission.

    • @photorabz
      @photorabz  Месяц назад

      On pocket 3/ action 4 it works...maybe the transmission with these 2 cameras is not the basic bluetooth?

    Audio quality test is not useful nor rigorous. You tend to turn your head to your right when you speak. You speak into your right hand and the left hand is off-axis. You should hold the capsules of the mics along the same XYZ planes and not at random and fluctuating positions in different hands.

    • @photorabz
      @photorabz  2 месяца назад

      That's totally true.. i tried to make a test in real life conditions to see how they perform in grab and go style

    • @KentBuchla
      @KentBuchla 2 месяца назад +1

      @@photorabz yeah, but you MUST hold the capsules on the same 3 dimensional planes or you've literally provided a faulty test or unintentionally led people astray.

    • @photorabz
      @photorabz  2 месяца назад

      I can understand your point but i don't think that the capsules were really far one from each other in regards of me... few cms for this and few cms for that is not a big deal

    • @KentBuchla
      @KentBuchla 2 месяца назад

      @@photorabz It's a huge deal. As you stated, you aren't really an audio guy. I've worked in a technical capacity for some of the world's largest audio manufacturers; including one of the most well-known professional microphone companies to have ever existed. It''s a MASSIVE difference that is testable, measurable, and substantial. No amount of excuse-making and deciding to have a differing and non-scientifically/ non-evidence-based 'opinion' will change that.
      It's just flat wrong and you should have the humility to accept that publicly, learn, and then move on. Seriously, just read 2 pages of any professional microphone guide or manual. The Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook is an excellent start.
      I've only been in this industry for 30 years. You can take the free advice or make excuses that will cause experienced people to roll their eyes.

      @@KentBuchla i said that you are totally right before sir, but i also said that this is a vlog test, when vlogging (which is not an audio based job) you have a mic on your shirt for example and you can talk in all the direction and this is about the audio experience not an expertise of the mics in lab tests and controlled conditions, we have to add that the noise coming from the right aren't picked the same way by the mic on the left and so on in this video...
