- "Amazing!!! Today which is Veterans Day I'm sitting in my car on a rainy day. I see a man walking around with no shoes. I ask where his shoes were. He explained that he had recently was admitted to a homeless shelter and on his third day some bad men there beat him up and stole the only belongings he had. I decided to give him shoes. He was extremely grateful. He told me his name was Sarge and that he was a 10 year army veteran. Sarge explained that after he served his term he was not able to get government assistance and hit rock bottom. "Hurts my heart, that a man could be willing to serve his country with pride and be left with no help upon honorable discharge.
Took the shoes off his feet to help a complete stranger... That's a man with love in his heart.... God Bless
And he let him keep his dignity by saying the new shoes were giving him blisters and didn't fit him to make the homeless man feel like he was actually helping him by taking them. What a saint-in-the-making this man is. Love also how thankful that veteran was.

About 20 years ago my mom and I walked out the mall and saw a homeless man outside in 30 degree weather. She gave him a brand new Nike sweater she had JUST BOUGHT FOR ME!!! I was upset at first but the gratitude that man had changed the way I live my life!!!

my mom said she was homeless when I was born and then she said so many people walk past her and me and then a women gave her a lot of money god bless her and now I have a home
my mom was homeless when she was pregnant with me because my dad left her and took everything so my mom had to go out and sell drugs to make money even though it wasn't right she started going to church and everything started to change

That's a great idea you should do a GoFundMe page for homeless veterans that have people donate and then use the money to purchase coats blankets and stuff for the homeless and pass it around

Someone did this for me when I was homeless at fifteen. They drove by and stopped. It was winter in Baltimore and it was -15 outside. They gave me their spare change of clothes, coat, and shoes since I was barefoot. I love this video so much.

i am homeless due to covid back in march i used to work for a corporate catering company but they shut down i am only 26 years old and am living on the streets trying to find a job and place to sleep on a daily basis. I havent ate in a few days and any donation will help. I have a free obama phone the county pays for and i am able to charge my phone at a local starbucks or at the library. cash app $therealtkashh

Sad to see a war veteran suffer like this. A man who put his life on the line to protect his country deserves more. He even refused the shoes until the guy insisted. He thanked God immediately and displayed some sense of humor despite his ordeal. Salute to you Sarge!

Me too man. I've been walking past these homeless guys begging for money at the entrance to my supermarket. Torn betwee n giving everytime. Surely we as a society can have systems where we can say come with me & start rehabilitation.

This has actually been a major problem for pretty much every war the US has had. Too many soldiers go out and they're not compensated. They come back to find some of them losing their jobs and a good portion of them suffer from some sort of mental disability. See "VA scandal in America" to see how screwed the situation is for more.

Everyone and situation we come across is a test in our life, our neighbours, that grumpy guy living across the street, everyone has a story.
