daily advice from Poet: This likely won’t be as extreme in most cases, but I gained circa 200 rapid elo after playing in a single classical tournament. The understanding I got from having to calculate that deeply and look at my position in that much nuance shifted my mindset about rapid from “blitz with more time” to “classical with less time”. I just started making better decisions, and played less “hope chess”. Even 30 minute games have helped me get out of tilt now and then..
Are you serious about playing over the board? If so, what will you do when you play a tournament with opponents that know they will be playing you and will be able to prepare against your openings? Do you think that you will be able to go up the ladder with just the Caro-Kann and Vienna? I am using those two because they seem to be the most played. Is it really a stupid opening if you lose to it? Finally, why are you playing chess when you know you are tilted?
I think you really overestimate how many people will know he's a youtuber though. In most OTB tournaments here pairings are decided last minute based on who shows up anyway, so unless it's a closed tournament even if you know they're making videos it'll hadly be worth it to properly prepare against (who in the grand theme of chess is literally) just another decent player
Any tournament I play in (which is like twice a year maybe lol) is nobody preparing against each other. I'll learn other stuff if I need to when the time comes. And yes an opening can be stupid if you lose to it. You think the bongcloud isn't a stupid opening even if some people have lost to it?
@@tripolarmisfit ahhh yes, putting words in my mouth lol. ive never once claimed to think im even close to master level🤣and im allowed to do a speedrun so why wouldnt i? if i can help even a couple people with it, then its worth it. now, rather than bringing negativity to my community, just go elsewhere

Ouuu nice! I've played some OTB and came back and had a mix of feeling better but also worse
Dark Apex video. I kinda enjoyed watching the tilted warrior who wins using 1 minute on the clock.

He continues playing because he thinks he's a Master. He even started that speedrun like REAL Masters do. Pffff what a joke.

@@ApexChesss I think if you lose to a "stupid opening" then it's not so stupid.
