I acutally think it is not only in Black Metal where the finnish stuff is just this little bit more melodic and very recognizable over metal from other countries. Because no matter if you look at really hardcore Black Metal or on the other hand at bands like Amorphis, Brymir, Kalmah, Wintersun, Wolfheart, Insomnium, Shade Empire, Swallow the Sun etc. You can pretty much ALWAYS here from the very first melody being played that these bands are from Finnland. Actually i pretty much enjoy everything from those people no matter what subgenre of metal it is from, it just has this finnish vibe that really does it for me.
Great content! Serious question here: how do you approach the producing of a black metal track? It's really hard to find information on how to make a song sound raw but still defined and in a way, 'good'. I tried to find out on RUclips but you only get comedy oriented 'how to be black metal', where they just make everything sound shitty on purpose. I really struggle with this, because I get half-decent at producing death metal and I think it's easier, using a DAW and VSTs to make a song sound 'tight' than 'raw'. What's your opinion on this? Cheers from Switzerland

After listening to this tutorial, one realizes how much bands like Mgla and Uada owe to the finnish bm scene for inspiring their sound...
Mgla is inspired by Finnish scene (Clandestine Blaze mostly) and Uada....is inspired by Mgla x)
