I looked for an hour before I found this, watched about 10 videos that advised on things ranging from downloading software to making registry edits, and you solve the problem in (not quite) 49 seconds. Not all heroes wear capes.

Many thanks. It didn't work on mine but you definitely helped. On my PC, in the Folder Options dialogue window, view tab, I had to deselect 'Show preview handlers in preview pane'. Now my photo's preview again.
