    Anybody who rules out Shelly knows very little to nothing about her capabilities. Mark you, I am not saying she has to medal, but I will never rule her out. I will even push it a bit further and say that she could even win it all. The possibilities are endless with a legendary veteran like Shelly.

    Yes she can and she will! Maybe not the gold.I dislike the conversations pertaining to an athlete and age, thirty seven she is still young youth still favours her.Evelyn Asford ran until 38yrs and won a medal and she was very competitive too..

    Shelly wouldn’t be there if she didn’t feel she was fit enough to medal, she medaled last year despite pretty much the same circumstances so I wouldn’t write her off and she’s been the worlds most consistent sprinter approaching two decades now so…..

    If Shelly reports fit at the start of the 100m she will start her season like 2022 and 2023 with sub 10.7.
    How many persons can run sub 10.7

    It’s not giving up, it is accepting reality. She is not in great shape and there are many others out there running much faster than she is right now. I don’t think she will make the podium. It’s not about age, she is just not in good enough shape.

    Shelly not fully healthy and is more than likely feeling pain in the latter stages of the race. So no she wont medal but if she was healthy a podium finish is definate.

    We have to face the facts that Shaccari Richardson is at her A game and Shelly is not in top form. Shericka is not taking part and Elaine is out. The truth is it doesn’t look assured for our females to get 100m gold in this Olympic year. Our best female contenders for some weird reason are not at their A game this time around
