- In this video I'm building my Maddoxjets Viper 50, 50 pound thrust valveless pulsejet engine running on propane. I sell kits, plans and complete engines for the Viper engine both in propane and diesel power, for kits and engines just email me at rrocketmann@charter.net and I will give you all the prices and get your engine out to you.
All valved engines are available at www.maddoxjets.com.
I love the new format. Production quality is fantastic.
I would love to see a small lightweight coupe with two of these strapped to the sides. What kind of extra thrust would you get on a vehicle that size?
I see you have played with the Gluhareff pressure jet engine. I spoke to him a few times when he was alive and selling plans, kits and complete engines. He said that he never could get it to work in the inline configuration. Always wondered about it's efficiency compared to other pulse jets. Love your videos, and work. Best wishes!
Yes, I will be doing a video soon! it is the only engine I ever made fro a plan, I don't sell the engine but it's really fun.
GREAT! Looking forward to watching that.
What i really dont get about these engines. How do you prevent backfiring into the fuel inlet/ propane tank?
There's no oxygen in the propane tank so that is impossible
You should invite Collin Furze out to the event. He could learn a thing or two from you. When will you be in Cedarville next? I live in Alturas and would love to come see these in person.
Cool! I will be posting when I'm there and will be there a lot this summer! Colin is a big inspiration for me, not for pulsejet stuff but for starting his own channel and making it big.
Collaboration with Colin would give you some much-needed and deserved exposure!
the kettle pulse jet.............
Actually Colin emailed me and said he may be in the states this your and might stop by, that would be cool!
You are awesome! Respekt for instant start!
How long does a tank of propane last for the 50lb thrust?
So how much do these weigh? Propane and diesel tanks. Pulsejet. Kart. Want to calculate how big a hang glider I would need to attach to it.
Would a 180 air intake pipe to the intake after warm-up, blow out your burn? In other words, why is the intake facing backwards from oncoming air? Thanks 👍🏻
How long can these run without melting. The heat they produce looks incredible. Any way to cool them?
I like how simple the valveless pulse jet is. Looks like they give off lots of heat and burn clean. My question is why couldn't we build a chamber around it like fire brick and run the exhaust through a insulated flue to run forced air to heat a building. Idk just a thought.
I would think that the main problem is these are not very efficient if heat if the primary goal, and the secondary is just how incredibly loud these things are. They produce large amounts of power for their size/simplicity, and that's really it lol
It was a concept for building heating many years ago.
Bob ...the man the mythe the legend
Nope just a fool, making inefficient engines that cant be used for anything practical. He might as well be trying to build a steam engine, coz these things are useless
Love the engines and how you show the process of making them. I'm interested in the possibility of making an infrasonic sound weapon around 10-20Hz (instead of your 108Hz). Of course, it should be very loud, like 150 dB SPL or greater at those frequencies. Do you think simply lengthening the two pipes would do it, and/or would you go for upsizing the combustion chamber (either way will lower the resonant frequency). Estimating the SPL would be difficult; probably a prototype would be needed.
You Sir have won a new subscriber
I bope you & bob will be very happy together
Excellent!
thats amaizing do you have the plan for these i am currently making mine... also how is it instnt start? is it the precise geometry?
How do you start it without an air blower? It starts only with a spark plug?
Looking good Bob!!!
If the engine is valveless, how is air directed out the exhaust and not the intake?
Have not seen your channel for awhile, nice to see you are working with the valveless designs. Have you experimented with the gluharef jets?
I think me making a tin can version is 200% more impressive.
Jk. THAT IS GORGEOUS. Dude. Wish I had a Workshop.
Great work.
(Try to use Alcohol or Something similar). (High Percentage).
Kickass!
cuanto combustible consume x minuto ...????
Is there a way to make one about 20% of that size for model airplanes?
what is the welding skill required for a project like this? can someone that just starting out make acceptable welds?
Well, it is a tig weld and not for a real new guy, however if you find a local fab shop they can weld a rolled kit together for you in about two hours or less, not to much money.
Just use supa glue, much easier
@@billsmith281Would Ducktape do?
That one moment at the end
Yeah all that work for one moment, lol
nice
I'mma put that 150 on my little boat
Good

How much fuel consume per second?
Lots & lots more
What kind of fuel is also relevant...I'm pretty sure they use some kind of mix of gas and propane..
Try 2GF(R), 6GF(R).
Ramjet instead
First

I think colin is better at this job
I think your right
lame... no use for this gimmick
He shows uses in the video
He shows uses in the video
