How about when you are shutting it off hit the propane then shut off the diesel and run it on the. Propane for a few seconds then turn off the propane to give it a chance to burn off the left over diesel . That should fix the smoke problem
Wow, the one thing that’s always turned me off about PulseJets is their difficulty starting them and the man power. But seriously your design has eliminated that. I’d love to hit the dry lake beds around here. Congratulations on the design, maybe one day I’ll be able to fire up one myself.
I only WISH, Someone would build some Heat Sink Fins on that exhaust pipe so it won't let go by excessive heat, then use Kerosene for fuel, or does that frighten ya'all too much?
I'm going to guess no. My reasoning is this is a negative pressure engine, requiring some previous explosion back into the combustion chamber to start the current cycle, and adding a non-combustible element like water would probably end the cycle. With a standard engine, I think it would work as the water would divide into its essential parts of hydrogen and oxygen.
Off topic for this vid. In the future vid on the Gluhareff pressure jet you have planned will you be pressurizing the propane tank with nitrogen to 300 PSIG as Gluhareff told me would result in the lowest SFC possible for this engine?
Hi Tim, I built the engine following the plans with some small variations, once I got the engine producing thrust I did a few tweaks and got more thrust but I only got about 45 pounds, I pressurized the tank to about 280 psi but the engine just wouldn't come up to more thrust. There is only one video on youtube of this size engine pushing a go kart and I would say it was probably making about the same thrust. Sense I can not find a video of this engine making 130 pounds of thrust on a thrust gauge, one would have to question the claim, however I'm not going to call anyone a lier sense this engine was popular back in the day when video was not so easy to make, in any case it is a very fun engine to play with and it may just be I don't have it in tune.
Hey folks, just a quick heads up re INSIDE diameters for your Glue 130R intakes: It seems that some different third stage throat diameters are being reported as the RQR plans don't give an exact measurement, but forces the purchaser (of the plans) to measure the distance then X 2. If the ID of the throat on your 130R is 4.1875 then it will effect the INSIDE diameters of the 2nd and first intake tubes. So for a 3rd stage throat diameter of 4.1873 the 2nd stage INSIDE diameter should be 3.625, and the ID of the 1st stage should be 1.8125. Intake lengths can remain the same (excluding the quarter round fluting/flaring: 5, 15 and 7.5 inches L respectively. For 3rd stage throat diameter of 4.125" , 2nd and 1st stage INSIDE diameters = 3.578 and 1.78 inches respectively.(no changes in lengths). As aforementioned, if the area of the 2nd stage intake IS NOT a minimum of 75% of the 3rd stage throat area, then combustion gases will reflux/regurgitate at the 2nd/3rd stage "junction", and there will be a decrease in ambient air flow (both of which will decrease the performance of your Glue). I'm getting +/- 140 lbs./force out of my inline...she breaths beautifully and doesn't burp! roland2001 AKA Kevin kylebear2000@hotmail.com

Hello Mr. I have an idea for this type of pulse motor, this design would allow the self cooling of the motor .... would you be interested in building it?.
i wish i could tell you why i am here learning about pulse jet engines because i really wish someone (if not me) would make what i am thinking of, but it is a secret that i must make alone... :(
That's all you can say? Maddox kills himself to roll camera while he's making this complex engines and all you can do complain about 100 milliseconds. OMG!
Thanks Señor🙌, you're the best... You just made my mentors list and I must meet with you face-to-face one day😌.
There’s a ghost image of the rod flowing during one of the welding clips that is awesome. ❤️
Love the engineering and the enthusiasm 👍
Love it when you switch on the Diesel. Going to try it with mine.
I never see anyone hanging out with you man. Wish I lived closer because your my idol. Keep on keeping on. Wannabe apprentice here.
I like how the pressure jet started vibrating and was getting ready to fall down
Holly shit, that burned so clean, the flame was purplish green.
Hey! Finally some DECENT music on a RUclips build video.... 🤘

Yeah props have to be given to him for that!
do you have a video of designing the instant start?
Rob, what is the weight of this double engine with and without the fuel system?
Thanks
NICE!!! why the air intakes face backward?
Robert, how much thrust did the engine produce?
100 pounds of thrust
Watch Bob weld is almost as enjoyable as seeing his mad max machines rip across the lake bed.
where can i find plans.
A fun day at the shop.
Well, i think using passive tesla valve can help to avoid having inlet looking back. If it will look forward it will also make extra work.
I'm going to buy a jet soon!
Great work !!
that's awesome... and the soundtrack is so perfect! Is there a playlist? ^^
Pulse-Eninge is more like a Hell-Trumpet
You are a bad ass.
How big would one be that generates 500lb/thrust?
Id like to see that pushing a go-cart...
he has a video of one that does 900, look at the channel, its in the title
TLDR: its 2 of them that take up the space of a flat bed car trailer
I only WISH, Someone would build some Heat Sink Fins on that exhaust pipe so it won't let go by excessive heat, then use Kerosene for fuel, or does that frighten ya'all too much?
My question is, what would happen if you run both diesel and propane as fuels at the same time?
Yeah... what would happen if you injected oxygen in the fire chamber?
Could you flush the left over diesel out by switching back to propane before shutting off the engine?
Well... yes I do that sometimes if it's hot so I don't cool the start tank to much.
Hi Bob! Can that engine also work with a water injection to increase thrust, as other jet engines can use? 😀

Does giving propane .. self start the engine ?
I mean without compressed air intake

Did you use a DeLaval nozzle or orifice tube?

How can I get one?
If you switched back to propane at the end of your run it might burn out the residual diesel fuel to avoid all of that smoke.
You should get slow Mo guys to come give you some more publicity, show what a pulse jet looks like at 10,000 fps
If u can tell me about the dimensions of the twin viper pulse jet engine,
I want to make one for my college project
what is the rod and inert welding torch your using.
Great video Bob. :)
What weld settings/gauge sheet are you using?
18 gauge about 90 amps I weld fast.
Can someone explain to me the principle of aerodynamics?
Super.thankyou very much
I wish I could weld like that. You're fucking nuts in a way that really appeals to me.
I want to party with you!!! Shop party! Talented to say the least. Thanks, so interesting!!!
Sir I want you to tech me more about the jet
how much does it cost to build one engine for someone
If you want to buy an engine just email me at rrocketmann@charter.net Thanks.

Ive been watching your vids and love it . Im assuming you have tried using a desiel glow plug and didnt work ?
Not hot enough... A pulse jet doesn't have the compression of a piston engine to help add heat to the combustion chamber
Needs some augmentors
epic!

Why don't you purge it? too bad to see such nice boiler making part full of sugaring on the inside.
You are as crazy as me but its good stuff
I wish I was your neighborhood hahahaha
I do not find it on your page
Nice job real Rocket Man! But I don't want to be your neighbor lol.
Actually I don't run my engine around my shop.
Neetoe!!!!!!
I love you
Wish my wife would say that!
@@Crazy.Rocketman HA! nice Rob.

Umm I hate to break it to ya, but a 2stroke engine is faster, quieter, fuel efficient & way less dangerous!
Also made for sissies and weedeaters
They suck on power.
Hmm "The final word 'in' (sic) pulsejets"... douchie monkey says what?
The audio isn’t in sync with the video off by about 100ms

So how much did you get paid for the flat earth gig?
?

The music sucks.
Yeah Bob might not like dojocat and Taylor swift like you but does he say anything to you?
