- The Sikelela Chokka Boat ran aground entering Port St Francis Harbour at around 7.30am on Wednesday 27 August 2014. It had smashed to pieces against the rocks by 2.30pm the same day. The skipper and crew were all safely removed from the vessel.

Yeah, if you have ever spent time on a boat/ship, especially in rough weather, it is always sad. Only sailors feel the loss for what it really is. Man has learned to build some really tough ships, including war ships, super tankers, ice breakers and luxury passenger boats. Man has wet to build a ship that is immune to the effects of the sea. Everything we put upon the waves, for any reason, the sea can destroy. The sea does not suffer fools, and gives no quarter. The sea delivers great beauty as well as unimagined fury, sailors know both very well.👍😎

Why didn’t you tow it of. At the start it was perfectly fine it was just stuck behind a rock
that entrance is weird i dont think it was possible
