i have a little theory in light of Uth Duna being shown i think that there might be 5 locals each of them corresponding with each element like Windward Plains and ray dau dealing with thunder, scarlet forest and Uth Duna representing water so there might be 3 other locals and apex's that will represent the rest fire, ice and dragon.
I think exactly this but there could be a 6th locale dealing with some other element/status. It makes sense in my mind because 6th gen, obviously at least (potentially) four brand new apexes, and *potentially* two brand new elders lookin at the composition of the 6th Gen emblem
So repeating what they did in World? I mean you're probably right, just not really a socking revelation. Kind of an expected pattern for games with elemental monster types like this. Fire zone, water zone, ect.
I personally think the next or at least a biome we well have is a snowy biome. The first scene if the boy fleeing looks like there is snow around him. Also his clothes look like a winter style coat.

something i don't think anyone has pointed out is that rey dau has two extra blades on its wings unconnected to the rest of the membrane. combined with a similar body shape and head features could mean arkveld is a distant ancestor of rey dau
The lack of returning LARGE monsters is unsettling... While Rathalos and Rathian are a no brainer, not getting even a taste of returning oldies bothers me. A lot of people didn't start until World and gen 4 and 3 has gotten very minimal love outside of flagships in gen 5 games. There would be no harm in bringing them back, especially since there's a lot of monsters that you just don't see anymore in favour of others. Like, they constantly keep bringing back Khezu but always benching gigginox. There's always a Diablos but where's monoblos? Why have they still not included qurupeco after all this time when it matches perfectly with invader monsters? It's great to have a whole bunch of new monsters but there's a load of high quality older gen monsters that deserve a glow up and are still incredibly unique and interesting to stand up with the new ones. There's no monster that behaves like Zamtrios, Narjarala or seltas queen for example. It would help fill up the monster list and still be exciting for new players as well as old time fans.
idk how significant this is but when nata says "give it to me", in the japanese version he says give me a weapon which probably ties into the comment of how a hunter has a weapon and does nothing. which might indicate that nata. is trying to avenge his village on his own accord.
Oh no! Tai Lung broke out of jail and the “new fated four” aren’t enough to keep it in check so they need the dragon warrior to step in. That’s one way I see it. The apex monsters of each locale are probably the ones who keep the balance and some unknown force upset the ecosystem and unleashed Arkveld. Or…maybe it’s pokemon 2000 and the apex monsters sense a shift in power and try to expand their territories by force and Arkveld is their Lugia and is responsible for keeping the apex monsters in check.
I think a third locale is a given because only having 2 locales just doesn't feel right no matter how big they are. Personally, I want 4 locales, volcanic and snowy would be ideal. Maybe they could put those into 1 with snow on the surface with volcanic caves and caverns down below.
@@ctbeard08I certainly don't like the idea of locales supporting multiple biomes as an excuse to have fewer locales in general. It makes the world feel smaller otherwise. It was the gripe I had with the Citadel in Sunbreak.
My guess about the story is the following: We investigate the White Wraith after rescuing Nata, only to find the White Wraith terrorising ecosystems it doesn’t belong in, and beating down the local Apex’s, but as we go through the game; we learn that the White Wraith was originally a permanent inhabitant of the snowy mountain region/s and rarely invades, instead it viciously repels any potential invaders with extreme tenacity, refusing to tolerate any unwanted visitors; no matter how strong But one day it blitzed through Nata’s village without warning, with signs of a fierce clash, with Arkveld being the loser, and being an especially powerful and tenacious monster, upon entering a new biome; it started sending the local Apex’s running/flying for the hills We’d later find out that Arkveld had actually tried to protect it’s home from an powerful monster invading its territory but the threat; a previously undiscovered species of Black Dragon, did something to Arkveld after defeating it that made it extremely paranoid and hostile toward everything around it, causing it to attack anything it sees, regardless of its threat level or whether it’s a native species or not And that leads us to the Elder Dragon it attempted to fight, whom we know literally NOTHING about, but that we know is present somewhere That leaves the potential of Arkveld pulling a Gore Magala and playing dead after battling the player knocks some sense into it, allowing it to come to our aid in defeating the real threat That’s my theory anyway
Great theory, but i suppose this unknown dragon is shagaru magala since its ability to inflict frenzy and this looks a lot like story line from previos mh game that introduced magala. Maybe im wrong, capcom are definetly not going to reuse old mh game story but who knows
So just like any other MH games then. Shouldn't have bothered making a story about MH wilds tho if it's gonna be same old "something is making this monster anxious" thing
22:53 Nata is talking about giving the weapon to him, that entire line of dialogue criticizing the hunter for having and weapon and doing nothing is Nata speaking, not Olivia lol you completely missed the context of the trailer
Monster hunter world was extremely grounded with what the monsters were capable of and their designs suffered for it so I'm glad they're going back to making monsters exciting again.
KNOW ONE WAS EXCEPTING THIS TODAY! Also anyone had chicken brute Wyvern on your bingo card lmao. Honestly great video and trailer. We have content we can talk about for weeks and where about to even get more later this very week with the live stream. The scarlet forest doesn't really look all that red but that could be like it's default where after the downpour it looks more red but that's just my current theory. and the white wreath Ark looks really badass and I can't wait to see more of what he can do, but I have one possible idea given this games whole thing with the weather that it might tie into his ability like that one Crystal Leviathan from frontier that I can't remember the name of. Overall can't wait to see what they have for rest of the week.
I feel like we are going to get at least two new locales. The snowfield, and naturally the volcano. That's 4 so far one for each of the smaller heads, so its possible that this could be a 5-6 locale game possibly an ancient ruins area, and one more (to account for the 2 big heads)
Its probably hitting on the primal fear of water specifically murky deep water that a lot of people have. It was made to have quite a lot of similarities with large predatory fish that make those kinds of waters their home Specifically the Arapaima looking head which has been known to attack, and kill humans on occasion.
Whip is the new weapon 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Get the base version from that monster then you can customise it with other monster parts to change the weapon Hence why we got the ability to carry two weapons
In the japanese trailer, the lil boy Nata says: "you are a hunter and you are doing nothing, i want a weapon as well so then...!" im pretty curious why they decided to change it throw the english version. Im not sure if he will just want to fight the flagship or if he has some ancient knowledges to use against him but, i read it like: i want my revenge, i want a weapon so i can take it down".
I’m willing to bet we’re gonna be introduced to a second flagship. Considering the logo for the game has two large monster symbols, one aiming up and one aiming down, this could imply two flagships. Also I suspect we’ll have at least four regions. Again based on the logo we have four smaller monster symbols and with the apex monsters seeming to be important to the story these could represent them. There could be a fifth region that doesn’t have an apex because it’s Elder Dragon territory.
21:54 I feel like nata said you have a weapon and you do nothing like give them the weapon not Oliva talking maybe the hunter is scared of the big dragons I would be 😅
Great analysis but I think you missed a few new weapons. When throwing bombs at lala barina, on the hunters back looks like a new pair of dual blades, probably doshaguma. You caught the lala barina lance, but to the right is a new hammer, probably also doshaguma, and to the left the balahara sword and shield. And in the bit with the balahara hunting horn there is also a greatsword hunter over by rey dau's wings, it is hard to make out what equipment they have but from the silhouette it might just be the rathalos GS.
17:55 I’m inclined to think this is just a normal vigorwasp delivery and the hunter chose to stay down for I-frames or dramatic trailer effect. I feel like a whole revive like in Iceborne would show a much bigger, much more flashy heal pop rather than a fairly standard looking one As for the final “you have a weapon and choose to do nothing” spiel might be coming from Nata who is harbouring bad feelings because Arkveld destroyed his home but we, the guild members, want to keep it alive because we thought it was extinct and killing it too soon would be unwise.
The WudWud hideout seems to be the village for the forest. It was confirmed that every map will have its own interim camp, so it could be that they all got some kind of local village too.
This game is going to be incredible just from hearing the story from the website along with all the trailers really gives you the impression that were about to go on a meaningful, dangerous and fun adventure all within the story not just on our own hunting.
I actually teared up watching the new trailer, it was just incredible to not only get so much more information and see the new monsters and apex but getting the release date was exhilarating. Absolutely agree that Feb 2025 cannot come soon enough!!
I've been playing frontier recently and those whip/tail extremities on the wings are super reminiscent of Doragyuruso and some of the other flying wyverns unique to frontier. Seems like theyre taking inspiration or maybe even have the skeletons to bring more frontier monsters over
Extinct monster, Nata questioning you why are you not hunting it... Now thats a moral dilemma right there. Do we kill a monster because it ravaged a village knowing it's the last of it's kind? Can you really blame a monster for its action when its acting on instinct? Are they finally gonna question our morality as a hunter?
I can't get that olympic breakdancer RayGun out of my head whenever I think of Rey Dau - so I'm going to ruin it for all of you lot too, so we suffer together
interesting that so far Cotton was right we haven't seen a single returning large monster other then Ratholos, and I suppose we've got congalala armor but it could still be a different monster where the armor just looks similar. I think it'd be kinda sick if the only returning monsters are variants just because of how harsh the conditions here are normal monsters just can't exsist here
I haven't been keeping up on all the updates but... we haven't seen any returning monster yet, have we? I'm an intermediate-skill player, but a vet, none the less (playing since PSP days,) and I'm extremely excited to see these new monsters with INSANE new moves. That wave attack? Seems simple on paper, but that is AWESOME. While other games put out the same garbage, Monster Hunter is always looking to take their game to the next level and that's why I love it. The only franchise where they release the expansion and you KNOW it's going to be worth it.
I want to see them take this weather idea and just run with it. Fire, ice, snow, and ash storm, heavy fog, etc. Imagine how much cooler a Teostra fight would be if it set the area it was in on fire and updrafts occured because of the rising heat, or Kushala having micro wind bursts that arent just its attacks. I could see Velkhana and Alatreon having cool weather as well. Heck. Kirin already changes the weather in the background in World.
I’m gonna be calling Arkveld “Marley” from now on. The title of The White Wraith paired with the chains on the wing arms keeps making me think of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol
Am I crazy in thinking that arkveld could be an ancient bird wyvern? It’s feathery body and birdlike feet instantly made me think bird wyvern, and a flagship bird wyvern would be a first for the series.
With Arkveld being a monster that was extinct what if this is a whole new genre of monsters. Maybe something happened in the ecosystem like the rapid changes from Zorah Magdaros or the Guiding Lands in World. What if there's a bunch of new monsters that are/were extinct coming back into the world. Maybe the ancient civilization we see was actually wiped out by these ancient monsters. A truly calamity level monster threat.
The giant skeleton of an ancient creature could also look to be that of a Ceadeus if that one bone that is sticking out is a horn. The Ancient civilization surrounding the scene is very reminiscent of the one in Tri, especially that where you fight Ceadeus and Abyssal Lagi.
@@itsyaboiguzma That's what I'm hoping. I really wanna play in some unique places because I started with world and have been playing in a forest and desert for quite a while. I think they will surprise us quite nicely!

The whole “conflict with Olivia” thing makes me think of the previous trailer with hey saying “guild permission granted, begin the hunt” First think I can think of is us getting into a hunt without the permission of the guild
That is actually a lore thing with the games that the player doesn't typically have to worry about. If it's not guild approved, then it's considered poaching. The boy needs to understand that the role of a hunter is not as simple as it seems.
Since they say monsters that thought extinct were in the game, it'll be great if they can bring back some monsters from Frontier. And by means "some", I mean "Lots"!
We will most likely be getting a demo announcement during Tokyo Game show and one last trailer showing the next zone, If you look at the dates of the World Trailers releases it seems that Wilds is following their path to the T I’m also guessing next trailer will also begin to show returning monsters as we still have not even gotten a look at Rath yet

... I hope I'm wrong, though - as much as I want to boast about calling this. Wilds is really trying tons of new things, and I'm eager to be constantly surprised with every step this adventure contains!! Gotta' make it to March, everyone...!!
i have a little theory in light of Uth Duna being shown i think that there might be 5 locals each of them corresponding with each element like Windward Plains and ray dau dealing with thunder, scarlet forest and Uth Duna representing water so there might be 3 other locals and apex's that will represent the rest fire, ice and dragon.
I think exactly this but there could be a 6th locale dealing with some other element/status. It makes sense in my mind because 6th gen, obviously at least (potentially) four brand new apexes, and *potentially* two brand new elders lookin at the composition of the 6th Gen emblem
Dragon for dlc
Volcano area, snowy mountain, and ancient civilization city for dragon element, sounds about right
So repeating what they did in World? I mean you're probably right, just not really a socking revelation. Kind of an expected pattern for games with elemental monster types like this. Fire zone, water zone, ect.
Pretty sure Arkeld is the ice apex and it was just driven out of its natural habitat
I personally think the next or at least a biome we well have is a snowy biome. The first scene if the boy fleeing looks like there is snow around him. Also his clothes look like a winter style coat.
Also going of the size of the Windward Plains and Uth Duna, no reason to leave Gammoth out of this one
@@aaronolson6736 But Gammoth is already part of 'The Fated Four' so I doubt she'll be an apex, but her arrival would be INCREDIBLE!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@gonzacabro1126doesn't have to be an apex to be in the game.
@@hugo-pg5tv Reading comprehension is not really your best skill, doesn't it?
@@gonzacabro1126 bruh do u know how to read? Ur comment make it seem like u believe it would be hard for gammoth to be back cuz of beikg part of the fated four. Where tf did the OP talk about apex monsters?
Im pretty sure the person who’s talking about the Hunter having a weapon and doing nothing is Nata and when he says give it to me he’s talking about your weapon because he wants to go and attack Arkveld
just seen the chains and how he's posed like it's almost like a forsaken and betrayed Knight or hero...
Its actually made me tier up 😭
HE JUST A MISUNDERSTOOD BEAN
Calling it now: The Keepers are secretly guarding the Equal Dragon Weapon and Arkveld was locked up because they thought he'd make a perfect guard dog for the abomination.
I had to look up what this was, but thats an interesting theory.
That leviathan reminds me of an arapaima with it's head shape and coloration.
something i don't think anyone has pointed out is that rey dau has two extra blades on its wings unconnected to the rest of the membrane. combined with a similar body shape and head features could mean arkveld is a distant ancestor of rey dau
Can we acknowledge that we haven’t seen any returning monster outside of rathalos
Also a lot of these new monsters have that soulsborne aesthetic…
Rathalos, Aptonoth confirmed. Congalala suspected.
soulsborne aesthetic...? idk about that, mayb thats in your head. i dont see that at all o.O
@@Foatizenknechtl I am willing to say that they wouldnt look out of place in a Soulsbourne game but not like they belong there either
@BlaizeTheDragon we have only seen 8 games usually launch with 25 to 30 do not worry
idk how significant this is but when nata says "give it to me", in the japanese version he says give me a weapon which probably ties into the comment of how a hunter has a weapon and does nothing. which might indicate that nata. is trying to avenge his village on his own accord.
As a goblin lover, I thought the little gremlins in the trailer were funny (yk what I'm talking about)
I think a third locale is a given because only having 2 locales just doesn't feel right no matter how big they are. Personally, I want 4 locales, volcanic and snowy would be ideal. Maybe they could put those into 1 with snow on the surface with volcanic caves and caverns down below.
3 locales is really too few. We always have at least 4 or 5. Even though they’re clearly massive now, it would feel a bit lacking with less than 4.
@@ctbeard08I certainly don't like the idea of locales supporting multiple biomes as an excuse to have fewer locales in general. It makes the world feel smaller otherwise. It was the gripe I had with the Citadel in Sunbreak.
"World eas a magical time, I don't think they'll be able to recapture that magic". *MH dev team just casually capture all that magic*
My guess about the story is the following:
We investigate the White Wraith after rescuing Nata, only to find the White Wraith terrorising ecosystems it doesn’t belong in, and beating down the local Apex’s, but as we go through the game; we learn that the White Wraith was originally a permanent inhabitant of the snowy mountain region/s and rarely invades, instead it viciously repels any potential invaders with extreme tenacity, refusing to tolerate any unwanted visitors; no matter how strong
But one day it blitzed through Nata’s village without warning, with signs of a fierce clash, with Arkveld being the loser, and being an especially powerful and tenacious monster, upon entering a new biome; it started sending the local Apex’s running/flying for the hills
We’d later find out that Arkveld had actually tried to protect it’s home from an powerful monster invading its territory but the threat; a previously undiscovered species of Black Dragon, did something to Arkveld after defeating it that made it extremely paranoid and hostile toward everything around it, causing it to attack anything it sees, regardless of its threat level or whether it’s a native species or not
And that leads us to the Elder Dragon it attempted to fight, whom we know literally NOTHING about, but that we know is present somewhere
That leaves the potential of Arkveld pulling a Gore Magala and playing dead after battling the player knocks some sense into it, allowing it to come to our aid in defeating the real threat
That’s my theory anyway
And thats just a theory... A GAME THEORY
Damn imagine being so condescending, maybe you should make a youtube channel and do it better ❤
I was about to come on here and say the same thing lol.
Regarding him missing whose speaking. Not the other dudes comment
Monster hunter world was extremely grounded with what the monsters were capable of and their designs suffered for it so I'm glad they're going back to making monsters exciting again.
The Scarlet Forest feels distinctly like a mix of the Deserted Island and the Flooded Forest from 3U.
Also gives me vibes of the primal forest from 4.
@@BlaizeTheDragon and hints of Verdant Hills mixed with smaller hints of Coral Highlands, from the shot at 13:34
KNOW ONE WAS EXCEPTING THIS TODAY!
This new apex is the first MH monster to genuinely scare me. Something about it's deep sea aurora just sends a shiver down my spine.
Its probably hitting on the primal fear of water specifically murky deep water that a lot of people have. It was made to have quite a lot of similarities with large predatory fish that make those kinds of waters their home Specifically the Arapaima looking head which has been known to attack, and kill humans on occasion.
@virtuouswanderer5563 oh yeah, my deep fear of the ocean is intense.
The actual logo looks like the flagship is chainning up the apexes who locked him up originally
February hype...
its actually sooner than i expected ..i was expecting march the earliest but likely later
I Was thinking MAYBE within the first quarter but possibly early 2nd quarter
28th february is basicaly march
I was thinking Summer and I was in a chat where that was the prevailing assumption.
Whip is the new weapon 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Get the base version from that monster then you can customise it with other monster parts to change the weapon
Hence why we got the ability to carry two weapons
21:54 I feel like nata said you have a weapon and you do nothing like give them the weapon not Oliva talking maybe the hunter is scared of the big dragons I would be 😅
Calling it now. The community is gonna start nicknaming Uth Duna the Oof Tuna.
I feel like a whole revive like in Iceborne would show a much bigger, much more flashy heal pop rather than a fairly standard looking one
As for the final “you have a weapon and choose to do nothing” spiel might be coming from Nata who is harbouring bad feelings because Arkveld destroyed his home but we, the guild members, want to keep it alive because we thought it was extinct and killing it too soon would be unwise.
Nata wants to kill it and wants you to give him a weapon
I am hoping and wishing that we get a new whip wepon that the engineer makes based off of the whips the flagship has
I think Arkveld is thought to be extinct because its design is from frontier which got shut down.
0:47, dont be sad, just think about the demo within the year (fingers crossed)
Demo for Christmas?
@@ultimafire2001 Would be one heck of a Chrimba gift to the Mon Hun community
I hope that getting a Frontier-esque monster means we will get Abiorugu and Giaorugu, or at least something like them.
The WudWud hideout seems to be the village for the forest. It was confirmed that every map will have its own interim camp, so it could be that they all got some kind of local village too.
Uth donna: you dare come into my house and smack me with a hammer?! Im calling the guild
I am so exited for this game. When I saw the trailer for the first time I couldn't stop giggling like a little girl. GOG I love this series so much.
If you look at quematrice and the bow weapon trailer the armor looks like it’s the same colors but the bow its self is the basic bow of hope
Are we really going to get some ancient civilization with the white wraith being chained up?!??!??!!!
I don't think Arc boys silhouette matches the logo monster, so I suspect there is still an elder dragon(s) to be revealed for endgame
This game is going to be incredible just from hearing the story from the website along with all the trailers really gives you the impression that were about to go on a meaningful, dangerous and fun adventure all within the story not just on our own hunting.
i really thought the spider was going to be the apex monster of the forest
Totally called flooding for forest and a leviathan apex said it in so many of you guys videos
0:11 top 3 best mh art pieces, wow
The new sunny local looks straight out of Horizon: Forbidden West
I feel like I can already tell that Cotton is going to love Uth Duna
Lagiacrus is bound to happen... question is when.
I could see Lagi in the crimson forest when its not in downpour mode its color palette would fit almost perfectly with the crystal blue waters
Quematrice is my favourite monster from the new trailer, literally a better Anjanath / glave us in my opinion. Granted I wish it was a bird wyvern.
interesting that so far Cotton was right we haven't seen a single returning large monster other then Ratholos, and I suppose we've got congalala armor but it could still be a different monster where the armor just looks similar. I think it'd be kinda sick if the only returning monsters are variants just because of how harsh the conditions here are normal monsters just can't exsist here
did u also preorder the game? or are you gonna wait till its out
Man! Capcom has been cooking a great monster hunter meal for us fans. I can't wait to dig in.
U think him tweaking out could be the frenzy virus?
Nata was the one that wanted the hunters weapon, it was them who said you're a hunter and you do nothing, then says give it to me. [our weapon]
Am I crazy in thinking that arkveld could be an ancient bird wyvern? It’s feathery body and birdlike feet instantly made me think bird wyvern, and a flagship bird wyvern would be a first for the series.
It's almost like the apexes of wilds are like Individuals with there Names and final stand arenas
Uth duna look a big tsujinoko monster we never got from rise
I still can't believe that they gave the Palicos voices. I'm so used to them just, "Yeeowww" and then a text box appearing.
We have the option for fully voiced or just meow sounds with subtitles. You can set it to be what you prefer
I think the talk about the weapon is the kid leading into him asking for your weapon to try and take revenge 21:48
I really hope there is a couple of areas they haven't shown yet. Id love to see some WILD looking locals!
Keep in mind all the areas theyve shown have been only 2 maps. There's suspected to be more even though these maps are double the size of worlds maps.
@@itsyaboiguzma That's what I'm hoping. I really wanna play in some unique places because I started with world and have been playing in a forest and desert for quite a while. I think they will surprise us quite nicely!
It's like they turned Omega Red into a monster fight and I'm here for it!
Nata was the one saying the hunter had a weapon and yet you do nothing. He is asking to give your weapon to him. He is calling you a coward for not immediately running in to the fight and if you won’t then he will in order to avenge his village.
The whole “conflict with Olivia” thing makes me think of the previous trailer with hey saying “guild permission granted, begin the hunt”
First think I can think of is us getting into a hunt without the permission of the guild
That is actually a lore thing with the games that the player doesn't typically have to worry about. If it's not guild approved, then it's considered poaching. The boy needs to understand that the role of a hunter is not as simple as it seems.
I’m just having my mind blow by the Palicos and the Main Hunter Talking?!
Does anyone else realize that the new fish leviathan wyvern also looks like an Arapaima ?
Since they say monsters that thought extinct were in the game, it'll be great if they can bring back some monsters from Frontier.
And by means "some", I mean "Lots"!
I absolutely love Uth Duna as well as Arapaimas which looks to be what it’s based on
Quematrice reminds me of Oviraptor, what with the head crest and short beak. But more beefy by comparison.
Clearly very initially edited, Rage really can't wait to talk about MH Wilds
YOOOOO the new leviathan is based on an arapaima i think
Feb 28 is sooooo sooooooooooooon!!!! The hype is real! :D
We will most likely be getting a demo announcement during Tokyo Game show and one last trailer showing the next zone,
If you look at the dates of the World Trailers releases it seems that Wilds is following their path to the T
I’m also guessing next trailer will also begin to show returning monsters as we still have not even gotten a look at Rath yet
Arkveld
Depending on the map or the creature it is engaged in a turf fight with, I think it can adapt to any kind of element.
A main named character being part of the Bonk Gang makes me very happy! Hammer gang hype!
