Fun Fact - this song was actually written by these two younger performers while they were jamming and filming the show, it was so good that the writers worked it into the series.
They said that they wanted to have a Troy and Gabriella moment, that’s why they wrote it and showed Kenny
And they have a studio version which is longer and sooooo good!!!!

Honestly I'll never understand, they had a huge success, they won award's, they got number one sound track most listened bitting Hamilton for the first time in years. They made so much money, and yet Netflix didn't renewed and took them over one year to give us the news because they knew it would backlash.

Luke's outfit/hair is inspired by Patrick Swazy's character in Dirty Dancing (1987), which was choreographed by Kenny Ortega (who directed JATP). (The dance might also be inspired by Dirty Dancing but I'm not sure.)
It is! There's a Tumblr post out there that matched the choreography of both dances together to show the similarities.
Also, his hair is pretty much the same as Troy’s and Ben’s. Just sayin’, Kenny Ortega has a type

I always figured that Luke sounded more breathy in this because this isn’t real. Julie sounds more “contemporary” in this because it’s her dream and it’s real for her
The guy is a ghost that died 25 years earlier. The technology gap is significant. I think the fact it was a kid's program didn't help. Netflix had made some bad programing choices and was in a bit of a cash crunch. I was hoping someone else would pick it up. Madison being 16 didn't help. Too much time has elapsed. I don't know if the show could be restarted.

It was the same guy, Charlie Gillespie, singing. As a matter of fact, he and Madison Reyes, who plays Julie, wrote this song together and it's beautiful!
I think his vowels are different because he is from Canada (: His voice is so gorgeous 😍 all songs are great! but honey there's no season 2 so if you start watching now... your heart is going to be broke );
Fun fact: They wrote this song together as a "fun thing". Kenny loved it and put it in the show

The director Kenny ortaga also choreographed dirty dancing which is why lukes hair is like that because he was recreating Patrick Swayze’s hair and look
This is all a dream sequence, and I'm mad with Netflix for cancelling it up to this day.
Madison (Julie) and Charlie (Luke) wrote this song!!!! Luke is a ghost. That’s why she passes though him, but she’s dreaming about him (in dance class while she’s dancing with another guy) and so now they can actually touch each other (because she’s dreaming, that’s why he came through the mirror).
In the second season, this would have been possible since they all were more solid and could physically touch. In S1 they had limited chances to physically touch since ghosts can only become solid for a short period of time. I imagined Julie being taken to court by the only living member of the group and thewe havoc it would cause to have the band poip in into a courtroom.
I loved this series.. I know it was “for young adults” but hey.. I’m young at heart lol 😆
It took me a minute, but this is the album version. I like the mix of footage with it.

Would have been nice if they could have shopped the show to another service or network. MTV comes to mind or a kids channel nick Jr or nickelodeon. At this point an animated show wiith adjustments would be ideal you only hear their voices so their age is no longer a problem a good 3D recreation from the first season, so they resemble the charactrers.
Oh this show! This emotions came back watching it. His and his parents fight plot made me cry like hell. And this song that he wrote to his mom and Julie went to their home to play it and he was standing there but they couldn't see him made me cry more. Too much

Love love love this show binged it all in a day when it first came out. Seen the whole show literally over 20 times. Of course when Netflix actually makes something amazing they cancel it/get rid of it, but then they continue something that’s bad or just not that good. It’s so flipping annoying that they do that.

I loved this show I am still pissed but it is just in a long line of shows that have been prematurely cancelled by Netflix. Like most recently Warrior Nun. But this show Julie and the Phantoms is still worth the watch the acting and musical talent speaks for its self.

The shows is about Julie and the boys basically That’s Luke but he has two other band members Alex and Reggie their ghost but Julie can only see them but when they perform together everyone can see them but they pretend they are an Holograms
So the dance scenes in the black room are from the scene where they sing the song. The whole song isn't sang in the show but there is a full version. Whoever made the video filled in the unsung part with clips from the show which is why it seems so disconnected
