He will be fine and he will be an elite superstar for years to come. That being said… the expectations for him were that he’s a generational talent. I’m not sure if I see that. Especially seeing Celebrini pop off this season I can’t help but think Bedard was a bit overhyped in his draft.
@@zodiac5375 true true. But still. You could make the same argument for Celebrini as well. Sharks have some decent players but they are an equally as bad team. Celebrini gets more shots per game than Bedard and his scoring % is much higher which is a testament of him being able to drive play more and create more offensive opportunity.
I'd be interested to see the differences now that Anders is implementing his systems with the big club. I wouldn't say he's popping off, but the offense is definitely goin' a little more, and they defend using puck possession way more now.
Great video. I would really love to get a similar video on the Anaheim Ducks. As a fan, it’s been really deflating to see how little this team has progressed and struggled to generate offense/win. I would love to see someone of y’all’s insight into this.
Just because he doesn't get 100 points at 19 years old doesn't mean he can't be a generational talent. Even with a slow start to his career he could end up with multiple 60 goals seasons and many 100 points season.
Any concerns that Bedard scores practically all of his goals off the rush as opposed to mixing it up via forechecking and/or cycling? Scoring off the rush is obviously important but whenever he gets into the zone and doesn’t score right after the entry it feels like the play is already dead.
Watch all of his goals in the WHL and World Juniors and tell me how many of them were either off the rush or on the PP. This isn’t a new thing with him
Here is why: He is a professional athlete, but if we got into a fight, I would easily kick Bedards ass. He is tiny. I'm surprised that either he or his coaches, didn't strengthen him more before making it to the NHL. But, he is exceptionally fast. He might be the fastest in the league. That's why he's better off the rush.
Star players are drafted & completely unaccustomed to losing. It wears on a player's confidence. Considering the amazing amount of ice time Bedard enjoys & lack of production I would say his confidence is shot.
We won’t know for another few seasons if he is a potential superstar (think Kane/Matthews) or generational talent (think McDavid/Crosby). He isn’t doing bad by any means, but with the expectations being SO high for him it just seems more likely that he will be the former rather than the latter at this point. Generational talent is thrown around way too much these days, but like I said we will see as he continues to develop.
I totally agree. The fact that the question of him being “generational” is constantly poised and debated on tells me that he’s not. There was zero question that Crosby and McDavid were generational from day 1. He will be an elite superstar and probably score 100+ points multiple times but he’s probably not generational and that’s okay
@@ImmortalWombathe said speed and strength, bedard doesn’t go into the dirty areas.. and Hughes has unreal skating, Kane has some of the best hands we’ve ever seen, not to mention his agility.

He’s a beast already… Just needs a bit of support and that’s coming…
He’s leading his team and basically has zero help. He’s going to be fine.

Zero help? They ere the best hockey players in the world.
@@YuseiFudo52gotta remember this is a team sport. He’s creating a lot of chances for his team that simply aren’t being finished on.
He can't play D well and can't win faceoffs. Pay attention to what he does on the ice.

Can you do one for Leo Carlsson? Seems like the coaching staff is holding him back playing him with grinders that constantly loses pucks (Killorn).
Good content but the “structure “ is the reason why Luke has been fired. Been night and day as of late.
through the first 100 games in their respective career's - bedard and matthews are basically the same in points (slight edge to matthews).

There are a number of players with many 100 point seasons who are not considered generational. Generational would be a higher bar than that.
@@pakg1 I know im talking like six 100 points seasons in a row or even more and at least 3 Hart. I still think he has the potential to do it.

Chicago could’ve had his running mate in Demidov for years to come but instead chose Levshunov 😭
they’re gonna get another top 3 offensive talent in this draft, the likes of misa/martone/hagens. theyll be fine

I don’t think he will be as good as Matthews.
since 5 games, he's doing really great tho
Bruh he is 19 years old and leading an NHL team in points, just relax he is fine
This video is now already dated since Hawks have a new coach lol
Bedard will be elite, but no generational forward has average speed and strength. Ovechkin, Crosby, McDavid all much more physically gifted.
Tell that to Gretzky, Kane, J/Q Hughes etc...
@@ImmortalWombat exactly. This isn't 90s or earlier hockey anymore. Idk why ppl often forget that.

Tell that to three players with way more explosive natural speed than Bedard? You completely missed the point.
Bedard is just a kid. He should be in Rockford, honing his skills and gaining confidence..
Michkov > Bedard 🤫👍
