    I think they should make a 19" rack mount version, maybe with twice the I/O, without the knobs, and just the plugin control... That would be a true "blackbox!" unit.

I've been mixing in the box for way too long but I'm slowly starting to incorporate more of a hands-on type of workflow with both analog and digital lately. I've been searching for tools I can see myself using in every single mix, so thank you. I really enjoy all of your videos so keep up the great work David! You truly are a master of your craft! Really nice video David, and as always, great examples and explanations!!
    What I would like to see would be a comparison of the different kinds of saturation between hardware Drawmer 1976, FreqTube FT-1 and plugins like Fabfilter Saturn etc. I mean not a nonsense comparison like „which device is better“ or something like that, because I know, that the devices are too different for a 1:1 comparison. I mean rather, what saturation, respectively what device or plugin would you use in specific situations in the mixing process (preferably heavy rock). Of interesst would also be, what are the strenghts and where are the limitations of the the different devices and plugins.
    Many thanks for all your work and sharing your knowledge with us!! I appreciate that!
    👍👍👍

    Thanks David. This has been out for a good few months now and I was wondering why there wasn't more hype about it. A very easy way to implement some analog tube goodness into a mix, without having to expand your I/O or buy a bunch of cables, and it even has plugin recall!. I mean we go mad when the newest analog tube plug in emulation comes out, but the feed back I was seeing on Gearspace for this was.. it doesn't sound good, it's fake analog, are there any real tubes in it, or mostly distrust that the manufacturer won't be around to support the firmware/software for very long... Just very negative.

    • @mixbustv
      @mixbustv  11 месяцев назад +4

      I don't think so because I have 56 channels of analog already, 22 of them being tubes between eq, saturators and compressors. Instead, I think I'll give this to my assistant in the other studio because he's running with just a laptop. And just in case I'm right when I hear a hint of assumption in the tone of your comment let me be clear: because you'd be a moron thinking that everyone has not one but two studios full of quite expensive analog gear and unlimited I/O's I think we can agree that even if a product doesn't fit MY rig and personal workflow, if someone who does gear reviews - like I do - one would know if and when a unit is cool and fun and worth featuring even if it doesn't fit your personal setup. And if it would probably be a good option for his audience. But if you want to hear the opinion of people who think only what they use is the best - because that's what they can afford or believe is the best - you can head to Gearspace where any piece of gear is basically awful unless they own it and that's the absolute best and everyone else should buy what they have because they have all golden years. Good talk 👍

    • @mixbustv
      @mixbustv  11 месяцев назад +4

      10 to 20 years. I think that's should be the last of your "questions" your computer will go off WAY before this. Your plugins and OS will be outdated WAY before this. Everything else will go before the tubes. Also there's no "calibration" in a unit like this, there's only matching and basically any shop selling tubes will sell you a matched pair

I know most people at home don't even understand why automation is key for mixing but it is. Also for recalls. Also for presets. Also for another 10 things.
